*DAILY DEW 17TH/AUGUST/2021* *PROVE ALL THINGS* _Key Bible Text:_ *Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.* (2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Preacher: There's a difference between everlasting life and eternal life. Everlasting life is the life you have before you come into eternal life. Me: The difference is in the spellings. They mean the same essentially - both are derived from same word in the Greek. Whatever is everlasting is also eternal. Preacher: There's a difference between hardship in ministry and hardness in ministry. Hardship is suffering and being in lack while hardness is about the workload of ministry. (A commentary on 2 Timothy 2:3) Me: Well, the difference is in the bible versions. KJV uses hardness, but if you read some other translations, you find hardship used. Both mean the same. Preacher: There's a difference between Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost is the one that dwells in every believer while the Holy Spirit is specially assigned to Jesus. Me: Well, there was no difference until you mentioned it and even now there's still no difference. The same Spirit we have received is called the Spirit of Christ, and the Spirit of the Son! (Romans 8:9; Galatians 4:6) Preacher: There's a difference between children of God and sons of God. Children of God applies to every believer while sons apply to those who have grown up. Me: Children are sons and sons are children. We are all children of God and sons of God according to the bible. No difference. The bible says WE ARE ALL SONS OF GOD by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26; Galatians 4:6-7). Preacher: There's a difference between Saul and Paul. Saul was the Old man while Paul is the New man. Me: Not really. Saul was his Hebrew name while Paul was his Greek name. It's the same way Jesus is Joshua in the Hebrew language. MEDITATION: *Listen: It's important to know that nice punchlines are not the same as bible teaching. *DAILY DEW 6TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE WAY* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"I appeal to you to be shepherds of the flock that God gave you and to take care of it willingly, as God wants you to, and not unwillingly. Do your work, not for mere pay, but from a real desire to serve."* (1 Peter 5:2 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ Sometime in 2005, we invited a preacher to minister in our local church. He was highly recommended and so my Dad reached out to him. He spelled out what he wanted as honorarium. That was strange because up until that time, my Dad accepted invitations to preach without even thinking about honorarium. However, he agreed to his terms and made excuses for him. On the last day of the meeting, the guest minister suddenly veered off the plan of the meeting and started raising funds. In his words, 'God led him to do that'. When the meeting was over, he was entertained and handed his honorarium which he earlier demanded. Guess what? He wasn't happy. Later that week, the person who recommended him called my Dad and told him that the minister complained bitterly. He said he raised money for the ministry and expected something extra as honorarium. Ah! My naive Dad, who thought he was really being led by the Spirit to raise support for the church, was so shocked. A few years after, I got to find out that some ministers deliberately raise money in meetings they've been called to preach in just to have a share in the offering. What kind of motive is this? You even lie on the Holy Ghost just because of money?! While some are serving the Lord Jesus, others are only serving their belly. While some are in the ministry, others are simply in business. May we not be led astray by worldy appetites. Ministry is about impacting lives with the gospel. So simple! And there are those who say they will never go to preach in places where the honorarium isn't juicy and fat. To those ones we say, ANATHEMA (away from us!). *MEDITATION:* *It is necessary to stop their talk, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching what they should not, and all for the shameful purpose of making money.* Titus 1:1 (GNB)) *#Adebowale_Ibukun_Tosin* *#Wednesday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Daily_Dew_Devotional* *#Undeniable_lifting* *#GuestMessage* *#Hello_July* ❤ Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/07/rediscovering-way-iii.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 25TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE WAY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Rid yourselves, then, of all evil; no more lying or hypocrisy or jealousy or insulting language."* (1 Peter 2:1 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ I joined a local church in 2012, and in my usual way, I watched things for the first few weeks before deciding to settle in. Finally, I took the decision to join them and to serve; enrolled in the foundation class and began my journey there. What really thrilled me was their passion for evangelism. This was a local church where a major thing people consider before getting into courtship is passion for ministry. I loved it. Later, I joined the choir department and I began to play drums alongside another brother. I have some little pro training from classes I took in the past, understand a few rudiments, and so my playing was good enough. I'm rusty now though. Pastoring has stolen that from me. Haha. Now, unknown to me, as I was just busy doing my thing, enjoying the sessions, playing my best, the other drummer was growing envious and jealous. I had no idea! A brother called my attention to it and asked me to be careful but I just didn't see it. But one day, this guy literally dragged with me and got angry and refused to get up from the drum when it was my turn to play. I left him and engaged in the singing sessions. So easy. Me that even while playing drums, you'd catch me singing. It was never about drumming. After the meeting, I walked up to him to ask why he did that, and he gave some flimsy excuses. Well, it was already clear to me that he was jealous. So, I asked him to let us spend time together in prayer and study, because I know that would heal his mind deeply. I also offered to train him in my own little way because I was obviously playing better. In my exact words to him: 'I won't be here for long, but you will be here, so be sure I'm not trying to take your place'. He agreed but never was available and so the envying continued. He never learnt anything till I left! Guess what? After my departure from there, another drummer joined the church and perpetually benched him because he was still the amateur player that he was. A competitive mindset is the reason why you'll find yourself envying those you are meant to learn from. There are people who have been placed in your life to help you become a better version of yourself, but you can choose to resent them, get intimidated, or simply yield to learn. Even in the business world, where competition is a thing, people study the models of their competitors! Even in the business world... I've seen much envy and jealousy play out among believers. There are singers in church who just detest other singers because they seem to possess more skill. There are preachers who detest other preachers because they have a better grasp of scriptures. Some detest those who seem to know how to disciple men. Some even detest others for being prayerful! Someone might think, even in the house of God???? Yes, Galatians 5:19-21 was written to the church - the works of the flesh can be seen among the saints if they do not renew their minds. It takes humility to learn from those who are better and more experienced. *MEDITATION:* *Learn this: Don't miss the light in a bid to always be under the spotlight.* *#Adebowale_Ibukun_Tosin* *#Friday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Generational_Impact* *#GuestMessage* *#Hello_June* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/06/rediscovering-way-i.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9..

*DAILY DEW 18TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE MESSAGE* (VIII) _Key Bible Text:_ *With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.* (Ephesians 4:2-3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ You see, when people join our local church from other places, due to whatever reasons, I don't instruct them to stay away from their former alliances with their church. I've never seen a need for that! We aren't building a cult group. So, it was a big surprise to me to see people who left our local church to join another, based on my own recommendation when they gained admission into the university, stay away from us totally. I was later to find out that they were instructed to cut ties with their former Pastor and church. In fact, when one of them wanted to come back home after school, the pastor kept saying he cannot return because he has been trained by them. This my folk had to tell him he learnt the word in his home church and joined them based on the recommendation of his pastor. A lot of back and forth, he eventually came back home. I was really amazed. A friend of mine complained about the same thing - how everyone he recommends a church to eventually cut away and never return even after they are done with their one year NYSC. I can't understand this at all. You've trained someone for over 5 years and then they join another place for just one year and they are already in a fix; they can't return because they now feel they owe their life to the new church. This friend of mine was asking me whether he should also start implementing such a model and I counselled him against it frankly. You don't need to learn such gimmicks. Just serve Jesus! People come and go. Those who choose to stay voluntarily are those you can call your fellow workers. It shouldn't also stop you from recommending people when necessary. Let them keep building their personal brands while you keep serving Jesus in all simplicity. Honestly, some Pastors need to re-evaluate why they are doing ministry. Is it still about Jesus or about us? Some models of ministry are just too bad to adopt. In all your learning ministry, don't learn things like this. Think about the BODY OF CHRIST, not the tiny fraction that you are. *MEDITATION:* *"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.* (Ephesians 4:4-6 (KJV)) *#Adebowale_Ibukun_Tosin* *#Friday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Generational_Impact* *#GuestMessage* *#Hello_June* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/06/rediscovering-message-viii.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 13TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE MESSAGE* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.."* (Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Some christian parents pray for their children to grow up to serve the Lord and be dedicated to Him, but when their prayers are being answered they don't like it. Your child has chosen to join a local church that's quite some distance from home simply because she's led there and she's growing well in such a place, but your issue is with the distance despite the fact that you are not paying T.Fare. Distance yi noni Your child doesn't miss midweek services but because he/she gets back home late sometimes due to traffic or whatever, it's a concern and he/she must stop at once. "What is it gaan? Are you the only one serving Jesus?" You are very angry and mad with them. Guess what? Same parents will be jubilating and rejoicing when the child gets a job on the Island and has to go from the mainland everyday. The distance is no barrier in such cases. Even when the child says he/she wants to quit, the parents will still encourage him/her to continue. Go for it! It's worth it!😅 Should we talk about coming home late? I've seen parents stay up till 11pm, and even 1am (extreme cases), just to receive their children back home from work! But the child gets back home 9pm from church, and they just cannot take it. Church wants to have retreat or camp meeting, you no go gree. But if na business vacation, the God that answers by fire has done it. *MEDITATION:* *Before you pray such prayers for your children, understand what the answer might look like. It seems we have parents praying for children like Samuel, but cannot leave them to consecrate themselves to the service of the Lord like Hannah did.* *#Adebowale_Ibukun_Tosin* *#Sunday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Generational_Impact* *#GuestMessage* *#Hello_June* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/06/rediscovering-message-v.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends.
