*You’ll Never Wish You Did Less* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Later Simon and the others went out to find him. When they found him, they said, "Everyone is looking for you." But Jesus replied, "We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came." So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.* (Mark 1:35-39 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
Unengaged, Unsent, Unreached
That picture showed me a lot about a world I did not know. I had never heard the title “Bibleless peoples†either. I knew people who choose not to read a Bible, but I had never heard of the 210 million who might have a desire to read God’s word, but could not, because one did not exist in their language.
And the “unengaged I knew of unbelievers, but I had no awareness of the groups in the world who are silently wasting away, waiting to hear about their sin and Savior. Presently, they have no church, agency, or Christian with a plan to get the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.
I had never thought about the “unsent†either. I knew Christ commissioned his people as “sent ones†(John 17:18), but surely he meant something or someone else. I did not know how starved the world is for missionaries and yet how large, and largely unsent, the evangelical church remains. I did not know my future involved only two choices — send or be sent.
But for those believers who do know of these peoples, we must ask a penetrating question, “Is it that you can’t do something, or that you won’t?†Most are unaware, but heaven forbid that the others are unmoved.
_MEDITATION:_
*“210 million people cannot read the Bible because one does not exist in their language.â€*
What do you think about that? 🤔
Are you unmoved? 🥺

*You’ll Never Wish You Did Less*
_Key Bible Text:_
*And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;* (Revelation 5:9 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
The world had never laid eyes on them before. Yet, there they were, in plain sight, for all to see.
As photographers in helicopters took pictures of the previously uncontacted or lost tribes of the Amazon rainforest, the fear, amazement, and uncertainty in their faces was unforgettable. Spears were in hand and fingers were pointed upwards. I stared at the picture and contemplated a people and tribe that had lived in isolation from globalization and technological advancement for much of the last two hundred years.
For the first time in my life, I looked into the eyes of a people that had most likely never heard (or had a chance to hear) of a Savior named Jesus. They were not unbelieving because they had said no to Jesus, but because they had never had an opportunity to do so. I came to understand these peoples were referred to as “unreached.†They were in existence despite my ignorance.
I came to find out this ignorance was shared by the majority of Christians worldwide. *Surprisingly, almost seven out of every ten Christians are unaware of God’s vision for the evangelization of the world, especially among the world’s unreached peoples.*
For almost half of my Christian life, I was one of these seven who was unaware of the approximately 8,000 peoples in existence who have never been evangelized. It was not until a cold day in Minneapolis, during a Perspectives on the World Christian Movement class, that I viewed a picture of one of these 8,000 that spoke a thousand words and confronted me with real faces of faithless peoples in need of forgiveness and freedom.

*NO DRIFTING*
_Key Bible Text:_
*It's crucial that we keep a firm grip on what we've heard so that we don't drift off. If the old message delivered by the angels was valid and nobody got away with anything, do you think we can risk neglecting this latest message, this magnificent salvation? First of all, it was delivered in person by the Master, then accurately passed on to us by those who heard it from him. All the while God was validating it with gifts through the Holy Spirit, all sorts of signs and miracles, as he saw fit.* (Hebrews 2:1-4 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
AT the end of one school semester, my wife and I picked up our daughter from her school 100 kilometers (60 miles) away. On our way back home we detoured to a nearby beach resort for snacks. While enjoying our time there, we watched the boats at the seashore. Usually, they are anchored to prevent them from drifting away, but I noticed one boat drifting unhindered, among the others-- slowly and steadily making its way out to sea.
As we drove home, I reflected on the timely caution given to believers in the book of Hebrews: "We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away." (Hebrews 2:1) We have good reason to stay close. The author of Hebrews says that while the Mosaic law was reliable and needed to be obeyed, the message of the Son of God is far superior. Our salvation is "so great" in Jesus that He shouldn't be ignored. (Hebrews 2:3))
Drifting in our relationship with God is hardly noticeable at first; it happens gradually. *_However, spending time talking, with Him in prayer and reading His word, confessing our wrongs to Him and interacting with other followers of Jesus can help us stay anchored in Him._* As we connect with the Lord regularly, He will be faithful to sustain us, and we can avoid drifting away.
_MEDITATION:_
*“WHAT do you know about Jesus that keeps you wanting to be near Him?"*
To avoid drifting away from God, stay anchored to the Rock.

*THE WORK OF THE WATCHERS* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*“I've posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem. Day and night they keep at it, praying, calling out, reminding GOD to remember. They are to give him no peace until he does what he said, until he makes Jerusalem famous as the City of Praise."* (Isaiah 62:6-7 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
While you are busy admiring another man's Jerusalem, God is counting on you, to make your Jerusalem a praise in the earth, in other words, strong and famous, doing mighty things and being well spoken of. Are you still with me?
Why are you busy criticizing and condemning when God is expecting you to use the same voice and time to intercede for that same Jerusalem of yours that you are castigating and writing off? God wouldn't be asking you to stand your watch as a watchman if your Jerusalem was perfect!
Your workplace, office, family, church, fellowship, volunteer organization, or nation can be better. But you are busy looking for who to make it better for you when God is counting on you to contribute your quota towards the positive transformation of your Jerusalem?
Don't play the ostrich. Quit the blame game. Fold your sleeves, and set to work. Make your membership become a blessing in your Jerusalem. That other man's Jerusalem you are desiring was made desirable by another person who woke up to his or her work as a watcher over her/his Jerusalem! Wake up to your own work over your Jerusalem as a watchman!
Pray! But remember that the watchers' work does not begin and end in praying. You must also do your part. In Ezekiel 3:17 (KJV), it says *"Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me."* Your duties will include to warn, in the sense of, preaching the gospel of the positive change you desire (which should align with God's will) until you see it come to pass. And remember, when Jesus asked His disciples to pray for Laborers into His harvest, He was speaking to already enlisted labourers. So your praying without working towards that object is hypocrisy in action! Don't do that! Pray but roll up your sleeves and get to work too!
_MEDITATION:_
*“But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?."* (James 2:20 (KJV))

*THE WORK OF THE WATCHERS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Jerusalem, on your walls I have stationed guards, whose duty it is to speak out day and night, without resting. They must remind the LORD and not let him rest till he makes Jerusalem strong and famous everywhere."* (Isaiah 62:6-7 (CEV))
_Bible Insight:_
As a watcher, your immediate place of assignment is your Jerusalem. You must identify with your Jerusalem. It is important that you do not neglect your Jerusalem.
Your Jerusalem is easy to identify. It is where you must wield influence positively. God must begin to use you at some level where you are primarily based or among the group you are involved in. This could be your home/family and neighborhood. This is the first level where you must wield your influence.
The next Jerusalem is your workplace. Whether it's an office or a shop, where you sell your wares, God expects a positive vibe to be yielded and generated from you.
The next Jerusalem is your local place of worship, either local church or fellowship. You can't afford to worship in a place like you do not there. *How do you contribute to make your place of worship stronger and famous?* What of that group, ministry, unit or department you have willingly identified with? Are you making it a better group, ministry or department/unit?
Yet another Jerusalem, is your local state of residence. God expect your light to shine in this Jerusalem as well. Another Jerusalem is your state of origin. Whether you reside there or not, you should be concerned about it. Yet another Jerusalem is your country. If you are a Nigerian, you're one for a purpose, whether you reside in diaspora or not.
God has an assignment for you in your Jerusalem. At each of these levels, God has placed you in that Jerusalem to make a positive difference.
How are you positively impacting your Jerusalem?
_MEDITATION:_
*“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth."* (Isaiah 62:6-7 (KJV))
