*DAILY DEW 22/DECEMBER/2022* *REDISCOVERING THE HABIT OF DAILY PERSONAL QUIET TIME* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed."* (Mark 1:35 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Prayerlessness and not reading your Bible daily (The Twin Discipline For Spiritual Progress) should be treated with the same importance and urgency. Jesus said people err (get it wrong) because; 1. They DONT KNOW the scriptures. 2. They DONT KNOW the power of God. (AMPC) Matthew 22:29: "²⁹ But Jesus replied to them, You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures nor God’s power." You need to become thoroughly acquainted with the will of God, which is the word of God as captured in scriptures, and the Holy Spirit who is the power of God. Knowing the scriptures will help you pray better, and praying better will help you work God's power, and understand scriptures better. Many people excuse their neglect with being too busy as in work and family demands, and traffic stress for those that live in congested urban places like Lagos. *Spiritual disciplines are not for lazy and idle people.* Looking back, I actually read much more and prayed much more when I had a 16 hours a day job. The lack of time made me consecrate to pray without fail, deleted entertainment and things not so important. I never prayed less than two hours and read for a minimum of one hour. *The key for busy believers maintaining and developing their prayer lives and reading habit is to redeem the time!* Do not allow anything bring about neglect of your daily spiritual disciplines, or else you become used to not praying and reading at all, dig in and set apart time away from your work time to pray and read, as in read, not that reading of one, two, three or four chapters daily, and thinking God understands, the issue is the ignorance and lack that prayerlessness generates, not God understanding! *DAILY DEW 18/DECEMBER/2022* *THE CURRENT LUKEWARMNESS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!."* (Revelation 3:15-16 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ The current lukewarmness in many assemblies will not survive the scrutiny of Gen-Z. Real fire, no fluke, is the only thing that will bring these ones to their knees. Spirituality that cannot be gainsaid, mocked, or scorned - that which is fascinating, confounds and dumbfounds scepticism with overwhelming evidences both in word and deed. And by God, we shall serve this and more to this generation and the next. Amen! Whenever I see a video of a church's choir trending because of the 'marlian vibes' and 'leg works', I'm sure to read comments like 'I need to attend this church', 'na this kain church I wan dey attend now', etc. The approach now is to create a Jesus version of the entertainment in the world. Now, that's where we get it wrong - there is no Jesus version. He calls us to something totally different, new, and out of this world. This is why it takes the conviction of the Spirit to convert the hearts of men; not a religious adaptation of worldliness. Only truth sets free! The people we need to keep appealing to in our churches with 'worldly vibes' haven't really been set free and transformed. If you're set free, your taste will change. *DAILY DEW 24/OCTOBER/2022* *The Chronic Knocker* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."* (Ephesians 4:29 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ NOTHING hurts a firm more than to have in its employ men holding important positions who are chronic knockers, who are always finding fault with the business, with the management, with the material they use. Men of this type should be eliminated. One man of that kind in a church will wreck it. One man of that type in a crew of men in the lumber camp will cause the entire organization to disintegrate. Chronic knockers will spoil an organization and wreck its prospects. Men who talk too much and talk unwisely are a detriment to any organization. Never knock your firm. Never knock the goods you are selling, because you are selling yourself in every deal. The man who knocks the firm for which he works, knocks himself because he is there. If he is not satisfied with it, he should get out and go somewhere else. We have no right to stir up strife and bitterness while we are drawing a salary from a firm. We have come to an unhappy place. We have been taught politically to hate the people who have been successful in life, that if a man has gained a position of affluence, he must be bad. That is wrong. Men like Henry Ford have climbed to the place they occupy by sheer efficiency and downright honesty. Class hatred is an unfortunate thing. It does not belong in a democracy. It does not belong anywhere. Why should I hate the man who is smarter than I am, and who has achieved more than I have? I should honor him and thank God that there are men of that kind. Class hatred robs a nation of its efficiency; it robs men of the pleasure and joy of fellowshipping and working with each other. There should be a notice put up in every factory and store and shop saying, "No knockers are needed. We need boosters. We need helpers. *DAILY DEW 21/OCTOBER/2022* *Random Thoughts & Truths* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."* _Bible Insight:_ The material prosperity of the righteous man who's passionate about the gospel upsets satan because it will fund the cause of Christ on the earth. While not all believers will be materially wealthy, there will be those privileged to have these world's riches, not because they have some special faith or pray more than others. Some aren't even rich at the moment but will come into opportunities in the nearest future that will enable them sponsor God's mission on the earth. Such must discern wealth rightly, else they'll live like the rich in the world. For us, it is not first about eating and drinking and merrying and buying up the earth; it's about funding gospel missions. Other things are secondary! There are preachers who speak against long sermons because they don't really have much to say. After some one or two verses, stories, iriri aiye, testimonies and some prophetic prayers for the next level, they have to quickly leave the stage. It's the reason you listen to such men for years and the only thing you can remember is 'God will do your own too', or 'Your story is about to change'. And indeed, your story must change: Look for a bible studying and ministry equipping church! Your life must change! Let me say this. Truth is, it is not every good deed that will be rewarded in this life. In fact, people can repay you evil for good. Not every good person will be applauded or recognised. Some will be scorned and mocked for their righteous ways. Ultimately, we are to do good because it's just right to do so! Those who do good so they can be rewarded by men eventually become weary of doing good when people don't value them. The main reward for doing good in this life is the positive impact and effect it has on others and the glory it brings to God. *DAILY DEW 20/OCTOBER/2022* *Access To The Presence Of God* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them."* (Job 1:6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ It's not just you that has access to the presence of God. The devil comes there too. Shocked? But both of you have different agendas, For you, you come to obtain grace and mercy for your time of need For the devil, he comes to the throne room to accuse you. And both of you will come with the same template - The Word of God. You see God - the Judge - does nothing outside the Word. The Word is the referral point and basis for your argument and counter argument. The Word will justify you, or condemn you. So the devil knows the Word And you must know the Word too. Don't just know it, believe, declare it and do it. Thats how you win the battle. The devil will twist the Word to suit his accusation of you. And will provoke you. He will belittle you. He will gnaw at your ignorance. He will hit at your unbelief. He will insist that you don't deserve the blessing, the miracle. So what's your point of argument? Leave the entitlement mentality. It doesn't work that way in the court of heaven. You must come with Words. Words that you have believed. Words that show you understand what Christ has perfected for you. You will prove it in your lifestyle. And actions. You will bring evidence that God has done it before. And you will argue it. You will insist on it. You will tell your advocate Jesus to go ballistic on the devil and leave no grounds uncovered. But it starts with the Word. The word in your heart. The word in your head. The word in your acts.
