The fear of the Lord makes you wise by making you depart from evil. It is in your departure from evil, that the fear of the Lord is proven! The proof of godly reverence is in your godly abstinence from evil. You cannot fear God, and at the same time, embrace or condone evil. The two are mutually exclusive. The bible teaches that we should fear God. Jesus was very explicit and didn't mince words in Matthew 10:28 (KJV): *And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather FEAR HIM which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.* He not only taught the fear God, but he indirectly said, we should fear God because He destroys both body and soul in hell! _MEDITATION:_ *"It is okay to argue that God does not send people to hell. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.."* Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The United States of America, has their motto as "In God We Trust". But even such beautiful mottos don't actually mean much until one through consistent actions show that they trust God. Why should you trust God? Your knowledge is limited. We don't always see beyond our noses. Common sense is limited and even common sense is too common to make one exceptional in life. You can't be the best until you go beyond common sense and common knowledge. Trusting in God, gives you access to do things beyond common sense and common knowledge. Those who trust in God, actually take more actions, exhibit more courage, make more mistakes at times, and at the same time, achieve more results, because God has got them covered. *DAILY DEW 1/APRIL/2024* *NEW LIFE BEFORE NEW RULES* _Key Bible Text:_ *"As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."* (John 17:2-3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Religious rules and regulations are great. For where there are no rules, disorder is very likely. But rules are not the first thing in our relationship with God. The first thing is a new life. God gave us His Son so that whosoever believes in Him will receive this new life: the God-kind of life. This makes us a new specie of human beings. A new race created to be like Him, to think like Him, and to act like Him. Giving Christian rules to a person who doesn't have eternal life is like asking a dead man to obey your rules. What you will get is frustrations and disappointments! The change cannot be real. It will be like forcing a person to comply. That's what happens with dead religion.. So what God did was to give us His life, His nature, His very own DNA, what we call ETERNAL LIFE! In Christ, we become children of God. Now when we let this divine life govern our thoughts, words, and actions, we will not struggle with righteous rules and regulations. They will flow from within. *DAILY DEW 30/MARCH/2024* *Loyalty and Faithfulness* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Never let go of loyalty and faithfulness. Tie them around your neck; write them on your heart. If you do this, both God and people will be pleased with you."* Proverbs 3:3-4 (GNB) _Bible Insight:_ I am fascinated by the fact that KJV renders this verse 3 as: Let not MERCY and TRUTH forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart. Proverbs 3:3 (KJV) So mercy and loyalty are related while truth and faithfulness are related. Mercy does not readily strike as loyalty. However when you are always loyal to someone, you will be "merciful" towards them by always choosing to favour or stand by them, whether or not they deserve or merit it. Truth and faithfulness on the other hand are pretty straightforward. A truthful person will be a faithful person. An untruthful person will be unreliable, therefore unfaithful. Remember, both qualities of mercy/loyalty and faithfulness/truthfulness will attract both men's pleasure and above all God's pleasure. _MEDITATION:_ *"When being loyal to man conflicts with being loyal to God, please choose God over man. My teaching will give you a long and prosperous life."* Proverbs 3:1-2 (GNB) _Bible Insight:_ Take it or leave it: God's word brings true prosperity and longevity. You don't become truly prosperous in God's estimation until you live by the teachings of scripture. When you always remember God's teachings, and live by His provisions, you may not be as wealthy as the unsaved or lost, but your wealth will be truly impactful on earth and definitely rewarded in heaven! Long and prosperous living is God's will for you too but dont run faster than God.
