This will also mean living a life pleasing to God. It means the pursuit of Christ likeness. Thus, we must add this to our faith. Faith without accompanying and corresponding works, is not only dead but critically hypocritical. "As a child of God, your body is no more first about personal tastes. Your body is now the temple of God. It belongs to Him. The most important consideration is God's tastes." *DAILY DEW 21/APRIL/2023* *ADD TO YOUR FAITH!* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.* (2 Peter 1:8 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ *"But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot seeseesar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall"* -- 2 Peter 1:9-10 (KJV) For if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: this means that when you don't do these things, you will fall. Do you want to fall? I am sure you don't. So add to your faith! One of the things to add, by way of further breaking down, what 2 Peter 1:5-11, is a potent prayer life. "If I don't pray, Satan will make mess of me" is simply another way of saying "Watch, and pray lest you fall (yakata) into temptation." (Mark 14:38). Falling into temptation is messy. It's the devil's mess. In Christ, you should overcome. Pray!" "Dear Christian, you lost your appetite and you don't know why? That's not anorexia! It's a call to FAST. You cannot sleep and you think it's insomnia? Wrong! It's a spiritual signal to PRAY. Be sensitive to your spirit-man. *DAILY DEW 19/NOVEMBER/2022* *STRIVING AGAINST DISUNITY & DIVISIONS IN THE BODY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation."* (Revelation 5:9) _Bible Insight:_ Folks want to teach the deep things of Paul and new creation realities and so on. They want to be champions of faith and grace and custodians of the truth, but that truth has not affected them. Many love the teachings of Paul but do not understand the secrets of Paul. Paul was a man who had been a Pharisee. Pharisees were the Hebrew of Hebrews. They took the law of Moses very seriously and upheld it rigorously. They despised non-Jews and would have nothing to do with them. They were infidels. Even Samaritans who were part Jew and part Gentile were outcasts. Yet after Paul had an encounter with Jesus, he began to call Ephesians and Thessalonians, dear brethren. He began to live with them, talk with them, walk with them and share life with them. He wrote Colossians 3:11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. The secrets of the life of Paul which many miss as they read his scriptural writings are what made his teaching so powerful and relevant to date. They are what qualified him to write two-thirds of the epistles. The man embodied new creation realities. He knew what the new man was, what grace was. He really encountered Jesus. From the days of Paul till now, many genuine men of God have fallen short of the glory of God because they do not have this understanding. Somehow, the grace of God has been unable to make all old things pass away and everything become new. They still hold on very strongly and deeply to tribal and racial matters. The Cross and Death of Christ has not reached there, and therefore the Spirit and the Resurrection cannot work there. God cannot use them as He wants to. As He used Paul. Only that which has been touched by the death of Christ may experience the life of Christ, for it is resurrection life. For, it is good when the lion and the lamb, the snake and the chick, the tiger and the rabbit stay together in harmony; but the greater miracle is when the Chinese and the Ghanaian, the Indian and the Brazilian, the Fulani and the Igbo, live and worship together as brothers and sisters. This is real Christianity. _MEDITATION:_ *I pray that the church becomes dead to what Jesus died for so that we may live as He lives. I pray that we be not conformed to this world but become transformed by the renewing of our minds so that we may prove in our generation what is that perfect will of God. *DAILY DEW 18/NOVEMBER/2022* *STRIVING AGAINST DISUNITY & DIVISIONS IN THE BODY* _Key Bible Text:_ *"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."* (Romans 12:4-5 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The degree of strong tribalism seen with Christians, especially among pastors, in the way they think and talk, is astonishing. It may stay hidden on Sundays when everyone is in church mode, but comes out when things get personal with them in life. Pastors who are sound teachers of the word and full of the Spirit who have not allowed the blood of Jesus wash away this illness, are many. Many of us know of the Azusa Street revival of 1906. God used a man called William Seymour. It was a revival of the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and other manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit. For several years, people of all races, black and white, men and women, high and low class gathered in the same building on Azusa Street in San Francisco, to experience the love and power of God. Everything men were doing, women were also doing. There was no discrimination. It was a mighty revival that spread throughout the world Thing is, a few years before when Seymour heard of tongues and desired it. He traveled to a holiness Bible College in Kansas where Charles Parham, a white man, was teaching it. He had to sit outside because he was black. He left without receiving the baptism of the Spirit, but received it later. When the revival broke out, Parham came down to California to visit and when he was allowed to speak, this man of God spoke against whites and blacks sitting together and worshipping God together. He said it was wrong! They had to tell him to go and not come back. He was not the only one who thought like that. Most white preachers who were supposedly filled with the Holy Spirit could not overcome racism. This things were amazing to read. That at the height of spiritual atmospheres, strong carnality could thrive. _MEDITATION:_ *Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
