*DAILY DEW 10/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Pursue Purity* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."* (2 Timothy 2:22 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Five things you must understand about purity include: 1. Purity is not a point we cross; it's an ongoing pursuit. Purity is found in the pursuit of God's presence. If you are not after God, you are not going to be pure. 2. Replace "weakness" with "wickedness" when dealing with lust. Our biggest issue is that we misdiagnose our problem. We call sexual sin a "weakness" instead of what it is – wickedness. We call it "defeat" instead of "disobedience." Therefore, we are "working on it" instead of "repenting." 3. Control what you consume. What we watch, listen to, and read can bring contamination to our hearts, causing them to be far from purity. 4. Flee lust; don't flirt with it or fight it. The Bible doesn't call us to fight lust but to flee it. Lust is stronger than you - you can't win. God's remedy is to RUN! Like Joseph did. The reason why many don't flee lust is because they lack fear of God. 5. Your tribe determines your vibe. Purity thrives within a godly community. Your environment is crucial. Bananas don't grow in Alaska due to the climate. *DAILY DEW 9/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Ministry Musings* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ's return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy."* (Philippians 2:16-17) _Bible Insight:_ Convenience, comfort, circumstances and situations are underated deadly enemies of the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. To *"Hold firmly to the word of life"* is one piece of advice that will be very difficult for anyone who loves convenience, comfort and circumstances & situations. Life is designed to get in your way until you are determined to push your way through. Waiting for convenience or favourable circumstances before you do the needful is a recipe for failure and/or under performance. The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. -- Luke 16:16 (KJV) Pressing, sacrifice and service are key non-negotiable elements of kingdom life or Christ centered living. For instance, recently I mused about my seeming struggle to keep up writing Daily Dew. *DAILY DEW 8/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Ministry Musings* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."* (2 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ No guest minister is responsible for building a local assembly. It is the work of the Pastor in charge of the flock. Special meetings carry much intensity as we sit for hours learning God's word and praying and yes, there can be great experiences powerful enough to position the church for more growth, *however, it's the regular weekly meetings that give depth to the flock.* Hence, the Pastor cannot outsource the growth of the members to guest ministers. He must be well trained and grounded to train men. Annual conventions and camp meetings are great but the church doesn't grow mainly on these. Also, when the people aren't aware of this, they honor guest ministers who show up once a year while despising those who labour over them every week by not showing up well for the meetings. _MEDITATION:_ *Ministry is the Father's business We have been called to mind this It must be done with every sense of urgency, And with much dedication & consistency. If what you're building isn't biblical and solid, money won't make it so. Money doesn't build ministry; it only amplifies what's being built in the ministry. Sound doctrine, prayer, discipleship, fellowship, witnessing, are things that build lasting works. We must always set our minds on these! It's always disastrous when money amplifies what's weak in substance. If the ministry isn't impactful without money, the minister shouldn't be thinking of money. *DAILY DEW 6/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Increase your passion for Jesus* _Key Bible Text:_ *"He turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Have you noticed this woman? When I came into your home, you didn't give me any water so I could wash my feet. But she has washed my feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. You didn't even pour olive oil on my head, but she has poured expensive perfume on my feet. So I tell you that all her sins are forgiven, and that is why she has shown great love. But anyone who has been forgiven for only a little will show only a little love."* (Luke 7:44-46 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ Don’t worry about what the lukewarm think of your passionate worship for Jesus. Judas represents the lukewarm person who’s been following Jesus for a little while but allowed their heart to grow cold and bitter. Mary represents the passionate lover of Jesus who will pour out everything on Him. When Mary poured out her oil of worship over Jesus, Judas was convicted and lashed out. He had to come face to face with the condition of his heart. Mary didn’t say a word to him. All she did was pour out her worship on Jesus, and that alone convicted Judas. When Judas rebuked Mary, she ignored him and continued to worship Jesus. We must not allow the opinion of the lukewarm to affect the way we worship Jesus. It’s all about Him, not them!
