*The Church in Nigeria and the
'emergence' of GEN Z* (I)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer"* (Romans 12: 11- 12 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
You see, the Boomers I (1946-1954) and Boomers II (1955-1964) were such an amazing generation that understood the place of perseverance, endurance, and patience.
It showed in how they went through life and that's why they can't relate with a teenager committing suicide because he's under pressure to succeed. Some of them didn't have the best of marriages but you can readily see endurance as one of the key ingredients for staying together for as long. Of course, that strengthened domestic violence, abuse and assault in a way, but we can't deny that this was how they also endured hardship in life generally.
Now, this also affected how they practiced their faith. You can make all the promises to them and even when none comes to pass, they keep enduring and hoping for a change hence fewer people abandoned the faith because of such issues.
Let's also not forget that many of them also witnessed great revivals that made it hard for them to resort to atheism. If they knew nothing else, they were sure of God's power. Ask some of your parents, you'll be shocked to find out that even your birth and survival was a miracle - precise prophesies about your gender, name, issues, and also healings.
_MEDITATION:_
*"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise"* (Hebrews 11:39 (KJV))

*PUTTING EASTER INTO PERSPECTIVE* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!"* (Romans 8:11 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
Divine healing and divine health surely flows from the reality of the power of resurrection.
Severally, my word meditation and word medication has been anchored on Romans 8:11. I mutter the words of that scripture sometimes like my life depends on it when I notice that some symptoms wants to attack or is attacking my body.
I remind myself that the life giving spirit, the same Holy Spirit, that raised Jesus from the dead, is alive and present in me, and therefore any dead cell, dead organ, malfunctioning organs, tissues and ligaments, cannot but be made alive. They must be healed.
I love the KJV version as well. Especially when it says, *"He that raised up Christ from the dead SHALL ALSO QUICKEN your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."* There is a life producing quickening that comes from the Spirit of God living in your inside.
Understand that your body being the temple of God (via the Spirit of God) should not also be the building or abiding place or parking lot for sicknesses and diseases. How can light (The Spirit of God) and darkness (sickness) dwell in your body at the same time? Reject it!
The Spirit of God makes your bodies alive. Sickness and diseases therefore are not welcomed. Whenever they come visiting, invoke the provisions of the word of God. If they prove stubborn, also prove stubborn and remain with the Word.
_MEDITATION:_
*"When you remember Easter, remember that the resurrection of Jesus also means that you have access to divine health and divine healing just like Jesus enjoyed"*

*PUTTING EASTER INTO PERSPECTIVE* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."* (Romans 8:11 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
There are a number of things the power of resurrection actually means when put in perspective.
Let's begin from the literal meaning of Romans 8:11: *"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."*
This means that the Holy Spirit can give life to our mortal bodies. Our mortal bodies are bound to go down either by breaking down health wise or by dying completely.
The life giving ministry of the Holy Spirit includes making lifeless bodies come back to life. That's a literal resurrection. That's one key function or dimension of the power of resurrection.
Matthew 10:8 (KJV) *"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."*
The scope of work that Jesus handed over to the one who believes, includes raising the dead. That's possible only because of the power of resurrection.
We should never assume that this dimension of the Holy Spirit's resurrection power is a thing of the past. If there are counterfeit, then there is also the authentic.
_MEDITATION:_
*"When you remember Easter, remember that the resurrection of Jesus is not just a one off experience limited to Jesus, many others will experience the physical resurrection, just like Jesus by the ministry of the Holy Spirit"*

*PUTTING EASTER INTO PERSPECTIVE* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"All I want is to know Christ and the power that raised him to life. I want to suffer and die as he did, so that somehow I also may be raised to life."* (Philippians 3:10-11 (CEV))
_Bible Insight:_
The power of Jesus' resurrection was profoundly expressed by the evidence of the empty tomb, and the appearance of angels gallantly seated on the tomb, declaring:-
*"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you."* -- Matthew 28:5-7 (KJV)
If Paul the Apostle was determined to know Christ and the power that raised Christ from the dead, we would never make spiritual maturity unless and until we do likewise. However, the more important point is that there is need NOT only to know Jesus but to KNOW the power of His resurrection.
To belong to Christ without an understanding and experience of the resurrection power is to live a substandard Christian life. Such will never know the basics or fundamentals that comes with receiving Jesus as Lord and saviour.
_MEDITATION:_
*"When you remember Easter, remember that the resurrection of Jesus is not just a historical fact to share but a truth to experience and relive"*

*Be Vigilant*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh"* (Matthew 25:13)
_Bible Insight:_
Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."* -- 1 Corinthians 15: 58
