*Be ENCOURAGED*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing."* (2 Thessalonians 3:13 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
You are too focused on what is not working well as you planned. Yes, I know this is the first month of the second quarter of the year. But before you put yourself down as a no achiever or a down right failure, remember that only those alive can be said to be doing well or otherwise.
Thank God that you are still alive. Thank God that you are up on your feet and not down on the sick bed. Even if you are on the sick bed, take courage and thank God because His plans for you are of good and not of evil.
Truth is, you are not a failure. You may not be where you planned to be yet, but before you continue comparing yourself with your mates that you believe are doing better than you, stop and be encouraged because you are not where you used to be.
Your future is bright. Keep doing the good you know to do. Keep working. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep making progress. If you have fallen, rise up. Be encouraged. If you have been betrayed or misinterpreted or misunderstood for your good intentions, be encouraged. Jesus was once in your shoes.
Keep growing. No matter how challenging your circumstances are, don't give up. Before you conclude, continue the good work for another day, and then another day, and another. You will get there.
I will see you at the top. If I don't see you, you will see me. 😊
_MEDITATION:_
*"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."* -- 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)

*THE WORD STILL WORKS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."* (2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Some folks are so used to seeing pretenders in the church and so they don't take anyone who claims to be devoted seriously. But we are not all pretenders. God's word has worked and changed some of us! Our godliness is not a form; it is for real! Halleluyah!
Ti word yen ba ti wo inu e daada, awon ise ti ara a wa bi gba. Interpretation: if the word don enter body well well, all those works of the flesh go give way. The flesh cannot rule any heart filled with the word. Stay feeding, stay feeding! Chop the word well make e enter everywhere!
The word of God has a washing and cleansing effect. We were saved by the washing of water by the word. Our minds are being washed and cleansed by the same word. Sit long under the influence of the word, and your mind will be clean. Oh, thank God for the power of His living Word!
_MEDITATION:_
*"Jesus is the Word of God - that's a clear fact in the bible (John 1:1; 1:14; Revelation 19:13). If our sermons aren't about Him, we aren't preaching the word of God. Perhaps some human wisdom and philosophy here and there. Men should listen to us and be full of Christ consciousness."*

*Faith Series: Barak, steps out in Faith*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"One day she sent for Barak son of Abinoam from the city of Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, *The LORD, the God of Israel, has given you this command: 'Take ten thousand men from the tribes of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them to Mount Tabor. I will bring Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, to fight you at the Kishon River. He will have his chariots and soldiers, but I will give you victory over him.' "* (Judges 4:6-7 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
Few stories strengthen my faith more than those that require their hero to step out in faith despite the possible consequences, risking ridicule and likely receiving little or no praise. These stories highlight God’s strength and mind as being far higher and boundless than that of human beings. I find the story of Barak in the book of Judges to be an example of such an inspiring hero.
Barak, who is mentioned in the Faith Chapter, displayed faith in God when Deborah prophesied of Sisera’s defeat and eventual death. It took great courage and faith in God for Barak to not only believe Deborah’s prophecy, but also lead his army into battle knowing another would be credited with Sisera’s death (Judges 4:6-9).
Barak was faced with difficult decisions.
1.Believing
The first part of Barak’s decision required him to trust Deborah and believe God’s will revealed through her. Deborah was a prophetess judging Israel, and the people came to her for judgment (verses 4-5). While I’m sure Deborah was a valued and trusted authority in Israel, it would be naïve to think that Israel in the time of the judges regularly entrusted decision making and military strategy to a woman.
Yet, as is evident in Judges 4:5-6, the children of Israel came to Deborah, and when she summoned Barak, he, too, came to her and listened. He asked that she come with him into battle, and he trusted the message she delivered to him from God.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Barak had faith God would instruct him through Deborah and fulfill what she prophesied—that God would deliver Sisera and his army to Israel."*

*MARCHING TOWARDS MATURITY* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The people in Berea were much nicer than those in Thessalonica, and they gladly accepted the message. Day after day they studied the Scriptures to see if these things were true."* (Acts 17:11 (CEV))
_Bible Insight:_
Question: I desire to preach the gospel and win souls for Christ but most times I don't know what to say. How do I go about it?
Answer: You need bible study! Not knowing what to say is a sign that you just might not understand the gospel yourself. Passion to preach must lead to passion to study and search the scriptures for your own growth and stability.
Many times, people reach out for help concerning spiritual growth. You send them a full bible course that has changed the lives of many, but they don't even have the discipline to go through it, only for them to still be looking for answers years after. Some of the people whose lives have been transformed radically are people who listen over and again to the same messages lying idle on other people's devices. Laziness will cost you big. Deal with it!
The wisdom of God in the gospel is that He doesn't fix addictions by talking about the addictions. He doesn't fix marriage issues, where character is concerned, by talking about them. He doesn't fix bad temper by talking about it. He fixes all by revealing Christ to the heart of a man. When Christ fills the consciousness of a man, every other thing bows out. We are not propagators of human psychology, we preach Christ the power of God forever! You don't get it? If you learn of Christ, it makes you walk like Him, and if you walk like Him, the flesh cannot control you!
_MEDITATION:_
*"The gifts of the Spirit don't change or develop godly habits and the fruit of the Spirit doesn't heal the sick or provide supernatural guidance. Hence, we have to walk in the fruit, the gifts, and the leading of the Spirit to have an all round new life experience! Let's enjoy the fullness of God's Spirit - Character, Power, and Wisdom!!"*

*Communication in Marriage*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, TAKE NOTE OF THIS: EVERYONE SHOULD BE QUICK TO LISTEN, SLOW TO SPEAK AND SLOW TO BECOME ANGRY"* (JAMES 1:19 (NIV))
_Bible Insight:_
Angie and I talk to a lot of couples about communication in marriage, and one of the most common problems we encounter is the communication conundrum. Spouses really struggle to know how to articulate themselves as well as how to understand each other.
Nearly two thousand years ago, James, the half-brother of Jesus and apostolic leader of the early Jerusalem church, gave us the ultimate plan for better communication (including communication in marriage) and understanding in any context, and it’s made up of three simple phrases.
Take a moment to imagine how your closest relationships would change for the better if you developed these three habits:
1. Listen attentively before thinking of your response.
2. Speak only after fully thinking your words through.
3. Slow down the process of frustration.
Ultimately, what James is challenging us to do is to handle our emotions in a holy, healthy way. You don’t always control your emotions, but you always have a choice in how to respond to your emotions and what actions you choose to take based on your feelings.
_MEDITATION:_
*"You will always communicate more clearly and effectively when you tune in, take it slow, and take it down a notch."*
