*DAILY DEW 6TH/JUNE/2021* *CULTIVATING GOD'S PRESENCE.* _Key Bible Text:_ *"After that, Enoch lived in fellowship with God for 300 years and had other children. He lived to be 365 years old. He spent his life in fellowship with God, and then he disappeared, because God took him away."* (Genesis 5:22-24 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ What we need is God's presence in our lives enough for God to be fighting our battles. Imagine how Moses was defended by God Himself when Miriam and Aaron challenged and murmured against how it was only him that God was speaking through. Miriam suffered leprosy for a season as a result. God's presence in Moses' life was so strong that God will not allow him to be maligned or his character assassinated. Do you spend quality time in the presence of God? This is a key factor to anyone who desires to command or cultivate the presence of God. With the presence of God deliberately sought, cultivated and maintained, one will enjoy more from God and from being a believer. All we need is the presence of God! His presence makes the difference. How do you call down the presence of God? A couple of factors are helpful. These include service to God, giving to God to God's people, being active in evangelism, among others. However, most importantly, we call down the presence of God by worship and fellowship with the Spirit. Worship is not limited to an activity done in church. Worship is a way of life. Worship involves making time to sing spiritual songs and hymns. Worship involves meditation on the word. Worship includes studying & reading the word. Worship above all, is rooted on obedience to the Holy Spirit. To cultivate God's presence, we need to deliberately shun certain things, people or actions. Stop listening to those songs that will not invite the presence of God. Stop reading books that doesn't bring the presence of God. There are too many distractions in Lagos. Mind what you listen to or watch. Also deliberately do certain things, relate with selected persons, and take positive actions that will draw you closer to a consciousness of God's presence. Create a notice board where you write words that you want to keep before you. Use Apps that voice out the word of God. Memorize the word. Commit the word to memory. Memorize the Scripture. Live a life of prayer and yielded-ness. Make yourself vulnerable to God. Move closer to people who are excited to know God and take steps to be closer to God. Covet the gift of discernment. Knowing what to do per time, what to refuse or accept, and who to follow or unfollow, can't be overemphasized. *MEDITATION:* *Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;.* (Ephesians 5:19-20 (KJV)) (Adapted from LDC's Sunday Service Sermon) *#David_Joshua_Egbochuo* *#Sunday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Guest_Message* *#Hello_June* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/06/cultivating-gods-presence.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 30TH/MAY/2021* *FRUITS BEFORE GIFTS* _Key Bible Text:_ *Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.* (Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ As powerful and as needful as the gifts of the Holy Spirit are, we must understand that they must not be used as an excuse for the manifestation of fruits of the Spirit. To walk in the fruits of the Spirit is arguably more important in terms of how they help one align with the fullness of salvation. The place of gifts cannot be overemphasized with respect of service in the body of Christ. Let's say Brother Emmanuel is a believer who is equipped with the gifts of Tongues and Healing, for instance, but hardly controls his anger and is short on patience. He will most likely still be very influential in the local assembly because of His healing gifts especially. On the other hand, Sister Grace, a believer who is fully practiced and established in the nine fruits of the Spirit, without any gifts, may be quite respected but not as influential as Brother Emmanuel who has two gifts. Here is the problem, neither of these two believers are fully matured in Christ. In Christ, there is both fruits and gifts fully at work. Hence, the goal is to strive to walk in the fruits of the Spirit even as we continue to seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that comes by the manifestation of the gifts. Whereas the fruits are compulsory for every believer and actually a sign of genuine salvation in Christ, the Gifts are distributed only at the discretion of the Holy Spirit and based on the hunger and thirst of individual believers. MEDITATION: *But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.* (Galatians 5:22-23) *#David_Joshua_Egbochuo* *#Sunday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Wonders_of_Grace* *#Hello_May* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/05/fruits-before-gifts.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 23RD/MAY/2021* *PENTECOST WITHOUT POWER?* _Key Bible Text:_ *And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.* (Luke 24:49 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Since it was discovered that after His resurrection, Jesus remained on earth, appearing and disappearing for a space of 40 days before he finally ascended to heaven, many believers have figured that 40 days after we mark his death & resurrection, we should also mark the day of Pentecost, signaling the arrival of the Holy Ghost baptism on the disciples. This among many Pentecostals have given rise to "Pentecost Service", "Pentecost Week", "Pentecost Day" etc. However, the question that begs for attention is, was that why Jesus asked the pioneer disciples to tarry in Jerusalem? In other words, was it so that we would have another ceremonious day or week or event to add to the Christian calendar? I think there is more. The idea is not that the practice is wrong. Not necessarily. However, the point of Pentecost must never be lost while we mark our calendars and special programs. For instance, when we call for our Pentecost week, what about the rest of the 51 weeks of the year? Should they be Pentecost-less? What's the real point of Pentecost? Should it be relegated to a week or should it be manifest in every service and in our daily living? Here is the idea: Pentecost was a special day because the disciples received the enduement of power as promised by the Father. Power became literally manifest in the lives of the disciples. The focus of Pentecost is not about just receiving "the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues" No! The disciples did not only speak in tongues. They walked, lived and commanded literal power after the Holy Ghost came upon them! This is what we should seek after everyday of our lives and not just in a Pentecost Service -- Power! MEDITATION: *May God help us to individually ponder on the question: Where is the POWER?* *#David Joshua Egbochuo* *#Sunday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Wonders_of_Grace* *#Hello_May* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/05/pentecost-without-power.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 16TH/MAY/2021* *The Supreme Task* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."* (Mark 16:15 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Why is it that so many of us are local in our outlook? Why do we think only of ourselves? Is God more interested in these black people living here than He is in those yellow people living there? Is He more concerned about those brown people than He is about those who are white? Is it because we are so near-sighted that we do not have a world vision? When I was leaving Jamaica, I stepped into a plane. First of all, I saw only the local surroundings. Then as I rose higher, I saw fields and farm houses. As I got higher still, I was able to see valleys and mountains in the distance. Finally, I could look down upon the entire Island of Jamaica, lying like a jewel in the bosom of the Caribbean; and if I could have gone high enough, I could have seen all the islands of the West Indies at a single glance. God, from His vantage point, can look down upon an entire world and see every country, continent and island at the same time. If we could only get far away, we could see the world as Jesus saw it. But some of us have never travelled and we have never listened to those who have travelled. Why is it that we think that we are the people and that we are more important than any of the other peoples of the world? Why should we be local in our outlook? Why should we think of ourselves as more important than any of the other peoples of the world? Why should God be more interested in us than in other nations? Oh that He would give us a world vision, that we might work for the evangelization of the entire world, the world for which Christ died, and that we might see the world as He sees it. MEDITATION: *“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
