*DAILY DEW 7/JANUARY/2023* *The Last Days in The New Year* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *The Spirit says clearly that some people will abandon the faith in later times; they will obey lying spirits and follow the teachings of demons. Such teachings are spread by deceitful liars, whose consciences are dead, as if burnt with a hot iron.* (1 Timothy 4:1-2 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ Before we move to other signs of the last days, as enumerated in 1 Timothy 4, let's look at two quick examples of those who abandoned the faith expressly, and those who did indirectly while still claiming to be Christians. Several years back, I read a book I consider very instructive and powerful, titled "I Kissed Dating Goodbye", authored by Joshua Harris. It shifted my thinking on dating and the likes as a single young man looking to please God. But some recent years ago, after I had married my wife, I learned of a shocking development. Pastor Joshua Harris said in 2019... *"I have undergone a massive shift in regard to my faith in Jesus. The popular phrase for this is “deconstruction,” the biblical phrase is “falling away.” By all the measurements that I have for defining a Christian, I am not a Christian. Many people tell me that there is a different way to practice faith and I want to remain open to this, but I’m not there now."* That was loud. I felt it so sharply. I had since written about it in my book, _Called to Be Kings and Priests_ . His was a classic and terrible case of turning away from the faith with a shameless open u-turn fashion denial of Jesus! 😥 If a man can shamelessly deny Christ, why should you be ashamed of your faith? Why? On the other hand, there has been other more subtle ways of turning away from the faith going on. This is even more rampant, frequent and takes more deceptive forms, sometimes, the individual is not aware of the falling away from faith. A good example is Ray Boltz. "Ray Boltz acquired three Dove Awards, two gold albums, one gold video, 12 number one singles, and sold more than 4 million units of product. Then, he decided to let the world know he's gay." This man sang "I pledge Allegiance to The Lamb" But then along the line, gave in to doctrines of demons to be frank. What's the point of these teachings? *"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."* (1 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)) In this new year, stand firmly on the Word.
