*DAILY DEW 13TH/DECEMBER/2021* *WELCOME TO MISSIONS* _Key Bible Text:_ *For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.* (John 3:16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ DOWN through the years my life has been tremendously motivated by great missionary mottoes. May I give you one now that perhaps has meant more to me than any other. It is this, *"The supreme task of the church is the evangelisation of the world"* I believe that with all my heart. The most important work of the Church of Jesus Christ is world evangelization. WORLD I am going to take three words in this motto and emphasize them one by one. First of all, let me take the "WOLRD" word. When God loved, He loved a world. When He gave His son, He gave His Son for a world. When Jesus Christ died, He died for a world. God's vision is a world vision. That is the vision He wants us to have. So many of us are localized in our outlook. We see only our own community, our own village or town, and we never see beyond. There are those who think only of their own church and have no interest in what others are doing. Then there are those who have a larger vision. Then there are those who see an entire world. They see Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America and the Island of the seas. They have God's vision and that is the vision He wants us to have, a world vision. _MEDITATION:_ *Why is it that so many of us are local in our outlook? *DAILY DEW 12TH/DECEMBER/2021* *WELCOME TO THE GOSPEL* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.* (Romans 1:16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ A professor in my university gave me a ride. This was 1977 when I was in University of Lagos. I was going from the college of education to the main campus where my lectures were taking place (if you are familiar with the university of Lagos). So, I waved him him down and he opened the door and I entered. He was the only one driving, and as soon as he began to move, I began to share the Gospel with him. I gave him a tract (I always carry a tract). He collected it grudgingly and then, after I spoke for about three minutes, he said, "Wait, are you a student?" I said "Yes". He said "That's fine". I didn't know he was professor. He said, "What is the shape of the earth?" I said "The shape of the earth is elliptical". That week, that was what we were taught in my survey class and I gave him the formulae. He said, "Hold on. When you talk about heaven, your heaven; you point up, and you told me the earth was round?" I said, "Sure sir". And he said, "On the other side of the globe, when they point upward, it's on the opposite direction to your upward." I was in trouble. He said, "Tell me, if heaven is up there, what is the geographical direction of hell? Remember, if you say it is down; that's the samw direction the people on the other side of the earth will say is up!" I was praying, "Lord help me"; and I said, "Excuse me sir, God forbid - it will not happen to you; but if you die without Christ, the next minute you will not just know the geographical direction of hell; you will know the exact location of hell, because hell is at the end of life without Christ." The man parked the car and said, "Get out of my car." I got to know later that he was a child of a prominent baptist pastor. He went to America and studied in the University of Alabama and he went to church with great enthusiasm. When he got to church, they didn't allow him to mix with the whites. They segregated him to the back, and he got out of church and vowed never to have anything to do with church. He said the church his father served all his life, treated him so? ...so he renounced Christianity and became an atheist. I didn't know this when I was preaching to him, that at the end of his life without Christ is the exact location of hell. Later on, two years ago, he died; but he didn't die as an unbeliever. I was preaching for Pastor Enoch Adeboye at Redemption Camp. He saw me on the giant screen and he found a way to locate me. He said, "Bishop can you recognise me?" I said, "I know you very well." He recounted the experience of 1977, he said what I said troubled him every single day - that hell is at the end of a life without Christ, until he gave his life to Christ. He said, he was now an assistant pastor in Redeemed Christian Church of God And I hugged him. _MEDITATION:_ *You know how we had already been mistreated and insulted in Philippi before we came to you in Thessalonica. *DAILY DEW 11TH/DECEMBER/2021* *WELCOME TO THE GOSPEL* _Key Bible Text:_ *And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!* (Romans 10:15 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In the old testament, an adulterer or adulteress was condemned to be stoned to death before God. That was the law. In the new testament, Jesus said to an adulteress "I do not condemn you, go and sin no more" Believe me, the law had not changed. The penalty for adultery was still death. And Jesus did not come to abolish the law, or change the law. He came to FULFILL it. So He had the right to tell her to go because He was going to bear the penalty for her adultery. He had taken her condemnation upon Himself. He was going to die for her. And so He could tell her to GO....and sin no more. *DAILY DEW 10TH/DECEMBER/2021* *THE WORD ABOVE ALL* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.* (Hebrews 13:7 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In 2021, a Pastor in one of the largest denominations in the world is still burying bibles under the foundation of the church building saying the church is standing on the word of God. We are still in such a bad shape doctrinally because we have resisted corrections all these years. No one who makes progress in the word does so by being stubborn and proud against the word. When I met the word, it disrupted all I ever believed. I had even seen more miracles - blind eyes opening, lame walking, and creative miracles where I come from before then! But I submitted to the word because it is the Word! Till date, show me in scriptures and that is the final. *DAILY DEW 9TH/DECEMBER/2021* *THE WORD ABOVE ALL* _Key Bible Text:_ *Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.* (James 1:21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ A man whose doctrine is so errant but prophesies a lot, you receive him. A man whose handling of the word of God is misleading but releases songs that go viral, you celebrate and receive Him. A man who has misrepresented God so much, making Him look like a money greedy deity who only blesses those who have what to give him, you receive Him and honor Him because he prays so much and works signs and wonders. A man who preaches the word and points out errors that misrepresent the Christian faith? He is to be ignored. He is a plague. A divisive man. A trouble maker. You know what? That says so much about us as a people. We really do not honor the word.
