*DAILY DEW 10TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE MESSAGE* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."* (1 Timothy 4:15-16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When we began weekly accountability in my local church, which I consider to be a sound church, it revealed how many people really need to develop a daily habit of feeding on the word and praying. I'd check people's study notes for the week and find out why they couldn't commit. For some the excuses were so flimsy, while others seemed to have legitimate excuses. And then I was able to counsel and encourage people. That brought some change. Why did I start doing this? Because I know from the bible that discipleship is not merely about coming to teach every Sunday. We are going to give an account of people's lives! It's important to keep people accountable; in fact, we have moved to daily accountability. We can be preaching hot and fiery sermons every Sunday yet people will not grow because they don't commit to the word through the week! I mean, here's a church where we labour hours in the word yet there were those who had no personal commitment to their growth outside the gathering. It was a wake up call for me. I was telling someone yesterday that the entertainment driven worship culture is giving us very poor feedbacks as a church. So, you have people who never study the word and pray all week attend church, and because of the powerful musical performances, the whole church is fired up, jumping and shouting and screaming, so much energy in the sessions! Then suddenly, you hear that the leader of the music team becomes an atheist or one of the pastors is having sexual affairs with members, and you wonder, 'with all the powerful services?' Truth is, it's a concern when very committed folks in church have such experiences. But another truth is that they were only committed to the activities in church meetings without a personal day to day commitment to God's word and prayer. See, without proper discipleship, we are just running a religious club. Good music will always stir people's emotions whether it's in a social or spiritual gathering. People who are so out of touch with God's word and prayer can suddenly become so ecstatic in a meeting where the atmosphere or ambience just seems right. It's a psychological thing. It's the reason why people are so excited in the meeting but then it all fizzles out after the service or next day. The only thing that brings stability and real growth is a daily feeding on the word and prayer! *MEDITATION:* *It's good you are setting up good sound and lights - they are cool for the media. But without solid discipleship, these are the very things that would deceive us to think the church is growing when what's really happening in the meetings is a pump of adrenaline - an impact that's shortlived.* *#Adebowale_Ibukun_Tosin* *#Thursday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Generational_Impact* *#GuestMessage* *#Hello_June* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/06/rediscovering-message-iii.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 3RD/JUNE/2021* *Your Body For His Glory* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.* (Romans 6:10-11 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ So, medical professionals treat masturbation as a natural part of human development, and some pastors have tried to give practical and biblical reasons to masturbate; so I have presented the pros and cons. From a biblical perspective, however, I do not believe this approach pleases God, and I have heard and seen the problems this habit has brought to both singles and marrieds alike. Now, the Bible specifically forbids every act of sex outside a heterosexual marriage between two consenting adults: adultery, fornication, homosexuality, incest, bestiality and lust as immorality and sins; but does not specifically address masturbation or self-stimulation. The FIRST godly problem with masturbation is that, for Christians, we must know that our bodies do not belong to us to do as we like. Our bodies are the temple of God. He lives in us. Some things like getting tattoos and vapping or smoking may not be explicitly called sins; but they are not convenient for believers. Our bodies belong to God first, and then to us. We belong to God. This is important. A person may decide that they do not belong to God, and that it becomes "okay" for them to do certain things; but once a person declares himself or herself a Christian, or a child of God; there are certain internal changes of heart and mind that makes us see our bodies differently. The Bible specifically tells us to present our bodies to God and yield ourselves to Him as those alive from the dead. So, first and foremost - we are not looking for what is sin or what is not sin. We are looking for what glorifies God versus what does not glorify Him - whether it is in what we eat, or say, or clothe ourselves with, or use our body parts for. Some things may not be sinful in themselves, but if they do not glorify God; then they are useless to God's children. *MEDITATION:* *Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.* (Romans 6:12-13 (KJV)) *#Ebele_UzoPeters* *#Thursday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Guest_Message* *#Hello_June* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/06/your-body-for-his-glory-ii.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 27TH/MAY/2021* *POWER FOR SHOW OR FOR SERVICE?* _Key Bible Text:_ *The Spirit's presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all.* (1 Corinthians 12:7 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ This is probably the most singular reason revival tarries and power demonstration is on the decline. A lot of people today wants power to kill their neighbour or colleague who is making life difficult for them. A lot more want power as a sign that they have finally arrived. So they can now prove that they are anointed senior men of God. Well, power responds to those who are ready for service & for the good of all. A heart of service is one of the key factors God looks out for in order to release His power in the life of a man. Service is the altar of sacrifice and selflessness. A lot of people want power so they can outshine their pastor or mentors. God is not committed to a desire that is not right before Him. God sees through our tears to the content and context of our inner desires and heart disposition. Some seek power in the spirit of competition rather than compassion. Some seek power in the spirit of religion rather than relationship. Other seek power to rise through their church's or ministry's organizational hierarchy rather than to raise the glory of God and to bring men back to God. The Holy Spirit sees through our heart. When the motive for seeking power is wrong, He is likely to overlook until a correction is made. Some people are asking God to give them power but they can't carry their bibles to seek for places where the Gospel have not reached in order to preach the Gospel. Others are looking for members of another church to covet and convert, and they think God will give them power to show that they have arrived and that theirs is the reigning place. God is not moved by such showmanship. MEDITATION: *Power answers to those whose primary goal is to serve God more and to enforce the will of God on earth as it is in heaven.* *#David Joshua Egbochuo* *#Thursday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Wonders_of_Grace* *#Hello_May* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/05/power-for-show-or-for-service.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends. *DAILY DEW 20TH/MAY/2021* *As You Wish* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Come near to God, and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites! (James 4:8 (GNB))* _Bible Insight:_ It is generally proven that one of the common ways to make a stranger relax and be friendly towards you, is to wear a smile and speak nicely. Smiles provokes smiles as laughter provoke laughter. A frowned face is not a friend of a smiling face. To be personally attractive to others, being jovial and expressive have been proven to be vital. To be attracted to others, smile more often and leave a nice comment or compliment unsolicited. Hard faced people find it hard to keep smiling friendly faces around. Likewise, if we must grow close to God, we must go close to God. We don't expect to be close to God while we are busy with everyone and everything else. God is everywhere but only the one who consciously studies His word and observes His ways will feel the assurances and blessings of His presence. God is ever available to all, but He is never close to all. On the cross, God through Christ Jesus, did all the smiling and niceness there is to do towards unworthy mankind. Right now, only the wise ones who reciprocates God's overtures will receive His attention and intimate blessings. It is as you wish. If you don't feel God, it is you who is far away. If you don't know God, it is you who is too busy for Him. If you can't see His finger in your affairs, it is you who have not invited Him. If He is not in your home, you're the one who locked Him out. Even now, He still knocks calmly at the door of your heart. If He is not in your hear, you are the one who never gave Him your heart to possess in the first place. God is ever ready. Are you ready? You are as close to God as you choose to be! MEDITATION: *_Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (Hebrews 10:22-24 (KJV))_* *#David_Joshua_Egbochuo* *#Thursday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Wonders_of_Grace* *#Hello_May* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/05/as-you-wish.html *Telegram Group:* t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends.
