*DAILY DEW 8/JULY/2022* *To Be Kind is the goal-- Not Nice* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another"* (Romans 12:10 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Niceness and Kindness may appear to be identical twins but in reality they may race on parallel lanes. When people say "be nice," they almost always mean "please me now" while what is ultimately good for them might as well take a back seat. If you want to be nice ALWAYS, you can neither truly love man nor please God. For love, there's time for everything. A time to be nice, and a time to appear mean. Love is always kind. But love is not always nice. And kindness may run contrary to niceness. Kindness delays gratification for a higher good. Niceness takes immediate gratification as the only good. Kindness teaches you how to fish. Niceness keeps giving you fish. Kindness teaches you investment. Niceness keeps giving you handouts. Kindness will always meet your needs. Niceness will always meet your wants. Kindness compliments you in Truth. Niceness flatters you to make you feel good. Kindness is empathetic. Niceness is sympathetic. Kindness can be firm yet polite. Niceness is ever soft and always agreeable. Kindness knows pain may produce gain. Niceness detests all pain and loses the best of gains. Extreme kindness will give you injection or drugs for malaria. Acute niceness will give you icecream or fanta for typhoid. _MEDITATION:_ *Be kind always.
