*DAILY DEW 7/JANUARY/2023* *The Last Days in The New Year* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *The Spirit says clearly that some people will abandon the faith in later times; they will obey lying spirits and follow the teachings of demons. Such teachings are spread by deceitful liars, whose consciences are dead, as if burnt with a hot iron.* (1 Timothy 4:1-2 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ Before we move to other signs of the last days, as enumerated in 1 Timothy 4, let's look at two quick examples of those who abandoned the faith expressly, and those who did indirectly while still claiming to be Christians. Several years back, I read a book I consider very instructive and powerful, titled "I Kissed Dating Goodbye", authored by Joshua Harris. It shifted my thinking on dating and the likes as a single young man looking to please God. But some recent years ago, after I had married my wife, I learned of a shocking development. Pastor Joshua Harris said in 2019... *"I have undergone a massive shift in regard to my faith in Jesus. The popular phrase for this is “deconstruction,” the biblical phrase is “falling away.” By all the measurements that I have for defining a Christian, I am not a Christian. Many people tell me that there is a different way to practice faith and I want to remain open to this, but I’m not there now."* That was loud. I felt it so sharply. I had since written about it in my book, _Called to Be Kings and Priests_ . His was a classic and terrible case of turning away from the faith with a shameless open u-turn fashion denial of Jesus! 😥 If a man can shamelessly deny Christ, why should you be ashamed of your faith? Why? On the other hand, there has been other more subtle ways of turning away from the faith going on. This is even more rampant, frequent and takes more deceptive forms, sometimes, the individual is not aware of the falling away from faith. A good example is Ray Boltz. "Ray Boltz acquired three Dove Awards, two gold albums, one gold video, 12 number one singles, and sold more than 4 million units of product. Then, he decided to let the world know he's gay." This man sang "I pledge Allegiance to The Lamb" But then along the line, gave in to doctrines of demons to be frank. What's the point of these teachings? *"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."* (1 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)) In this new year, stand firmly on the Word. *DAILY DEW 6/JANUARY/2023* *The Last Days in The New Year* _Key Bible Text:_ *Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron* (1 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ With every new year celebrated, the manifestation of the last days become more severe. As you grow older, you are getting closer to the last days. One day, there will indeed be a LAST DAY! That day will be either the day you die, or the day rapture takes place. But ultimately, there is going to be a definite last day sooner than later. Therefore, every serious believer of the Gospel and follower of Jesus, must regularly review the signs that mark the last days, even as every new year emerge. We shall review the Bible, primarily the Letters to Timothy, to spot what God said about the last days. This will remind us of pit falls to avoid and be aware of. So many are already under the attack of the spirit of the last days but they are unaware and ill prepared. The first place of preparation is the place of knowledge and conscious examination of one self. Pls note that this abandonment of the faith will take both overt and covert dimensions. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.* (Acts 2:42-44, 47 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ If there's no serious bible study If there's no heartfelt prayers; including intercessions and Supplication for the souls of men... If there's no evangelism If there's no accountability IT IS NOT CHURCH MEETING O! If after every service you aren't stirred up to desire more spiritual growth and to serve Jesus and His cause, NO BE CHURCH MEETING O! Maybe a club with a touch of religiosity; a form of godliness. If we need to rack our heads to think of fun programs to get more members to show up, problem dey o! If you need to add movie and popcorn night, music and drama evening to increase attendance, na amusement park o, no be church meeting! The gospel has its own attraction - signs and wonders - divine attestations. That's the Jesus way. And it must be our way! Beeni! The power of God, even the demonstration of His Spirit is enough effect - too effective! There are churches you attend and you know you are just wasting your time. I mean, even you know they aren't doing anything serious. Some churches are nothing but satan re-branding worldliness. *DAILY DEW 4/JANUARY/2023* *TAKING NATIONS FOR CHRIST* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *Let me tell you what GOD said next. He said, "You're my son, And today is your birthday. What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize?* (Psalms 2:6-8 (The Message)) _Bible Insight:_ Why must we take nations for Christ? The simple answer is that sons or mature believers are asked to do so. Every believer that is consciously growing into sonship must become a nations seeker! The proof that you are growing in your walk with God, is that you become alive to God's expectations for your life. These expectations include primarily that you ASK FOR NATIONS, that you rise to take on nations for Christ! So the need to ask for nations is not a matter of choice but a matter of obedience. We can't take nations until we begin to ask for nations! Asking for nations is the mark that we are becoming alive to the heart beat of God. Revelation 11:15 (KJV) says *"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD ARE BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD, AND OF HIS CHRIST; and he shall reign for ever and ever."* So we strive to capture nations for Christ, as we raise standards of righteousness, excellence, soul winning, prayers for the nations, exemplary lifestyle and leadership etc. And as we do these, we are "casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ". This is why we must take nations for Christ. And there is a reward attached. For *"they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."* (Daniel 12:3 (KJV)) As nations represent men, when we turn men to righteousness, when we strive for the salvation of souls, we are taking nations for Christ. And God will make us shine ad the brightness of the stars for ever and ever! *DAILY DEW 3/JANUARY/2023* *TAKING NATIONS FOR CHRIST* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.* (Psalms 2:6-8 (Amplified Bible)) _Bible Insight:_ How do we take nations for Christ? Remember that nations represent the following: men, influence and affluence, territories, and states and countries. We already examined three vital points of what taking the nations involves. We shall add the following points to what has already been stated: How we take nations for Christ:- 4. Becoming aligned in sonship with God. This simply means becoming more like Christ. A Christlike character is of vital necessity for any who is poised to take nations for Christ. *"I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession."* It is a son that was commanded to ask for nations. To ask for nations is the exclusive preserve for those who have grown and are growing into Sonship or Christlikeness. God will not commit the nations nor inheritance of nations to carnal and ungodly believers. Remember, the idea is taking the nations FOR CHRIST, and not for one's own self ambition or personal aggrandizement. 5. A commitment to seek nations for Christ. By divine settings, nothing in the kingdom is given, unless there is a demand. James 4:2 (KJV) *"yet ye have not, because ye ask not."* Also the Kingdom demands to be sought after. "No seekers, no finders" is the rule of the Kingdom. Hence, if you must take nations for Christ, you must engage God. It is interesting to note, that to take nations for Christ, you will still have to ask God for His Help without which you can do nothing!
