*Faith Series: Faith Does Not Look Back*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. And truly, if they had been MINDFUL of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.â€* (Hebrews 11:13, 15 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
To be "FAITH--FULL" you have to careful about what you are mindful of.
Faithfulness or trusting God is a result of what we fill our minds with. When Abram and his entourage left Haran, they never looked back. They moved as God directed them.
When Lot and his family left Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot's wife looked back because her mind had not left the forbidden place, earmarked for destruction. If we don't move with God with our minds fully stayed on God and his present leading, we risk the danger of looking back, which might be fatal.
The children of Israel desired and lusted for the food they ate in Egypt even when that was the same place that they sought to be delivered from. When God saves you, it is expected that you renew your mind so that you don't go back to the vomit of your past life. Men stray back into sin because their minds are not retrained to look forward and follow the Lord's leading through His word.
What are you mindful of?
_MEDITATION:_
*"And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."* (Luke 9:61-62 (KJV))

*UNSHAMED*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.â€* (Romans 1:16 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Whatever you do, don't lower your voice where preaching the gospel is concerned. There was a time you used to share the gospel on your street, but now you don't want trouble? Guess who's glad? Definitely not God!
You used to share the truth on your social media accounts but now it's all about politics? All about business? You don't want to be seen as a Jesus boy, just a business guy, tech person, football enthusiast, etc. Who gave you such ideas? Who says the gospel has to take the back seat for these ideologies???!
Why not just create a business page exclusively for business or whatever while still talking Jesus loudly in your personal space even as you share your business? Keep preaching, keep teaching.
Be known as an ambassador for Christ. Wear the badge of the UNSHAMED! If there's ever a time we need to be loud with the gospel, IT IS NOW! We are soldiers of Christ, not secret service agents!
_MEDITATION:_
*"I have a debt to Greeks and to the nations outside; to the wise and to those who have no learning. For which reason I have the desire, as far as I am able, to give the knowledge of the good news to you who are in Rome. For I have no feeling of shame about the good news, because it is the power of God giving salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first, and then to the Greek."* (Romans 1:14-16 (BBE))

*ForGIVE & Don't Hold Back*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.â€* (Ephesians 4:31-32 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
The strongest changes and best influences you will experience are the ones that start with you.
For instance, the grudge you feel comes from other people, but forgiveness comes from you.
This is why you HOLD grudges and KEEP malice, but you GIVE forgiveness.
Moreover, a grudge is an invoice of a debt. You want to PAY SOMEONE BACK for something they did
But forgiving them is like holding the receipt of a gift. You have given someone what they don't deserve, at a cost to you.
So malice makes you a DEBTOR, but forgiveness makes you a CREDITOR.
Forgiveness is richer than malice.
Love is stronger than hate.
_MEDITATION:_
*"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."* (Luke 23:33-34 (KJV))

*Faith Series: The Miracle Power of Faith*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"It was Faith that made Abraham able to become a father, even though he was too old and Sarah herself could not have children. He trusted God to keep his promise.â€* (Hebrews 11:11(GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
Faith is one of the keys to the miraculous.
Abraham & Sarah had both reached an age where it was physically or medically impossible for them to conceive & bear children. However, God made them a promise that Abraham would become the Father of many nations & Sarah, mother of many nations.
*"Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee."* (Genesis 17:5 (KJV))
*"And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her."* (Genesis 17:15-16 (KJV))
Was Abraham's Faith perfect? Was Sarah's Faith perfect? A comprehensive reading reveals that at some point both were not too sure of God's promise. See Genesis 17:17-22 where Abraham had laughed over it and prayed for Isaac instead & Genesis 18:12-15 where Sarah laughed over it & denied it.
God fulfilled His promise despite the seemingly imperfect Faith of the couple. As a matter of fact, they were adjudged to have received the promise by Faith as found in Romans 4:17-22. This then means that it does not matter how you start off as long as you grow in your Faith enough to receive God's promises for you.
_MEDITATION:_
*"And being not weak in Faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God."* (Romans 4:19-20 (KJV))

*Faith Series: The Long Sightedness of Faith*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"By Faith he lived as a foreigner in the country that God had promised him. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who received the same promise from God. For Abraham was waiting for the city which God has designed and built, the city with permanent foundations.â€* (Hebrews 11:9-10 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
Faith is more longsighted than shortsighted. Faith does not act based on what is present alone. Faith acts based on what is to come as well.
When Abraham was told of the promised land, he believed God and even after he entered into it, he did not "settle". He continued to live as though he was still searching for the promised land. Why was that? We would not have been certain but for Hebrews 11:10.
The Bible says that beyond God's promise to Abraham, Abraham desired an everlasting inheritance, a place whose builder and maker is not from this world.
We can't miss the message. Let's consider the following: *"It was in Faith that all these persons died. They did not receive the things God had promised, but _from a long way off they saw them_ and welcomed them, and admitted openly that they were foreigners and refugees on earth. Those who say such things make it clear that they are looking for a country of their own."*
*"They did not keep thinking about the country they had left; if they had, they would have had the chance to return. Instead, it was a better country they longed for, the heavenly country. And so God is not ashamed for them to call him their God, because He has prepared a city for them."* (Hebrews 11: 13-16 (GNB))
What country do you want to obtain its permanent residence? What citizenship are you conscious of while here on earth? Where are you looking forward to ultimately? While you are at it, how do you show through your life and conduct that you don't belong here? #Selah
_MEDITATION:_
*"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone."* (Ephesians 2:19-20 (KJV) )
