_Key Bible Text:_
*“For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?"* (1 Corinthians 1:11-13 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
When our older daughter was a child in grade school, one day she came storming into the house, slammed the door, stomped into her room, slammed that door, all the while muttering under her breath, “People— people!—PEOPLE!†Thinking I might be of some help, I tapped on the door and asked, “May I come in?†The answer was an explosive “No!†“Why?†I asked. “Because you’re a people!â€
Even children have their problems with people. One thing’s for sure:
believers who try to serve the Lord can expect to have problems with
people—and maybe people will have problems with them!
Moses had problems with people, so much so that one day he asked God to take his life because he’d had enough (Numbers 11). Sometimes the people you help the most appreciate it the least. Jesus healed ten lepers, and only one of them—a foreigner—came back to thank Him (Luke 17:11–19). When Paul was a prisoner in Rome, some of the Roman Christians, instead
of encouraging the apostle, tried to make things more difficult for him (Phil. 1:12–21). Paul took the loving approach and thanked God that at least they were preaching the gospel.
Ambrose Bierce wrote, “There are two classes of people: the righteous and the unrighteous. The classifying is done by the righteous.†His satirical pen makes a significant point: sometimes we create problems with people because we adopt a “we/they†attitude. Everybody in the church (or Bible class or choir or youth group) is either for us or against us.
_MEDITATION:_
*“Most people think of a heretic only as somebody who teaches false doctrine. But the word translated “heresy†in the New Testament comes from a Greek word that means “to choose.†It describes an office seeker campaigning for votes and asking everybody, “Are you for me or against me?†There’s a willfulness about this attitude that often causes bad feelings and might produce division. If we take the “we/they†approach, we may become heretics; and instead of solving the problem, we will only make it worse."*

*DISCIPLESHIP, GATHERINGS & GROWTH* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*“For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect [mature] man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ"* (Eph. 4:12–13)
_Bible Insight:_
If you had asked the apostle Paul what his goal was in serving God, he would have said, “That we may present every man perfect [mature] in Christ Jesus†(Col. 1:28). If you had asked him to describe the work of the local church, he would have replied, “For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect [mature] man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ†(Eph. 4:12–13).
*In spite of what some “success preachers†say, God’s goal for our lives is not money but maturity, not happiness but holiness, not getting but giving.*
God is at work making people more like His Son, and that’s what Christian service is all about. Your purpose in serving isn’t to build the biggest church or Sunday school class, the greatest choir, or the most efficient band of ushers. Your purpose is to build people of Christian character whom God can bless and use to build others. You can use all kinds of gimmicks and techniques to gather a crowd or build an organization, but that’s not the same as building His church.
The key idea is maturity. The individual Christian is born into the family of God and should mature and become more like Jesus Christ. As the church body matures, it increases in size and takes on adult features and adult responsibilities. It, too, becomes more like Christ. There’s no conflict between size and maturity, although all bodies don’t mature exactly alike. But where there’s life, there ought to be growth.
There’s nothing automatic about spiritual maturity. Paul had to pray for believers, share the Word with them, warn them, even discipline them, to bring them out of babyhood and into adulthood (1 Cor. 3:1–4). Paul wasn’t always successful in helping people mature, nor will we be; but with the Lord’s help, he did his best. If people failed to mature, the failure was theirs and not Paul’s.
_MEDITATION:_
*“The danger is that we exploit people to get things done instead of ministering to them so that what they’re doing helps them mature in Christ. Remember, in God’s eyes, the worker is more important than the work. If the worker is what he or she ought to be, the work will be done right and will please God."*

*STAY FOCUSED*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Keep your eyes on [Jesus], who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed--that exhilarating finish in and with God--he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's [there], in the place of honor, right alongside God."* (Hebrews 12:2 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
Don’t lose your wonder. After a season of absolute awe and new learnings about God, did you go through a phase where you felt like you lost that amazement? In Psalms 139:6 while talking about God’s love and knowledge of us, David says, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.â€
While you fix your eyes on Jesus, it is also important to explore and receive new revelations about God. God’s work is too vast for us to measure and too profound for us to fathom, however, God is gracious to give us glimpses of His Glory when we love Him and long to know more. These continuous revelations about God will unquestionably leave you in wonder, fueling your love and passion for God.
In the monotony created, many Christians almost lose the realization of the authority that we have as sons and daughters of God.
Don’t ever become passive about the passion you carried and casual about the mission you committed your life to.
What are some creative ways you can think of to remind yourself and always hold on to that “wonder
Start practicing them and list down all that amazes you. Psalms 139 holds a beautiful list of revelations about God. Though David’s thought was directed towards asking God to search him and know his heart is true, his revelation of God gave him hope that his God knew him better than anyone could ever know.

*DISCIPLESHIP, GATHERINGS & GROWTH*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord's coming is getting closer."* (Hebrews 10:25 (CEV))
_Bible Insight:_
'We don't need long sermons.
Just 10 minutes can be very edifying'
Me: Ah, satan we've seen you. Stop disguising. 10 minutes is edifying. 2 hours is more edifying.
It's only in the body of Christ soldiers are told to train on their own. Soldiers train together as an army! Get into the gathering of the saints. That's where the training is! Amen
After 3 years of ministry, Paul said to the Pastors at Ephesus, 'I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God' (Acts 20:27). They had been taught all they needed to know as touching the Christian faith. It was because they met daily (Acts 20:31). You can spend 20 years in church today and not even learn the essential and core doctrines in the faith because we have to keep relaying foundations. You come to church once a week and the world washes off the influence before the next week. Either by stronger cell units, family structures, or community level gatherings, we (must) gather more as we see the day approaching...!
A major part of discipleship is PHYSICAL OVERSIGHT. We don't just preach and teach mindlessly. There are people who get distracted, some sleep off, some start chatting. I'm always on the look out for people while teaching. This oversight also plays out during prayer. There are those who just stand and look around while others show no zeal at all. Such people are helped in the gatherings. This is one of the disadvantages of online streaming. Many tune in without actively following and we can't even know. Imagine if Jesus had streamed the last prayer meeting in the garden, He wouldn't have known that they were sleeping through the session. Take away physical oversight, discipleship is weakened and on its way out.
_MEDITATION:_
*“Research has shown that it takes at least 66 days (two months and six days) to build a habit that automatically shows up in our daily living. For most believers, their bible study and prayer habits are epileptic because they've never gone just one month without breaks. In the early church, this was easily achieved because they gathered daily. Long term exposure to sound doctrine and training is the only pathway to maturity!"*

*DAILY DEW 30/MAY/2022*
*COMMISSIONED* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be)."* (Matthew 28:19-20 (Amplified))
_Bible Insight:_
You see, my understanding of ministry makes it very hard for me to put musicians on such pedestals that makes them feel so entitled. Because you see, the person doing the most in the church is the SOUL WINNER. If you don't get this, you might need to read the whole of the gospels and Acts again. So, the major person Jesus is going to commend in the church is the SOUL WINNER. Take away his work, there will be no ministry! The soul winner is any Christian that has received training for the work of ministry. Do we pay those? If we don't pay people for winning souls, which is the major work in the church; the major work that makes the work of Jesus come to effect in the lives of men, then I can't be thinking of paying people for ushering, playing instrument, etc. Does that mean I don't value them? Oh, is money how we value people's service in church now? Who are they serving? Jesus? He values them! We value them too! And we value everyone serving the Lord freely in His house.
The church is such that the keyboardist is grateful for the usher, not that he feels he is the engine driving the ministry and everyone else should be grateful that he's around. Poor mindset. This is why folks in church who are growing in the word should be the ones to rather learn to play one or two instruments. Such men don't feel entitled in the ministry. They know they've been blessed and their service is nothing but gratitude. I really don't get this talk about, 'So with the much work and effort and money I invested in my craft, I should be playing in church for free?' Who is this one really? Are you to serve the Lord with something that doesn't cost you at all? Some left their families, sold their houses, forfeited career opportunities to serve Jesus but you have invested too much in music to do it for the Lord freely? Please, stop playing and enrol in foundation class. Funny people.
_MEDITATION:_
*“Do you know I learnt to write just because of ministry? That's what passion for the Lord compels us to do. Those times will be here again, when we will learn skills just to waste them on the Lord like the woman with the alabaster box. Amen"*
