*DAILY DEW 10/JULY/2022* *WHAT DO YOU SEEK?* _Key Bible Text:_ *"When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek."* (Psalms 27:8 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ WE live in a generation of "possessing my possessions". We want to accumulate THINGS as evidence that we are BLESSED! But who is asking what exactly is God looking for from us? Is God more interested in giving us THINGs than He is with GIVING us HIMSELF? God calls you and I to seek HIS FACE! Are you seeking HIM? Are you holding on and beholding till you see HIS FACE (himself/presence) emerge right before you? Would you prefer HIS face to HIS hands (His gifts,presents)? When God called the Psalmist to seek His face, his response was clear-- *"my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek"* This sort of response must come from your heart otherwise you are not serious:"Thy face, Lord, will I seek" Would you make that your primary focus and confession whenever you come before God? Whether as you go to church, or as you go to pray with or without another? Would you rather be content seeking God's face, his very mind, his plans and His will? Or would you prefer to seek what YOU WANT from God? To Seek the face of God, here means to seek what HE WANTS FROM YOU and not what you want from him! Beloved, change your approach to God. Don't follow HIM for meat that perish! Follow for the imperishable, His Presence-- and not his presents. *DAILY DEW 9/JULY/2022* *SAVE AND INVEST* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Go to the ant, you hater of work; give thought to her ways and be wise: Having no chief, overseer, or ruler, She gets her meat in the summer, storing up food at the time of the grain-cutting. How long will you be sleeping, O hater of work? when will you get up from your sleep?"* (Proverbs 6:6-9(BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ I remember I was invited by a friend to speak to a unit in one of oceanic bank’s branches on the habit of saving. The bankers were laughing at me. They asked me who saving help. Some of these bankers lost their jobs some months later and were gasping for breath because they did not save any money while they worked. I’ve seen this happen again and again. Some work for 10 years or more, earning millions per month and per year and once they lose their jobs, they become paupers. If you see them, you would not believe that they ever earned N100,000. While the job lasted, they took all sorts of loans and bought cars that they were not qualified for, vacationed every summer with absolutely nothing in savings and investment. If you are sure you will die young, then by all means enjoy for tomorrow you will die. But if you plan to live long and you have a family that depends on you; please, don’t be foolish. *DAILY DEW 8/JULY/2022* *To Be Kind is the goal-- Not Nice* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another"* (Romans 12:10 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Niceness and Kindness may appear to be identical twins but in reality they may race on parallel lanes. When people say "be nice," they almost always mean "please me now" while what is ultimately good for them might as well take a back seat. If you want to be nice ALWAYS, you can neither truly love man nor please God. For love, there's time for everything. A time to be nice, and a time to appear mean. Love is always kind. But love is not always nice. And kindness may run contrary to niceness. Kindness delays gratification for a higher good. Niceness takes immediate gratification as the only good. Kindness teaches you how to fish. Niceness keeps giving you fish. Kindness teaches you investment. Niceness keeps giving you handouts. Kindness will always meet your needs. Niceness will always meet your wants. Kindness compliments you in Truth. Niceness flatters you to make you feel good. Kindness is empathetic. Niceness is sympathetic. Kindness can be firm yet polite. Niceness is ever soft and always agreeable. Kindness knows pain may produce gain. Niceness detests all pain and loses the best of gains. Extreme kindness will give you injection or drugs for malaria. *DAILY DEW 7/JULY/2022* *To Be Kind is the goal-- Not Nice* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil* (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Being KIND can hurt especially when you know that what you are doing is in the best interest of the other party but they are not able to see it Niceness says “This fire will burn you if you touch it but I don’t want you to feel bad that I am not letting you touch it and so, I’ll let you be.” Kindness says “Because I care for you, I will stop you from walking into this fire by all means, even though you don’t see it.” On a personal level, more people will like you for being nice because you are easy to WALK OVER. On the other hand, many people will dislike you for being kind because your genuine concern for them sometimes translates to strict rules to keep them from getting in harm’s way. This is the “not-so-pleasant” kind of kindness. *DAILY DEW 6/JULY/2022* *To Be Kind is the goal-- Not Nice* _Key Bible Text:_ *Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.* (Colossians 3:12-13 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Too often nowadays, Christians have taken up the counterfeit version of that sentimental view of love that, of all things, Christians should be nice. Isn't Church about forgiveness? Are Christians not supposed to love others as God does......unconditionally? Well, God is not nice. He is ...............kind. Kind will cleanse a dirty wound. Kind will pour the Spirit on it. Kind will bind it up with the bond of perfection. Kind will give antibiotics and come to check in a few days if you are doing better. Nice? Nice will only pour water on the wound, and that is if you will allow, because methylated spirit will sting. Nice will ask you if you want your wound to be called a wound, and if you say you do not want it so called, because you feel it is just another opening.... Nice will call your wound a second mouth, or a spare nostril. Nice will tell you we have all had wounds, and to single out yours for treatment is hate. And even though it has mostly become a jocular statement, whosoever first said that *"Nice is not a fruit of the Spirit"* Must have been filled with the Spirit of God. God's love is patient. It waits. It forgives. It accommodates. It hopes. It confronts. It rebukes. It chastises. To insist on remaining as you are, is to refuse His love. For God's love is transforming.
