*DAILY DEW 27TH/JUNE/2021* *PLAN TO SUCCEED* _Key Bible Text:_ *This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then THOU SHALT HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.* (Joshua 1:8 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Scandals, murders, robberies, rapes, political assassinations, marital infidelity, corruption, bribery, and so many other man made problems and vices are all a result of disobedience to God's word. Man in his self professed wisdom, derides God's word and refuses to hearken to His will and ways. Alas, the more individuals deliberately dance away from the truth of God's word, and rather walk in their selfish and instinctive ways, the more we self destruct and damage what God has given to men for their good. While this dangerous trend is not going away till Jesus returns, every individual must decide to walk way from the path of destruction and seek the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God is not hidden from men but men prefer their human and foolish ways that have caused more harm than good. Joshua 1 verse 8 calls us to the open secret of finding a good success. A sure plan to not fail, is having a plan to not ignore the word of God. A sure path to success in this world and the world to come, is making a personal decision to stick to the word of God. To know the word, to meditate on it, to read it daily and apply it unapologetically and consistently is God's idea of a good success. *DAILY DEW 20TH/JUNE/2021* *MAXIMISING HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS* _Key Bible Text:_ *Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.* (Colossians 4:5) _Bible Insight:_ For personal development to take place, there is a need for you to spend quality time. Personal development is not something that would jump at you. You must take a conscious effort to do certain selected activities. Did I just hear you say that there is no time? Well, that is why we all have holidays and weekends. Some years ago, we had an NYSC member who came for her Youth Service with WiGRadio, she decided that apart from work, you wanted to learn a new skill which was tailoring. That was the aspect of personal development she was looking at. By the time she was completing her youth service, she had not only become well skilled at sewing but she was also good enough to sew for me and for a few people at WiGRadio. Of course she got paid. When did she learn these things? On her CDS days. Another lady came for one year industrial training with us at WiGRadio after that. She had also heard the story of Corper Edwina and had been interested in learning about sewing. Without discussing with anyone, she started attending a fashion training school during the weekends and on public holidays when we did not have work to do. The last time I checked her whatsapp status, I saw many wonderful clothes that Omowunmi had sewn. When was the last time you learnt a new skill? You might say "but I am not interested in fashion designing", yes I know! Whatever area you want to develop yourself, all you need to do is to go online now. You can learn a lot of new things on YouTube. As a student, you can learn photography online and patiently wait until you get a camera. If you hear of a training that comes up during a public holiday, maximise it. *MEDITATION:* *"Stop using your weekends and holidays to just sleep as a student. There is more that you can do. Today is Sunday, what are your plans for today? Do you just want to sleep and have a nice time? You can do more. *DAILY DEW 13TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE MESSAGE* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.."* (Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Some christian parents pray for their children to grow up to serve the Lord and be dedicated to Him, but when their prayers are being answered they don't like it. Your child has chosen to join a local church that's quite some distance from home simply because she's led there and she's growing well in such a place, but your issue is with the distance despite the fact that you are not paying T.Fare. Distance yi noni Your child doesn't miss midweek services but because he/she gets back home late sometimes due to traffic or whatever, it's a concern and he/she must stop at once. "What is it gaan? Are you the only one serving Jesus?" You are very angry and mad with them. Guess what? Same parents will be jubilating and rejoicing when the child gets a job on the Island and has to go from the mainland everyday. The distance is no barrier in such cases. Even when the child says he/she wants to quit, the parents will still encourage him/her to continue. Go for it! It's worth it!😅 Should we talk about coming home late? I've seen parents stay up till 11pm, and even 1am (extreme cases), just to receive their children back home from work! But the child gets back home 9pm from church, and they just cannot take it. Church wants to have retreat or camp meeting, you no go gree. But if na business vacation, the God that answers by fire has done it. *MEDITATION:* *Before you pray such prayers for your children, understand what the answer might look like. *DAILY DEW 6TH/JUNE/2021* *CULTIVATING GOD'S PRESENCE.* _Key Bible Text:_ *"After that, Enoch lived in fellowship with God for 300 years and had other children. He lived to be 365 years old. He spent his life in fellowship with God, and then he disappeared, because God took him away."* (Genesis 5:22-24 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ What we need is God's presence in our lives enough for God to be fighting our battles. Imagine how Moses was defended by God Himself when Miriam and Aaron challenged and murmured against how it was only him that God was speaking through. Miriam suffered leprosy for a season as a result. God's presence in Moses' life was so strong that God will not allow him to be maligned or his character assassinated. Do you spend quality time in the presence of God? This is a key factor to anyone who desires to command or cultivate the presence of God. With the presence of God deliberately sought, cultivated and maintained, one will enjoy more from God and from being a believer. All we need is the presence of God! His presence makes the difference. How do you call down the presence of God? A couple of factors are helpful. These include service to God, giving to God to God's people, being active in evangelism, among others. However, most importantly, we call down the presence of God by worship and fellowship with the Spirit. Worship is not limited to an activity done in church. Worship is a way of life. Worship involves making time to sing spiritual songs and hymns. Worship involves meditation on the word. Worship includes studying & reading the word. Worship above all, is rooted on obedience to the Holy Spirit. To cultivate God's presence, we need to deliberately shun certain things, people or actions. Stop listening to those songs that will not invite the presence of God. Stop reading books that doesn't bring the presence of God. There are too many distractions in Lagos. Mind what you listen to or watch. Also deliberately do certain things, relate with selected persons, and take positive actions that will draw you closer to a consciousness of God's presence. Create a notice board where you write words that you want to keep before you. Use Apps that voice out the word of God. Memorize the word. Commit the word to memory. Memorize the Scripture. Live a life of prayer and yielded-ness. Make yourself vulnerable to God. Move closer to people who are excited to know God and take steps to be closer to God. Covet the gift of discernment. *DAILY DEW 30TH/MAY/2021* *FRUITS BEFORE GIFTS* _Key Bible Text:_ *Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.* (Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ As powerful and as needful as the gifts of the Holy Spirit are, we must understand that they must not be used as an excuse for the manifestation of fruits of the Spirit. To walk in the fruits of the Spirit is arguably more important in terms of how they help one align with the fullness of salvation. The place of gifts cannot be overemphasized with respect of service in the body of Christ. Let's say Brother Emmanuel is a believer who is equipped with the gifts of Tongues and Healing, for instance, but hardly controls his anger and is short on patience. He will most likely still be very influential in the local assembly because of His healing gifts especially. On the other hand, Sister Grace, a believer who is fully practiced and established in the nine fruits of the Spirit, without any gifts, may be quite respected but not as influential as Brother Emmanuel who has two gifts. Here is the problem, neither of these two believers are fully matured in Christ. In Christ, there is both fruits and gifts fully at work. Hence, the goal is to strive to walk in the fruits of the Spirit even as we continue to seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that comes by the manifestation of the gifts. Whereas the fruits are compulsory for every believer and actually a sign of genuine salvation in Christ, the Gifts are distributed only at the discretion of the Holy Spirit and based on the hunger and thirst of individual believers. MEDITATION: *But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control.
