*The Church in Nigeria and the 'emergence' of GEN Z* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron"* (1 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
The kinds of churches that have emerged, from those that look like business centers to those that look like an outright social club, to those that look like occultism.
All these in the midst of a serious decline in bible study. They are almost, if not completely clueless on the essentials of the Christian faith. There's already a growing yet silent rebellion against the church among them but guess what's keeping many of them in church now? Fear or Honour for their parents, as the case may be. If they were to make a choice by themselves, many would be out of the system by now. I'm deeply concerned.
*~The Christian faith is practicable and it yields the results promised in scriptures. It has the power to make an undeniable impact on the soul of a man. In our relationship with Christ, and the gift of eternal life, which is the core blessing of the faith, there are discernible fruits of changed lives via the development of godly characters that cannot be produced by self will and effort - something supernatural.~*
Another side of this supernatural lifestyle is the experience of the leading and gifts of the Spirit beyond reasonable doubts. This authentic Christianity is the only thing that can bail this GEN Z. Because, see, they don't have time for anything not working...
While we've had individuals who challenged the church in every of these generations, truth is, they were the exceptions. As per GEN Z, that will be the norm. They won't hold back from disagreeing in the name of honoring fathers. The millennials still do this with much caution. They won't be sowing endless seeds for 24hr miracles that may never come. They won't bow to threats of devourer because you want to collect 10 percent of their hard earned money. They won't pretend to have seen God's hand when all they can see is man's effort. They won't keep quiet in cases of domestic violence. Their placards are ready.
_MEDITATION:_
*"It's time for the church to sit up - we have a generation to save. It won't come cheap. It won't come by suppressing their questions. They must be adequately answered. I hope this stirs up something in you."*

*The Church in Nigeria and the 'emergence' of GEN Z* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."* (Psalms 14:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Then we have the Millennials (1981-1996), who (that is, the older in this bracket) also saw some level of sanity in the church.
They saw consecration and power. They saw diligence with scriptures. However, it was already corrupted and contaminated. Though some of them were born in the early 80s, by the time they were growing up, it was in the midst of a growing decline in the church.
So, we have more atheists from this category of people than we have in the first three. Let's just say they were bred amidst confusion. I belong to this generation and I know how hard it was to pin point what the Christian faith was really. Truth be told, there were solid materials on the Christian faith from this era as well but they were mostly with the minority.
Now to the GEN Z. By definition, anyone born between 1997-2012 falls in this category. I've read about the prevailing characteristics of these amazing individuals and I must say my findings reveal that it's not all gloom and doom.
These qualities can be channeled rightly, leading to faster development and advancement in any area of life. In all my observations, this one stands out: they don't have time for anything that's not working. Where the faith is concerned, no generation has had it this bad like this particular one.
_MEDITATION:_
*"The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one."* (Psalms 14:2-3 (KJV))

*The Church in Nigeria and the 'emergence' of GEN Z* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy. Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth."* (1 Timothy 6:5-6 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
Then came the GEN X (1965-1980), this was the generation that began to witness a deafening emphasis on material prosperity as the sign of being born again and knowing God in the mid 80s.
By the late 80s, things had escalated so quickly. This is why, when you listen to anyone in any of the three generations above, you can readily hear them lamenting on how church is now worldly and is about money and fame.
They were right in the middle of the beginning of that decline. Most of them haven't left the church. Why? They are very hopeful that things will change because they've witnessed some level of sanity in the church before.
They know what we are doing today isn't exactly what they had. They didn't know all the truths, but they weren't as materialistic and they contended for the power of God and a need to live godly, while emphasising bible reading. They prayed a lot and read their bibles, of course with special interest in the psalms of David. Chuckles.
_MEDITATION:_
*"But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:"* (Ezra 3:12 (KJV))

*The Church in Nigeria and the
'emergence' of GEN Z* (I)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer"* (Romans 12: 11- 12 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
You see, the Boomers I (1946-1954) and Boomers II (1955-1964) were such an amazing generation that understood the place of perseverance, endurance, and patience.
It showed in how they went through life and that's why they can't relate with a teenager committing suicide because he's under pressure to succeed. Some of them didn't have the best of marriages but you can readily see endurance as one of the key ingredients for staying together for as long. Of course, that strengthened domestic violence, abuse and assault in a way, but we can't deny that this was how they also endured hardship in life generally.
Now, this also affected how they practiced their faith. You can make all the promises to them and even when none comes to pass, they keep enduring and hoping for a change hence fewer people abandoned the faith because of such issues.
Let's also not forget that many of them also witnessed great revivals that made it hard for them to resort to atheism. If they knew nothing else, they were sure of God's power. Ask some of your parents, you'll be shocked to find out that even your birth and survival was a miracle - precise prophesies about your gender, name, issues, and also healings.
_MEDITATION:_
*"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise"* (Hebrews 11:39 (KJV))

*PUTTING EASTER INTO PERSPECTIVE* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!"* (Romans 8:11 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
Divine healing and divine health surely flows from the reality of the power of resurrection.
Severally, my word meditation and word medication has been anchored on Romans 8:11. I mutter the words of that scripture sometimes like my life depends on it when I notice that some symptoms wants to attack or is attacking my body.
I remind myself that the life giving spirit, the same Holy Spirit, that raised Jesus from the dead, is alive and present in me, and therefore any dead cell, dead organ, malfunctioning organs, tissues and ligaments, cannot but be made alive. They must be healed.
I love the KJV version as well. Especially when it says, *"He that raised up Christ from the dead SHALL ALSO QUICKEN your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."* There is a life producing quickening that comes from the Spirit of God living in your inside.
Understand that your body being the temple of God (via the Spirit of God) should not also be the building or abiding place or parking lot for sicknesses and diseases. How can light (The Spirit of God) and darkness (sickness) dwell in your body at the same time? Reject it!
The Spirit of God makes your bodies alive. Sickness and diseases therefore are not welcomed. Whenever they come visiting, invoke the provisions of the word of God. If they prove stubborn, also prove stubborn and remain with the Word.
_MEDITATION:_
*"When you remember Easter, remember that the resurrection of Jesus also means that you have access to divine health and divine healing just like Jesus enjoyed"*
