*DAILY DEW 15TH/AUGUST/2021* *BEING IN CONTROL OR TRUSTING GOD* _Key Bible Text:_ *Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.* (Psalms 37:5 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ Over the years as I evaluate different things that I get anxious or stressed out about, there is one common thread in my response to them — a desire to be in control. It's as if playing out potential negative outcomes or imagining unsuccessful work projects puts me in the driver's seat. Nothing is going to happen without me being forewarned and prepared to face it. The problem, however, is that trust and control do not coexist. You can have control or you can have trust, but you can’t have both. This presents a challenge considering that throughout scripture, God's instruction to us is to trust Him. In fact, we often see that God's guidance does not include the final picture nor are all the details known. Scripture tells us that God desires our trust and dependence on Him along the way. Abraham was instructed to leave his country but not given a specific destination ahead of time. The people of God were told to step into the raging river prior to God parting the waters. Mary and Martha were challenged to trust when Jesus instructed the stone be removed from their dead brother’s tomb. Evaluate your heart and motives today. How much of your stressing and worrying is an attempt to be in control? Make an attempt today to put your trust in Him again. *DAILY DEW 14TH/AUGUST /2021* *PRESS ON TOWARDS THE GOAL (II)* _Key Bible Text:_ *I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.* (Philippians 3:14 (NIV)) _Bible Insight:_ To achieve a goal, it entails discipline, diligence, and Obedience in humbleness. If you take time to read the book of Philippians from chapter two, it really explains what a man needs to do, to achieve a goal. I will like to bring out some of the crucial things needed for a Christian that wants to get the prize without blame. 1. A believer must be sure of his or her salvation. He is not to be entangled with the things of this world in order to avoid distractions. 2. Commitment to the things of God, to the kingdom business and also loving the Lord with all of your heart, soul and mind. (Matthew 22:37) 3. Humbleness of heart to please God at all time. 4. Engaging in Soul winning as the heartbeat of God. Also being an exceptional candidate so as not to be affected with the plight of the devil or enemy is key. 5. Being like Christ, letting the mind of Christ also be in you. (Phillip. 2:5). It is only those who serve God wholeheartedly, that will be among the chosen ones. Don't forget that you must be led by the spirit of God always. (Romans 8:14). It is not enough to have the spirit of God but are you having intimacy with Him so that He will lead you at all times? We know that you have the better blessings that belong to your salvation.* (Hebrews 6:8-9 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ Being productive is the proof of growth in the faith. If you fail to use the opportunities God has brought your way to work on your intentional growth and impact, you are not going to like the consequences. God doesn't waste resources. His seeds and rains are directed to ensure your growth and productivity. He may be patient with us, and correct us in love but He expects results. Today's text and others before it, speaks so much about the need of intentionally growing and bearing fruits. It also makes clear the consequences of failure to yield growth and productivity. However, the charge or instructions ends on a positive note. God believes you will make it in Christ. God believes you will succeed in Him. God expects that as long as you continue in Him, you will end the journey of your salvation well. And you will fulfill purpose. Do you believe too? *DAILY DEW 31ST/JULY /2021* *BE PRODUCTIVE* _Key Bible Text:_ *God blesses the soil which drinks in the rain that often falls on it and which grows plants that are useful to those for whom it is cultivated. But if it grows thorns and weeds, it is worth nothing; it is in danger of being cursed by God and will be destroyed by fire.* (Hebrews 6:7-8 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ GOD blesses the soil that drinks rain and grows useful plants to be cultivated. In other words, the rain that God freely sends is expected to be properly utilized for growth and impact. However, on the contrary, should the soil fail to utilize the rain to produce growth and bear useful plants, it would suffer. Any soil that produces thorns and weeds will be in danger of being cursed and destroyed by fire. Men actually pluck out weeds and thorns, and gather them to be burned. In the parable of the sower, remember that the ground or soil represents humans or souls. When you receive the seed of God's word, God expects growth. Likewise, when you receive rain from God, God expects productivity. What are you doing with God's rain of health, healing, life, goodness, favour, mercies, opportunities? What you should say is this: *If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.* But now you are proud, and you boast; all such boasting is wrong.
