*SAVE AND INVEST*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Go to the ant, you hater of work; give thought to her ways and be wise: Having no chief, overseer, or ruler, She gets her meat in the summer, storing up food at the time of the grain-cutting. How long will you be sleeping, O hater of work? when will you get up from your sleep?"* (Proverbs 6:6-9(BBE))
_Bible Insight:_
I remember I was invited by a friend to speak to a unit in one of oceanic bank’s branches on the habit of saving. The bankers were laughing at me. They asked me who saving help.
Some of these bankers lost their jobs some months later and were gasping for breath because they did not save any money while they worked.
I’ve seen this happen again and again. Some work for 10 years or more, earning millions per month and per year and once they lose their jobs, they become paupers. If you see them, you would not believe that they ever earned N100,000.
While the job lasted, they took all sorts of loans and bought cars that they were not qualified for, vacationed every summer with absolutely nothing in savings and investment.
If you are sure you will die young, then by all means enjoy for tomorrow you will die. But if you plan to live long and you have a family that depends on you; please, don’t be foolish.
Save and invest.
_MEDITATION:_
*Sloth makes you poor; diligence brings wealth. Make hay while the sun shines--that's smart; go fishing during harvest--that's stupid.* (Proverbs 10:4-5 (The Message))

*The New Purpose, Calling & Assignment*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."* (2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
PURPOSE: the “why†behind our lives; the reason we were created; the original intent for our lives.
As children of God, our purpose on the earth is to bear the image of Jesus. We are new creations in Christ and, therefore, have the nature of God, which is love. We are continually being renewed into the likeness of God. The Bible says that the greatest commandment is to LOVE!
In addition, we were created to shine. To shine is to live a life of faith - being fully convinced in our hearts of the Truth (Jesus, the Word of God, the promises of God, and Heaven). It entails always keeping the perspective of Heaven and living from Heaven’s reality. Everywhere we go, we invite Heaven to shine through us. We exist in this world, but we are not OF the world. We are called to be light in the darkness, never dimming the light within us.
How do we remain in our purpose? We continually surrender our lives, agendas, and desires to God. We come boldly to the Father and crucify our flesh daily, taking on our new nature, created to be like God - truly righteous and holy.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Questions:
1. Do you feel that you bear the image of Jesus in your daily life?
2. Does your life look different from those around you, or do you tend to follow the patterns of the world?
3. Do you tend to live for others’ benefits or your own?"*

*You’ll Never Wish You Did Less* (V)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."* (1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
_Jesus Was Not Joyless_
Despite all sin, suffering, and the sorrowful state of the world, Jesus was driven by the joy of completed mission (Hebrews 12:2). Despite harassed and helpless sheep, and a desperate shortage of laborers, Jesus promised a plentiful harvest full of the redeemed from every tribe, tongue, and nation (Revelation 5:9). This is the joy Jesus saw. He is not just God, but a God over his people — many of whom are largely unknown and do not know him yet.
If Jesus was joyous against all odds, so shall we his people. Let us fix our eyes on him and pray, give, go, and send in joyful anticipation that there is no greater joy than to have throngs of largely unknown peoples known by our heavenly Father. As John states, there is “no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth†(3 John 4). Let us walk in such a way that our heavenly joyfulness will one day include today’s unknown and unreached peoples.
Robert Savage said, “The command has been to Ê»go,ʼ but we have stayed — in body, gifts, prayer, and influence. He has asked us to be witnesses unto the uttermost parts of the earth. But 99% of Christians have kept puttering around in the homeland.†May we not be added to them, but may we boldly risk for the sake of the nations. We can rest assured that no one will ever enter heaven saying, “I wish I had done less for the nations.â€

*THE WORK OF THE WATCHERS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Jerusalem, on your walls I have stationed guards, whose duty it is to speak out day and night, without resting. They must remind the LORD and not let him rest till he makes Jerusalem strong and famous everywhere."* (Isaiah 62:6-7 (CEV))
_Bible Insight:_
As a watcher, your immediate place of assignment is your Jerusalem. You must identify with your Jerusalem. It is important that you do not neglect your Jerusalem.
Your Jerusalem is easy to identify. It is where you must wield influence positively. God must begin to use you at some level where you are primarily based or among the group you are involved in. This could be your home/family and neighborhood. This is the first level where you must wield your influence.
The next Jerusalem is your workplace. Whether it's an office or a shop, where you sell your wares, God expects a positive vibe to be yielded and generated from you.
The next Jerusalem is your local place of worship, either local church or fellowship. You can't afford to worship in a place like you do not there. *How do you contribute to make your place of worship stronger and famous?* What of that group, ministry, unit or department you have willingly identified with? Are you making it a better group, ministry or department/unit?
Yet another Jerusalem, is your local state of residence. God expect your light to shine in this Jerusalem as well. Another Jerusalem is your state of origin. Whether you reside there or not, you should be concerned about it. Yet another Jerusalem is your country. If you are a Nigerian, you're one for a purpose, whether you reside in diaspora or not.
God has an assignment for you in your Jerusalem. At each of these levels, God has placed you in that Jerusalem to make a positive difference.
How are you positively impacting your Jerusalem?
_MEDITATION:_
*“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth."* (Isaiah 62:6-7 (KJV))

*PEOPLE & UNITY*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?"* (1 Corinthians 1:11-13 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
When our older daughter was a child in grade school, one day she came
storming into the house, slammed the door, stomped into her room, slammed that door, all the while muttering under her breath, “People—
people!—PEOPLE!â€
Thinking I might be of some help, I tapped on the door and asked, “May
I come in?â€
The answer was an explosive “No!â€
“Why?†I asked.
“Because you’re a people!â€
Even children have their problems with people. One thing’s for sure:
believers who try to serve the Lord can expect to have problems with
people—and maybe people will have problems with them!
Moses had problems with people, so much so that one day he asked God
to take his life because he’d had enough (Numbers 11). Sometimes the
people you help the most appreciate it the least. Jesus healed ten lepers, and
only one of them—a foreigner—came back to thank Him (Luke 17:11–19).
When Paul was a prisoner in Rome, some of the Roman Christians, instead
of encouraging the apostle, tried to make things more difficult for him (Phil.
1:12–21). Paul took the loving approach and thanked God that at least they
were preaching the gospel.
Ambrose Bierce wrote, “There are two classes of people: the righteous
and the unrighteous. The classifying is done by the righteous.†His satirical
pen makes a significant point: sometimes we create problems with people because we adopt a “we/they†attitude. Everybody in the church (or Bible
class or choir or youth group) is either for us or against us.
_MEDITATION:_
*“Most people think of a heretic only as somebody who teaches false
doctrine. But the word translated “heresy†in the New Testament comes
from a Greek word that means “to choose.†It describes an office seeker campaigning for votes and asking everybody, “Are you for me or against
me?†There’s a willfulness about this attitude that often causes bad feelings
and might produce division. If we take the “we/they†approach, we may become heretics; and instead of solving the problem, we will only make it
worse."*
