*DAILY DEW 9TH/JUNE/2021* *REDISCOVERING THE MESSAGE* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him"* (Proverbs 20:6-7 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When people talk about collecting mantles, they are simply speaking of a transfer of affluence and popularity; becoming a global voice. That's why the examples are always about how Bishop Idahosa passed the mantle to Bishop Oyedepo. Or how Pastor Kathryn Kulman passed the mantle to Pastor Benny Hinn. You don't find people waiting to collect mantles from a faithful labourer of Christ in some remote region, whom they know. It is always about popular men of God. It is a man-made idea. 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 are classics on the differences in functions in the body. Everyone should stay in his place and do what God has called him to do. While some are queuing to collect mantles, some are already doing what God has called them to do. They may never even be under the spotlight; but they will fulfill their ministry in Christ! While we are busy naming God's Generals, God is busy recognising faithful servants - men who stayed in their place and did His work all for His glory alone - popular or not. *DAILY DEW 2ND/JUNE/2021* *Your Body For His Glory* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) _Bible Insight:_ Masturbation is common among both men and women; but is commoner in men who seemingly get more easily excited by erotic thoughts and sites. It is used as a means of satisfying sexual urges and desires. Masturbation is the process of stimulating the genital organs of oneself for sexual pleasure. Some medical and paramedical sources say it is healthy if done two to three times a week. The advantages are said to be the following 1. gets rid of dead sperm; healthier sperm 2. improves blood flow 3. it is said to be a natural pain killer??? 4. improves sleep 5. no chances of pregnancy 6. no chances of sexually transmitted diseases However, these sources also say that when it is practised for more than 7 times a week (more than once a day), it has become an addiction (masturbation addiction). Masturbation creates neuropsychological dependence where those involved in it behave like drug addicts. Some cannot go more than a few hours without it. Some even get to the point of using new techniques and devices to increase pleasure, which end up damaging the male reproductive organs. *MEDITATION:* So the problems include: 1. Addiction and dysfunction 2. Feelings of guilt 3. Heightened sexual urges 4. Relationship apathy 5. *DAILY DEW 26TH/MAY/2021* *PRAYER & POWER* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:* (1 Corinthians 14:18 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Remember we have two things as a factor attached to prayer that brings power-- faith & righteous living. In other words, if we must excel in power manifestation, we must be not only prayerful but be growing in faith and in fruits of righteousness. Pause. Remember the Holy Spirit is the God of Power. I mean the source of power for the believer. Do you remember the most common gift that many refer to as the evidence of baptism with the Spirit!? Yes-- Gift of Speaking in other tongues. Let's just call it Tongues. Now, note this: This is about the most received Gift of the Holy Spirit. It is important to note that though many argue that it is the evidence of Baptism with the Holy Spirit, I am more interested in the role that it plays in the believer's command or pursuit of Power. Now this is the part many miss out. Pay attention please. Tongues should be received as The Holy Spirit's welcome pack or landing path in the believer's life. I mean, it is meant to propel us to other gifts. How? Tongues is a language of prayer and deep communication with God. Spending time tonguing provokes tremendous power. This therefore should be sought as the means by which a believer pursues or covet other gifts. Tongues is not a sign that you have arrived nor is it a place to remain content with without more. Most disciples who were known to posses Tongues, had other gifts besides tongues. Now back to faith and righteous living. Jude said *But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,* (Jude 1:20 (KJV)) This means we build up our faith when we pray in Tongues. Faith built up, in turn releases greater power. The constant practice of Tonguing when properly applied should elevate our minds to be closer to God thereby making us live righteously effortlessly. At this level, prayer becomes a fast and effective launchpad for power manifestation. MEDITATION: *Tongue in Prayer + Faith + Righteousness = Power. Remember: Tongue, faith, and righteousness are all connected. If anyone suffer, the rest will. If anyone increases, the rest should. *DAILY DEW 19TH/MAY/2021* *Is something missing?* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus."* (Acts 4:29-30 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ At the gate of the temple called Beautiful, Peter and John were about to enter the Temple to pray when a lame man who sat at the gate begged for Arms. This led to the locus classicus case recorded in "Acts 3:6 (KJV)-Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." The miracle that ensued actually caused a good trouble for Peter and John. "And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide." Acts 4:1-3 (KJV) Meanwhile, those who heard their preaching had already believed; about five thousand men. This angered the Sadducees and other religious leaders. However because of the healing that happened on the lame, they could not do anything against them save to warn and threaten them to not preach Jesus anymore. Of course, Peter and John replied that they would rather obey God than men. Finally, after their released, they went to their brethren and held a powerful prayer meeting. The key request to God was that there would be more miracles, signs and wonders so that they can preach the word of God more boldly. This shows that notable miracles emboldens us to preach the Gospel more aggressively and without apology. If the Apostles asked for this, why shouldn't we?
