*DAILY DEW 16/APRIL/2022* *Judas Cash-out? (Snippet on prophecies)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."* (2 Peter 1:20 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When we read about the events that surround the birth of Christ, we are often tempted to believe that every occurrence were orchestrated in the Spirit and those at the time were acting by default. And this claims have quite some passages that can back them up such as Matthew 1:23-- "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Likewise, Matthew 2:5,6, 16-- "And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Reading 2:17,18 further it says *"Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not. Finally, 2:23 says "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene." There are several of these passages but let's build on this few; God is omnipresent, omnipotent etc..He does not live in time. He had seen in the future that a virgin would conceive the saviour, that Herod would kill the children under the ages of two and that one of the saviour's disciples would betray him...therefore he revealed those to the prophets of old..The later characters of this roles; Mary, Herod, Judas etc all acted on their own accords. Even when Jesus told Peter that he would deny him thrice before cockcrow it Was because Jesus had by Spirit seen how that Peter would deny him and not that Peter denied him to fulfil what Jesus said. *DAILY DEW 15/APRIL/2022* *PUTTING EASTER INTO PERSPECTIVE* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."* (John 19:29-30 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ What actually finished on the cross?! Why would Jesus make such a statement just before His last breath? What is the significance of Easter? I will like to put Easter in its proper perspective. "If you get something in perspective or into perspective, you judge its real importance by considering it in relation to everything else. If you get something out of perspective, you fail to judge its real importance in relation to everything else. Remember to keep things in perspective", says Google. One of the things Jesus settled (i.e finished) on the cross was the penalty for sin. *"For the wages of sin is death....."* Jesus died because He took upon himself the judgment for our sins. He took our place-- we deserved to death. But Jesus protested, saying, "It is Finished" to the death that would have rightfully laid its icy hands on us. Hallelujah! *"But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."* (Romans 6:23 (KJV)) Jesus indeed, rather than allowing us to face the death that is due us, gave us the gift of eternal life. This eternal life is deeper than life. This must also inform us that the death Jesus defeated wasn't just a mere death of stoppage of breath and inactivity of the body in perpetuity. This death is something more sinister & eternally dangerous. Thus, no wonder, Jesus had to replace it with "eternal life". God be forever praised in the highest. We, who are nothing but victims of death, have been redeemed and given the gift of eternal life instead. *DAILY DEW 13/APRIL/2022* *TAKING THE GATES OF ECONOMY* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them"* (Deuteronomy 28:13 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The gift of service will make a way for you if you must take the gates of economy & finance. Every value served opens an opportunity for financial remuneration. To significantly impact the economy, we must render significant values that attracts remuneration while bettering the lives of people. Serve loyally in any worthwhile capacity by giving quality services and products at a cheap price. Build a team. Create an avenue for entrepreneurship and employment, around a common business goal. To take over any gate, especially the gate of economy, the following points are key: 1. Obedience to God is the first law in taking over territories. 2. Courage to challenge the status quo and courage to challenge oneself to step up and do more, render more impactful value driven services and products. Courage to prove to your investors that you are investable. Courage to prove to your customers that you are worth their money. To take over the gate of economy, one must take calculated risks. Having courage is a risk so also is being obedient. Remember that failure is like a sling shot; you must go back to go farther forward. Many Christians lack the courage to go forward, we are easily stuck with familiar terrains and routine. We must break away from our comfort zones if we must go forward. Don't be afraid when thoughts come persistently. They may be a link to your next best product or service. *DAILY DEW 12/APRIL/2022* *ARE YOU A SOLUTION OR THE PROBLEM?* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"You are the light of the world. A town put on a hill may be seen by all. And a burning light is not put under a vessel, but on its table; so that its rays may be shining on all who are in the house. Even so let your light be shining before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."* (Matthew 5:14-16 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ Pastors are not going to change the situation of anything by doing what YOU are supposed to do. You in the office You in entertainment You in government You in IT You in the association You in the market place You in the civil service You in fashion You in politics You at home If you call yourself a child of God. It is not what we do on Sundays that is killing the nation, but what you do from Monday to Friday! Of course, if a pastor has committed a crime against society, he or she should be handed over to the authorities without long talk. But don't be found among those who have so much excitement when there is negative news about God's people. Let this be your principle, if you are a Christian: if something, anything at all, on the news or in your circle, bothers you... *Pray. Talk to the Father about it. Ask Him to help His church and remove the bad eggs and heal the sick fellows. Ask Him to fill your heart with His love and compassion for all men especially those of the household of faith, and to fill your mind with His causes, missions, & purposes. *DAILY DEW 11/APRIL/2022* *ARE YOU A SOLUTION OR THE PROBLEM?* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"You who say that a man may not be untrue to his wife, are you true to yours? you who are a hater of images, do you do wrong to the house of God? You who take pride in the law, are you doing wrong to the honour of God by behaviour which is against the law? For the name of God is shamed among the Gentiles because of you, as it is said in the holy Writings."* (Romans 2:22-24 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ Are there bad pastors? Yes. Are there false prophets? Verily Are there false brethren? Certainly But for every charlatan, there is a true man of God For every deceitful worker, there is a genuine pastor For every place where the word of God is abused, there is a place where lives are being transformed. For every one who called himself, there is one whom God called. And the ratio is here stated in favour of the former. God is doing a lot through the church. People really helped. Lives restored. Families supported. Marriages saved. Youths empowered. The word of God taught. Many many people bettered. Hospital bills paid. Businesses set up. Many mouths fed. Many scholarships paid. Communities impacted. Community service per excellence. If you find that you don't know or talk about these things but once there is a bad story here or there, an accusation here or there.....then you find your voice "Ah jus wanto stan for what is right!" "Dis pipu shud be hed akantabu!" You, even you?! Hmm...Oh child of God! Is it the church who falsifies arrival time at the office and writes 7:44am instead of 8:35? Is it the church who shunts queues? Is it the church who teaches you to lie to your boss and shortchange your employees? Is it the church that is embezzling company and government funds? Is it the church that should bring up your children? Is it the church that should take in the homeless? Or is it you? Oh child of God! Are you like Daniel and his three friends who would not defile himself? Or like Joseph who would not sleep with his employer or any woman in the workplace, won't stare at her or him even twice, and flee from any and all advances instead of calling it 'favor" Or like Esther who fasted and prayed in her high office to overthrow an unrighteous decree Or like Nehemiah who used his office to stand for the people of God? _MEDITATION:_ *"Because none of these people were Levites or Priests or Pastors or Preachers or any such thing. They were not cell leaders, specially anointed prophets, or missionaries.
