*PUT DOUBT OUT*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."* (John 20:25 (KJV))
_Bible Insight_
_Thomas' Doubt_
Thomas, one of Jesus' twelve apostles, had missed the previous appearance of Jesus to the other disciples. When they told him about their encounter with the risen Lord, Thomas was skeptical. He refused to believe unless he saw the physical evidence of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection for himself. Thomas wanted to see the nail prints in Jesus' hands, put his finger into the wounds, and thrust his hand into Jesus' side.
_The Need for Evidence_
Thomas' demand for physical evidence highlights the natural human desire for proof and certainty. We often want to see and touch before we believe. However, this approach can limit our faith and understanding. Jesus would later tell Thomas, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" (John 20:29). This emphasizes the importance of trusting in God's word and promises, even when we don't have physical evidence.
_Lesson for Us_
The lesson from this verse is that faith is not solely based on physical evidence or tangible proof. While it's natural to seek assurance, our faith should ultimately rest on the word of God and the promises of Scripture. We can learn from Thomas' experience to trust in God's sovereignty and provision, even when we don't have all the answers or physical evidence. By doing so, we can grow in our faith and develop a deeper trust in our Lord.

*HERALDS OF FORGIVENESS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained."* (John 20:23 (KJV))
_Bible Insight_
_Authority to Forgive_
In this verse, Jesus is granting His disciples authority to forgive sins. This authority is not based on their own power or ability, but on Jesus' own authority and power. He had just shown them His resurrected body and had breathed the Holy Spirit into them, empowering them for their mission. Now, He's giving them the authority to declare forgiveness to those who repent.
_The Ministry of Reconciliation_
This verse highlights the disciples' role in the ministry of reconciliation. As ambassadors of Christ, they are to declare forgiveness to those who turn to God in repentance. This is not about them having the power to forgive sins on their own, but about them being agents of God's forgiveness. They are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation to a world in need.
_Lesson for Us_
The lesson from this verse is that we, too, have a role in the ministry of reconciliation. As believers, we are called to be ambassadors of Christ, sharing the message of forgiveness and reconciliation with others. We are not the ones who forgive sins, but we are to declare God's forgiveness to those who repent.
_MEDITATION:_
*May we take seriously our role in this ministry, sharing the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation with a world in need!!*

*TOUCH ME NOT!*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."* (John 20: 17 (KJV))
_Bible Insight_
Jesus' instruction to Mary Magdalene, "Touch me not," may seem puzzling, but it highlights the significance of His ascension to the Father. Jesus was not yet in His glorified state, and His ascension was necessary to complete His mission. By telling Mary not to touch Him, Jesus was emphasizing the importance of His ascension and the change that was about to take place.
Jesus' message to His brethren, "I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God," is a profound statement of the new relationship that believers have with God through Jesus. By using the phrase "my Father, and your Father," Jesus is emphasizing the familial relationship that believers have with God, and the access they have to Him through Jesus. This message is a testament to the completed work of Jesus on the cross and the new era of salvation that had begun.
This verse also highlights the importance of obedience and mission. Jesus instructs Mary to go to His brethren and deliver a message, which she promptly does (John 20:18). This demonstrates the importance of obeying Jesus' instructions and fulfilling our mission as His followers.
_MEDITATION:_
*As believers, we are called to share the message of Jesus with others and to fulfill our role in His mission to the world!!*
