The world system is not designed to enhance and ease your obedience to God. The goal of the enemy is to set us up, and give us every reason to bow down before the golden images of this world. As Jesus was tempted, so will every follower of Jesus be tempted. None will be exempted. As a matter of fact, even though from the devil, temptations when overcomed proves our allegiance and loyalty to God. Your being a faithful believer can only be ascertained and certified after you have faced and overcomed the set up to bow to the golden images of money, wealth, women, wine, fame, etc Do NOT expect the world to be easy on you. Do not expect the world to understand that you are trying or willing to be an obedient Christian. The world is out to make you do otherwise. Whether at your work place, in your home, in the Church, and anywhere as long as it is this earth, you will always be faced with golden images, attempting to pull you away from your obedience to Christ and application of His word. It is your responsibility to understand this and decide ahead of time, that whenever the options are placed before you, whenever the chips are down, you MUST "rebel" and stand against all odds in favour of God and His word! *DAILY DEW 7/MARCH/2023* *The Tragedy of Knowledge Without Application* _Key Bible Text:_ *"But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience)."* (James 1:25 (Amplified)) _Bible Insight:_ In counselling Christian couples, I usually let them know that the flesh is complex, and that it's in the fruit of the Spirit they'll find simplicity. Most marriage issues are as a result of walking in the flesh, but people throw around fancy words to cover up. If you walk in the Spirit, you will be simple, and that simplicity is a priceless ingredient for building a solid home as believers. You can't walk in the Spirit and be selfish, unkind, unfaithful, bitter, full of wrath, unforgiving, impatient, bossy, etc. You can't be walking in the Spirit and be assaulting your spouse verbally or physically. [You can't be walking in the spirit and be claiming to be incompatible with your spouse]. These are traits ruining marriages in the church today. Insert fruit of the Spirit, you'll survive every challenge. *Hence, spiritual growth must never be ignored [especially begining from your single hood days ] That's how to have Christian homes.* Whenever you grab the mic to lead songs, everywhere catches fire. Whenever you're asked to give a short exhortation, the building would shake because you'd preach a storm! But as a husband, you're an afflicter in your home. As a wife, you're too contentious. In your neighbourhood, everyone knows you're not an easy fellow. You're vengeful, vindictive, and unforgiving. Your parents literally fear you as the lion that you are. Actually, we thank the Lord for using you mightily. God uses His own in spite of their flaws. *But the moment you mistake being used of God for an endorsement for your ways, you miss it completely.* Many judge more by the few minutes under the spotlight while ignoring the several hours away from it. *It seems we celebrate charisma above character; gift above fruits. Both must be present and intact. That's real growth. Otherwise, you're just an actor!* Many times, 'Christian marriages' fall apart because attitudes and behaviours that needed to be changed were being managed till the parties reached their limits. We aren't told to manage the works of the flesh; we are to PUT THEM OFF! *Telling people to accept you the way you are instead of growing up is nothing but identity crisis. You are a new man in Christ.* Go dust your bible and get busy with renewing your mind! *DAILY DEW 6/MARCH/2023* *The Tragedy of Knowledge Without Zeal* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."* (Matthew 10:28 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Charlie Peace was a criminal. Laws of God or man curbed him not. Finally the law caught up with him, and he was condemned to death. On the fatal morning in Armley Jail, Leeds, England, he was taken on the death-walk. Before him went the prison chaplain, routinely and sleepily reading some Bible verses. The criminal touched the preacher and asked what he was reading. ‘‘The Consolations of Religion,’’ was the reply. Charlie Peace was shocked at the way he professionally read about hell. Could a man be so unmoved under the very shadow of the scaffold as to lead a fellow-human there and yet, dry-eyed, read of a pit that has no bottom into which this fellow must fall? Could this preacher believe the words that there is an eternal fire that never consumes its victims, and yet slide over the phrase without a tremor? Is a man human at all who can say with no tears, ‘‘You will be eternally dying and yet never know the relief that death brings’’? All this was too much for Charlie Peace. So he preached. Listen to his on-the-eve-of-hell sermon. ‘‘Sir,’’ addressing the preacher, ‘‘if I believed what you and the church of God say that you believe, even if England were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would walk over it, if need be, on hands and knees and think it worthwhile living, just to save one soul from an eternal hell like that!’’ My reader, because the Church has lost Holy Ghost fire, men go to hell-fire! We need a vision of a holy God. God is essentially holy. The cherubim and seraphim were not crying, ‘‘Omnipotent! Omnipotent is the Lord!’’ nor ‘‘Omnipresent! and Omniscient! is the Lord,’’ but ‘‘Holy! Holy Holy!’’ This vast Hebrew concept needs to penetrate our souls again. *DAILY DEW 5/MARCH/2023* *RECEIVING THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR PASTOR* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but *received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus."* (Galatians 4:14) _Bible Insight:_ Your Pastor is one of the important gifts God gave you. If you didn't need one He won't bother giving you one.There is a way to receive the gift of a Pastor that the Lord gave us.  Paul brought the Gospel to the Galatians. The Gospel benefitted them so much. The man God used to bring the Gospel to them is reporting how they received him.  He said they received him as an angel (messenger) of God but more than that as though he was Jesus Himself. They didn't take Paul for Jesus Christ. They only received him as a direct messenger of  Christ.  There were cogent reasons for them to reject Paul but they never considered it. They focused on what God put in him for them, not the negatives about him.  You may likely have some reasons not to receive the message, instructions or teachings your Pastor brings to you but you have to fight it. *Satan will continually try to pull you out from the place God placed you to learn and grow. Don't fall for his traps.* Even Jesus Christ, people had reasons not to receive him. So it's not new when people pile up reasons not to receive their Pastor.  The Galatians are a great example of how to receive your Pastor. Their eyes were on the message he brought them, not his physical or financial looks. They were even willing at some point to pluck out their eyes to give to their Pastor, Paul. This is huge. They were willing to go the extra mile to honour him who God sent to them.  It's clear to see the results they enjoyed for receiving their Pastor appropriately. They were converted, they received the Holy Spirit, they saw miracles (Gal 3:1-5). Rightly receiving your Pastor is to your advantage.  Jesus was determined to bless his hometown but he couldn't because they wouldn't receive his message. He was willing to be a blessing to them but he couldn't.  Some people may criticize receiving a Pastor like the Galatians and others did but that's the order and protocol the Lord has established in His Church. It is also the onus of the Pastor to present himself honorable so as to be honored accordingly.  _MEDITATION:_ *"Rightly receiving your Pastor must be continual for you to keep enjoying what you benefited from the man. *DAILY DEW 4/MARCH/2023* *WHEN GOD'S "YES" APPEARS LIKE A "NO"* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *"When the men of Benjamin came out to attack, they were drawn away from the town. And as they had done before, they began to kill the Israelites. About thirty Israelites died in the open fields and along the roads, one leading to Bethel and the other leading back to Gibeah. Then the warriors of Benjamin shouted, "We're defeating them as we did before!" But the Israelites had planned in advance to run away so that the men of Benjamin would chase them along the roads and be drawn away from the town."* (Judges 20:31-32 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ Again, the enemy thought it was business as usual. They thought they were winning like before. Alas, they didn't know that THIS TIME, the case is different. Note that at first, it even appeared as though they were defeating and killing the Israelites, as before. By the time they would realize that this 3rd day, is NOT in their favour, was already too late. At least 25,100 skilled Benjaminte soldiers died. As if that was not enough, all the civilians were slayed, including animals. 😪 Still, as if that was not enough, they burned down the cities and villages of the Benjamites. When God gives you Victory, it is a total one. It may come slowly, but surely that sweet victory will come. Hold your ground and keep up the good fight of faith! Life may happen. Situations may threaten your faith. You would even doubt if God is with you. You may even doubt if you heard God. But in the misdt of the tiring and challenging situation, hold on to your faith, and keep showing up. Keep hope alive. Keep prayer alive. Keep seeking the face of God. Remember, one thing we kept reading was-- (1) they went back to Bethel to seek the face of God. Verses 18, 23, & 26; (2) They took up their positions! (Verses 22, 30, 33) Don't lose your faith in the place of prayer and don't lose your faith in the place of labour/efforts (their position) Always remember, the Lord NEVER SPEAKS in vain. So don't be weary and don't stop holding your position in prayer and labours.
