*REACH A POINT OF NO RETURN* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*And then they abandoned their faith! It is impossible to bring them back to repent again, because they are again crucifying the Son of God and exposing him to public shame.* (Hebrews 6:6 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
After knowing or experiencing the following basic teachings:- 1) principles of the doctrine of Christ; 2) the foundation of repentance from dead works; 3) faith toward God; 4) the doctrine of baptisms; 5) laying on of hands; 6) resurrection of the dead; 7) eternal judgment. You actually move to the more deeper teachings, namely: 1) being enlightened in the things of God (i.e. receiving light in the ways of God); 2) tasted of the heavenly gift; 3) made partakers of the Holy Ghost; 4) tasted the good word of God; and 5) the powers of the world to come.
These are depths that once a believer reaches ought to continue in its realities and practice. By so doing, falling away from the faith becomes impossible. It is only when a believer does not appreciate these aspects of the faith (i.e. both the fundamental and the deeper principles) that falling away becomes possible.
Also a believer does not just simply attain these aspects but continuously grows in them and daily practices its implications and realities. Being enlightened in the word for instance, is not a one-of thing. We daily grow in the light of God's word. Likewise experiencing the powers of the age should come, shouldn't be one-of. There is no way a believer will key into these that he would ever find himself looking back or crucifying Christ again.
*MEDITATION:*
*And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.!* (2 Peter 1:5-8 (KJV))

*REACH A POINT OF NO RETURN* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*They knew from experience that God's word is good, and they had felt the powers of the coming age.* (Hebrews 6:5 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
How do you get to know from experience that God's word is good? By holding on to it and seeing it come out as true and reliable. God's word when put to the test and it turns out to be true, is the best experience ever. I have tasted of the goodness of the word. I have held onto God's word, and it has not turned out to be anything but disappointing. That's the most exciting experience. It is not an experience to have and yet turn away from God.
In the same vain, believer here in time have experienced the powers of the age to come. The age to come refers to the life hereafter. It is a wonderful thing experiencing that power of the life hereafter right here on earth. Imagine receiving the dead back to life? Or watching a deaf receive their hearing or a lame recover their walking? Indeed, several times, God shows us the power of the age to come.
How do we get to see and know these and still turn away from the faith? Only those who have chronic doubt or are deceived by the devil will allow such. Indeed, it is almost impossible to have the light of God, have the gift of heaven, share partnership with the Holy Ghost, experience the goodness of God's word and the power of the coming age and still walk away from God.
Instead, we press in...
*MEDITATION:*
*Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,!* (Philippians 3:13 (KJV))

*DAILY DEW 26TH/JULY/2021*
*REACH A POINT OF NO RETURN*
_Key Bible Text:_
*For how can those who abandon their faith be brought back to repent again? They were once in God's light; they tasted heaven's gift and received their share of the Holy Spirit.* (Hebrews 6:4 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
There is a point of no return in Christ. It begins from the new birth (the born again experience) and progresses to the point of no return in the knowledge and profession of Jesus Christ. There is a point you get to in Christ, where you can't easily turn your back on Christ. If you ever turn your back on Christ after getting to that point, you will not be able to return to Christ again.
Hebrews 6:1-2 explores the basics of the faith of Jesus Christ. However, it urges us to move to the deeper teachings and realities of the faith. These are teachings and realities that bring us to the point of no return in Christ, that is, we will not be able to turn our backs on Christ unless we are determined to crucify Christ afresh! And crucifying Christ afresh will mean, you were never truly saved to begin with.
Let's look at the three areas mentioned, which shows depth in Christ:- *"They were once in God's light; they tasted heaven's gift and received their share of the Holy Spirit."*
Hebrews 6:4 (CEB) *Because it's impossible to restore people to changed hearts and lives who turn away once they have seen the light, tasted the heavenly gift, become partners with the Holy Spirit,*
The light of God shines to reveal and deflect darkness, the heavenly gift and partnership with the Holy Spirit refers to levels of depth in walking and dealing with the Holy Spirit.
Anyone who wants to get to God's point of no return in Christ, must embrace light, heavenly gift and partnership with the Holy Spirit. These are levels that guarantees that we will not allow any atom of darkness to prevail over us neither shall we allow sin or anything else to draw us away from the faith- because we are led by the Holy Spirit who is in partnership with us.
*MEDITATION:*
*Matthew 6:23 (KJV) But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!*

*If God Permits*
_Key Bible Text:_
*And this will we do, if God permit.* (Hebrews 6:3 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Now listen to me, you that say, *Today or tomorrow we will travel to a certain city, where we will stay a year and go into business and make a lot of money.*
You don't even know what your life tomorrow will be! You are like a puff of smoke, which appears for a moment and then disappears.
What you should say is this: *If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.*
But now you are proud, and you boast; all such boasting is wrong.
So then, if we do not do the good we know we should do, we are guilty of sin. (James 4:13-17)
*MEDITATION:*
*We don't know what tomorrow holds but we know who holds tomorrow. And we trust him.*

*DAILY DEW 23RD/JULY/2021*
*The Fundamentals of the Faith* (VI)
_Key Bible Text:_
*Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and OF ETERNAL JUDGMENT.* (Hebrews 6:2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
The doctrine of eternal judgment teaches that all that we do in the flesh or while alive here on earth, shall be weighed on the balance by God's righteous yardstick. Many times, we gloss over the subject of judgment but it is indeed a very great matter before God.
Jesus preached a lot about judgment. He kept reminding his audience about its weight and importance:
In Matthew 12:36-37 (KJV), _"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."_
In Matthew 12:41-42 (KJV) _"The men of Nineveh shall rise IN JUDGMENT with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. The queen of the south shall rise up IN THE JUDGMENT with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here."_
The doctrine of Judgment follows the reality and doctrine of resurrection. We are not like animals that die and simply return to dust. When we die, our spirits and souls are reaped by God waiting for judgement while our bodies return to dust.
In 1 John 4:17 (KJV), it reads *"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."*
This is indeed one doctrine that all must lay to mind. Like the day of exam for students, and they strive to be ready for that day, we too must bear the day of Judgment in mind, and ensure that we shall have confidence when that day comes. And so help us God. Amen.
*MEDITATION:*
*For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?* (1 Peter 4:17-18 (KJV))
