*DAILY DEW 26TH/NOVEMBER/2021* *THE TRAGEDY OF THE MAJORITY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *Go in through the narrow gate. The gate to destruction is wide, and the road that leads there is easy to follow. A lot of people go through that gate. But the gate to life is very narrow. The road that leads there is so hard to follow that only a few people find it.* (Matthew 7:13-14 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ When I first read the classic poem _"The Road Not Taken"_ By Robert Frost, I think I sort of fell in love with it. You will love it if you are a poem lover. 😀 I think it caught my interest, among other reasons, because it ended with how the choice of following the path less traveled by (I.e. the unpopular path), *"made all the difference."* Beloved, everyone who will make a difference for God, must be a person who doesn't get carried away by what the world wants & thinks. *A lot of people do not take their walk with God seriously simply because a lot of people do not take God seriously* A lot of people are scared of standing out. If you are scared of standing out, looking weird, talking differently, and doing things differently, you will never go very far with God. Abraham proved this statement right. He never cared what others thought when he wanted to leave his father's house to embark on a Journey to where he doesn't even know! He never hesitated to take Isaac his only son to sacrifice for God. Today, even after Christ, He still stands as a Father of Faith! What are you scared of? Why are you so concerned about what others think about how you love or worship or follow God! God is never found by the crowd and band wagon effect followers. God is almost always going against the crowd and popular demand. Following hard after God is actually going against the tide. You need to develop a mind-of-your-own approach if you must find God and do His bidden. *DAILY DEW 25TH/NOVEMBER/2021* *THE TRAGEDY OF THE MAJORITY* _Key Bible Text:_ *And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.* (Genesis 7:23 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ You don't need a crowd to conform your calling or that you are doing the right thing. The most important key to knowing you are in the right is the witness of the Spirit in your inner man. Many people look for validation in the wrong place. The most important validation you need must or should come from God and that inner witness of the Holy Spirit. If Noah was judging by the majority to know if he was doing what was right, He would never have completed the building of the Ark, even if he had started it. He would have been discouraged. Listen to this: Noah spent about 100 years building the Ark. Yes! Well, some account placed the number of years at 70 years and others at 120 years. So let's use the middle figure. Even then, 100 years of building an Ark is no small matter or common Job. Noah and his family could easily have been discouraged, distracted and derailed from the task but because God had told him, he decided to stag the course till the end. Dear friends, stop taking the majority seriously. Just because a practice or decision or lifestyle is adopted by the majority does not and will never in itself make it right. _MEDITATION:_ *God is not and will never be a democrat. *DAILY DEW 24TH/NOVEMBER/2021* *ON FINDING PURPOSE* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.* (Matthew 4:18-20 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ One danger with trying to find out your purpose or what exactly you should be doing is that, should you find out, you will try to make it happen yourself and in your own time. This does not mean you should not pray for leading or direction, but while you pray, unless and until God tells you otherwise, keep doing what you are doing. And do it well! All through scriptures, there is not one single person who spent his time seeking to find out what his life's purpose or calling should be. Usually, God was the person who came looking for them and telling them what they should do. We like to call it divine interruption. Sometimes, God would announce their lives' mission before they were even born. This doesn't in any way suggest that God must come to you in a spectacular way for it to be that you are in the center of God's will for you. As long as you are a child of God and are daily loving and walking with God, that's fine; that's all that matters. Whether God decides to send you to save the whole of Asia or He allows you to sing in the choir of your small church, that is okay. There were many soldiers who fought the many wars that Israel had to fight on their way to Canaan; though we do not know their names, and God did not come to them like He came to Moses and Joshua, would we say they did not live lives of purpose? Many of us do not know who Lapidot is. But Lapidot was the husband of Deborah, the great prophetess and judge of Israel. Though his name was mentioned once in the bible, yet I celebrate him as a man who understood his place and chose to live the life of obscurity that God elected for him. _MEDITATION:_ *The scripture says that there is time for everything and truly there is and it is God who knows the times of your life.
