You can preach GOOD SERMONS but LEAD POORLY. You can be a group, unit or departmental leader, and still not really influence and impact the lives of those under you! You must raise people ...even God recruited you. Yes, it takes time. It took God some time to get you here , so why are you in a hurry really? Spend the time with them. Give to them exposures you were given or wished you were given when you were at their age, and become to them the leader you wished you had had. The better they grow, the higher contribution they make. Except God tells you (the Shepherd, or the more spiritual, or the more sensitive) to part way with a fellow (a sheep, or brother/sister, unit, department, or church), help develop them. Don't abandon them! You must have people in the flanks. Therefore, develop them ahead of time. Abraham knew this... *"Abram heard that Lot had been captured. So he called out HIS 318 TRAINED MEN...."* Gen.14:14 If after all these years, you're still doing it alone, it means you've been on your own all along. *DAILY DEW 13/MAY/2022* *THE MOUNTAIN OF FAMILY* (The End) _Key Bible Text:_ *"As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."* (Psalms 127:4-5 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In concluding this series, a few more things to do that will make your current and future family wield positive influence, include:- 6. A sense of honour that permeates it. Honour is the result of An atmosphere of godly upbringing; and loving your spouse and children unconditionally. This honour is further spelled as follows:- A. Honour for God. How we love and serve him. B. Honour for our parents. Don't honor only your pastors, also honor your parents. Parents-in-law are also yours. God's blessings flow to us through our parents too. Dishonouring our parents has terrible consequences. C. Honour for your spouses. Submission is designed for one another. Accept your marital assets and liabilities and manage them, loving your spouse unconditionally. Men, remember that prayers can be hindered when we don't relate with our wives with understanding. Unfortunately, some highly spiritual people and educated people still get this wrong. Marriage is a triangle. The quality of your relationship with God determines the relationship with your wife. When you have issues, sort it out before you go to pray or church. Husbands must love their wives unconditionally. Don't love your church members and business or business partners and colleagues more than you love or honour your wife. The greatest gift a father can give his children, is loving their mother unconditionally and vice versa. How do you invest in the next generation?? How far we shoot these arrows (our children) determines how far they will go. All your children ought to be taught of the Lord. Take pain to teach and discipline them towards God. The danger of wayward generation is alarming and thankfully avoidable only if we begin NOW to do the needful. To care and teach our children is one key way we honour God. A teachable child needs guidance and a rebellious one needs discipline. *DAILY DEW 12/MAY/2022* *THE MOUNTAIN OF FAMILY* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good. Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord."* (Romans 12:9-11(Amplified)) _Bible Insight:_ What else makes a family strong and able to influence the society? 4. Healthy communication is key. Intentionally create an atmosphere for a healthy communication, between parents and children, between spouses, and between spouses and in-laws and/or (other) third parties. Healthy communication is the lifeblood of love and marriage. As we learn biblical habits, the words we speak will make impact. Always bear in mind that Words that have been uttered can make or mar a home. _The How of healthy communication_ 1. Share your feelings honestly. 2.Learn to give compliments and affirmation 3. Learn to NOT apportion blame but develop solutions. 4. Develop a win win situation in your arguments and discussion. When an argument last too long because you want to win, someone is hurt. 5. Don't shout people down. Give freedom of expression. A home that practices this, will be stronger, better and bigger in the face of adversities, thereby being more influential. 5. Build trust. To be a family of positive influence, deliberately, consciously and painstakingly do things that build trust, and run away from things that cause cracks on the wall of trust. No family is immune to problems. *DAILY DEW 11/MAY/2022* *THE MOUNTAIN OF FAMILY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;!love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail."* (1Cor 13:4-7(GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ What else makes a family strong and able to influence the society? 2. A genuine demonstration of love: How do you learn love from your (previous) home? Did your mother and father show the love needed to influence a society? You can't export or teach or apply what you do not have. The Family that will wield godly influence that can positively impact on the society is one where you have agape love. You learn unconditional love (God kind of love) from home. That's the best place to learn/teach agape love. Effects of a loveless home:- 1. Violence. Quarrel and fight without settling. Build the opposite of this in your family. 2. Hatred. Bitterness. Don't give room to siblings rivalry and internal wrangling! 3. Marital crises. Father and mother quarrel before the children. Don't model a dysfunctional marriage or home to the children. It has far reaching consequences that may not be easily reversed. When resolving a conflict, enter the room, lower your voices and discuss in the spirit of love. And boundaries must be set such that you will know what to say or not. If you can't boast of a family that has taught you the right way, you still have a chance. Be transformed by renewing your mind. Challenge what you have been exposed to that is not godly. You can overcome the negative effects of wrong foundations. To build a family that can impact or influence the society, do this as well. 3. Raise or become individuals who are committed to each other. *DAILY DEW 10/MAY/2022* *THE MOUNTAIN OF FAMILY* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table."* (Psalms 128:1-3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ If you have heard about the 7 mountains of influence, you should also know that the family is the mother of the 7 mountains. If you have not, you can ask me later or google it 😉 The design of God is that influence and power will flow from the family system because the family is the mini church. Therefore we need to find out more about the nature of the family that can influence the world. Remember that you can't choose your family. God placed us in families. *It is for us to discover the blessing peculiar to each families* Marriages places us in peculiar families. Family begins by birth, and birth begins by marriage. Every family is blessed. *Look at the family you come from and study what is available and ensure you change what is not good enough and improve upon what is good.* A blessed family is a fulfilled, happy, strong family, whether rich or poor. What makes a family strong and able to influence the society? *1. A great sense of spiritual awareness and alignment:* Now, brace up for this:- *That Jesus is in a family does not make it a happy home* Jesus can be in your house yet wine will finish, you will suffer threats to divorce, and even experience broken homes. Infact, that you wedded in church does not make it a christian family. What then? What makes you a Christian family is obedience to the instructions of the master. Jesus being in your family is not the answer but obeying Jesus as the ultimate head of the family is the answer! A great sense of spiritual awareness means, having a Solid family altar, a spiritual disposition for hosting God. A time to pray. An attitude to God. Husband and wife consistently talking and sharing the word together. Then individually, husbands, wives and children having their personal time with God. A spiritually healthy atmosphere is a place of renewing commitment to God and confronting issues together. _MEDITATION:_ *"Men and families of altars are men of power. It is this altar that can make you impact your society.
