*DAILY DEW 10/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Pursue Purity* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."* (2 Timothy 2:22 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Five things you must understand about purity include: 1. Purity is not a point we cross; it's an ongoing pursuit. Purity is found in the pursuit of God's presence. If you are not after God, you are not going to be pure. 2. Replace "weakness" with "wickedness" when dealing with lust. Our biggest issue is that we misdiagnose our problem. We call sexual sin a "weakness" instead of what it is – wickedness. We call it "defeat" instead of "disobedience." Therefore, we are "working on it" instead of "repenting." 3. Control what you consume. What we watch, listen to, and read can bring contamination to our hearts, causing them to be far from purity. 4. Flee lust; don't flirt with it or fight it. The Bible doesn't call us to fight lust but to flee it. Lust is stronger than you - you can't win. God's remedy is to RUN! Like Joseph did. The reason why many don't flee lust is because they lack fear of God. 5. Your tribe determines your vibe. Purity thrives within a godly community. Your environment is crucial. Bananas don't grow in Alaska due to the climate.
