*DAILY DEW 28/OCTOBER/2023* *TONGUES* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance."* (Deuteronomy 32:8-9 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ So the very existence of different languages was a direct result of the judgement of God against men’s rebellion. The judgement was an act of mercy as it gave way for Gods redemption plan to materialize. So differing languages didn’t allow the tribes understand each other thus limiting their cooperation. All these tribes where 70 in number (reference Gen 11:10-30) In Gen 11 , God gave up these rebellious tribes to idolatry , allowing them go after fallen angels who they worshipped and served. So God gave up these nations which we now call gentiles and chose one man callednAbraham to begin the Gen 1:26 mandate with. It is why after Gen 11 the very next chapter is an introduction to the faith walk of Abraham. (See Gen 12:1-2) Gods plan was to eventually win those gentile, rebellious nations back through Abraham. So God said to Abraham in Gen 12:3b, *"and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."* This promise was fulfilled in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. In Acts 2 God was announcing to the nations that it was time for their salvation. *DAILY DEW 27/OCTOBER/2023* *TONGUES* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."* (Acts 2:4) _Bible Insight:_ So what is tongues? Are there diverse manifestations of tongues? Do tongues have just one kind? The first thing to note is that the word “tongues” simply means a language. It is from the Greek “glossa” which in this context means a dialect. Tongues are languages or a dialect which distinguishes one group of people from another. They are a means of distinguishing tribes. Now this distinction occurred first by judgement at the Tower of Babel. Prior to Babel all mankind spoke one dialect. In Genesis 11:1: And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. But in verse 8: So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. So God scattered the language of the peoples as their speaking of the same language aided their unity in rebellion . Deal With Private Problems Private problems are hurts, negative habits, and hang-ups that no one else knows about that are causing personal grief, hurt, and dissatisfaction in your walk with Christ. Don’t put a bandaid on a splinter; deal with the root of your pain! 3. Replenish Through Relationships Strategically prioritize time with family, friends, and people that replenish you. 4. Keep Yourself Healthy and Physically Fit God is interested in all of us: our soul, spirit, and body. Internet is everywhere, but you buy data on your phone It is only when it is time to go to church that you remember that God is everywhere. That's how it starts. *DAILY DEW 24/OCTOBER/2023* *THE MERCY OF THE LORD* (2) _Key Bible Text:_ *"But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison."* (Genesis 39:21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Mercy is not because of unrighteousness. Mercy is not only because you are not in the will of God. Mercy is not only because you are doing wrong. What is Mercy then? Mercy is a divine favourable disposition of God towards a man, that evokes from God passion to make that man fulfill all that he was made to accomplish in life. We are not looking for Mercy to solve a little problem, not for an immediate situation but for a lifespan. *Mercy is a divine evaluation of a man's strength with a view of making it up for him to meet up divine expectation.* When God calls a man or give a man an assignment, that is his mandate. However, when God wants to help the man with His Mercy, God measures the lifespan, and length of years of the man and give the man the required capacity to succeed. We only receive mercy to fulfill God's will, God's mandate for our life. No man will enter into the mandate of God for his life until he has obtained Mercy. You need to give yourself totally to God.
