When people say "be nice," they almost always mean "please me now" while what is ultimately good for them might as well take a back seat. If you want to be nice ALWAYS, you can neither truly love man nor please God. For love, there's time for everything. A time to be nice, and a time to appear mean. Love is always kind. But love is not always nice. And kindness may run contrary to niceness. Kindness delays gratification for a higher good. Niceness takes immediate gratification as the only good. Kindness teaches you how to fish. Niceness keeps giving you fish. Kindness teaches you investment. Niceness keeps giving you handouts. Kindness will always meet your needs. Niceness will always meet your wants. Kindness compliments you in Truth. Niceness flatters you to make you feel good. Kindness is empathetic. Niceness is sympathetic. Kindness can be firm yet polite. Niceness is ever soft and always agreeable. Kindness knows pain may produce gain. Niceness detests all pain and loses the best of gains. Extreme kindness will give you injection or drugs for malaria. *DAILY DEW 24/JUNE/2022* *UNDERSTANDING PRINCIPLES OF THE KINGDOM:Seeds of Destiny* (VI) _Key Bible Text:_ *"If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land"* (Isaiah 1:19 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Our focus remains on non-obvious seeds that are critical in destiny determination _Types of seeds_ (Cont'd) 6. "OBEDIENCE IS A SEED!" Obedience to the word of God is clearly a seed because whenever we heed the word, we achieve a desired result (its fruits). Likewise, whenever we do not heed the word of God, we also arrive at an undesired result. When you sow towards obedience, you get God's approval. When you do otherwise, you get its consequences. A reflection on Romans 2: 6-11 will help:- *"Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and DO NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God."* When you reflect on these and other passages that deals with obedience, you will observe that without obedience we will never get the best of God. We must deliberately sow the seeds of obedience. A believer without obedience to the Word of God and the spirit of God, is like a car without an engine. Such car will never go anywhere and will reap the consequences of abandonment in some parking lot. It would also help to meditate upon Mathew 7 : 24-27 (KJV). May we not be unfortunate or foolish like the man who "built his house upon the sand". _MEDITATION:_ *"God will reward each of us for what we have done. He will give eternal life to everyone who has patiently done what is good in the hope of receiving glory, honor, and life that lasts forever. But he will show how angry and furious he can be with every selfish person who rejects the truth and wants to do evil. All who are wicked will be punished with trouble and suffering. It doesn't matter if they are Jews or Gentiles. But all who do right will be rewarded with glory, honor, and peace, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. *DAILY DEW 17/JUNE/2022* *You’ll Never Wish You Did Less* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Or imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won't she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she'll call her friends and neighbors: 'Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!' Count on it--that's the kind of party God's angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God."* (Luke 15:8-10 (The Message)) _Bible Insight:_ _Harassed, Helpless, Forgotten_ Jesus knew his world and “he had compassion for them” (Matthew 9:36). Jesus’s heart broke for the shepherdless sheep, and all too often ours does not. Instead of focusing on whether the proverbial man on the desert island will go to hell if he has never heard the gospel, Christ’s commissioned church is more concerned with who will go to him. We grieve that many who hear do not go to him, and that many do not go to him because they never had the chance to hear. Jesus’s compassion came as a result of the people’s lostness coupled with the lack of laborers to find them. When only 1 out of every 5,000 professing Christians goes overseas (a mere 0.02%), when there are over three billion harassed and helpless unreached souls at large, we must constantly “pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:38). Buy a map. Open it. Pore in prayer over its people and places. Many have done so only to find their hearts opened in the process. Let us pray too, with Bob Pierce, founder of World Vision, “Let me be broken with the things that break God’s heart.” Our self-sent God in Christ is the foremost of all missionaries and mobilizers. *He was sent to save, and he sends all he saves.* Someway, somehow, and somewhere he commissions you and all the Christians around you. When only $1.66 of every $100,000 of Christian income is given to the unreached and only 0.05% of Christian income goes to international missions at all, it’s not too hard to see why more can’t be sent. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."* (Hebrews 4:15-16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ We could occasionally find ourselves at a place of brokenness, lukewarmness or isolation. While these challenges aren't surprising to come by, we need to know how to overcome them. In this you will tend to explore & get the perspective of becoming a New Breed. These can indefinitely transform your walk with God, & keep your newness alive. Be Restored It is common to find ourselves in a place of emptiness when we struggle with addictions, depression, and brokenness. Whether you are journeying through such a phase or haven’t yet experienced it, knowing about restoration and equipping ourselves for it can help you deal with these challenges better. But the beginning of healing and restoration is recognizing that we already have supernatural help and rescue. Jesus in His journey on earth, until He was crucified and rose again, experienced more trauma than we could possibly imagine, and He understands our situation better than any person can. In understanding what we go through and having laid down His life for us, God’s overwhelming love offers supernatural comfort, help, and restoration. A key practice that facilitates restoration is reading God’s word. *DAILY DEW 20/MAY/2022* *RELATIONSHIPS & CHOOSING A LIFE PARTNER* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God."* (Ephesians 5:21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ SOME RED FLAGS to consider when considering a serious relationship or choice of a life partner:- 5. Why can't you say "sorry!"? Ego, pride, self righteousness, etc are some of the major reasons people can't say sorry! People who can't apologize are always thinking they have to be pleased. You must learn to apologize to build a happy home. Inability to say sorry is not a virtue. Proving stubborn and self righteous costs devil his place and he was thrown down to earth! If he had quickly pleaded with God and repented, perhaps there will be no devil today! Don't be like the devil! 6. Avoid generalizing negatively. We are easily tempted and easily fall into negative generalizations. "Ibos love money!"? Why not "Ibos are hard working"? "Yorubas love owambe", why not "Yorubas love family and friends gatherings"? "Hausas are backward and heartless" Why not "Hausa's are strategic and futuristic"? All men are not the same! All women are not the same! Not all children of these days lack respect! Accepting Stereotypes and generalizations is wrong! A bad fruit does not condemn all other fruits from the same tree! Take time to study individuals and don't fall for lazy generalizations! 7. Does your proposed partner have a spiritual head over him/her? Does s/he listen to someone? Is s/he a lone ranger? Self made conscious and answer to no one? Partners who can't submit to any authority or mentor figure is a real challenge because by the nature of life, no one is ordained to be spiritually headless! Find out who he or she regards. In fact, take it a step further, discuss in advance about one or more neutral and mature persons to be like your internal appeal court, where you take hard, prolonged or sensitive issues to, for more guided resolution. _MEDITATION:_ *“A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ come together.
