*DAILY DEW 31/MAY/2022* *DISCIPLESHIP, GATHERINGS & GROWTH* _Key Bible Text:_ *“Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord's coming is getting closer."* (Hebrews 10:25 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ 'We don't need long sermons. Just 10 minutes can be very edifying' Me: Ah, satan we've seen you. Stop disguising. 10 minutes is edifying. 2 hours is more edifying. It's only in the body of Christ soldiers are told to train on their own. Soldiers train together as an army! Get into the gathering of the saints. That's where the training is! Amen After 3 years of ministry, Paul said to the Pastors at Ephesus, 'I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God' (Acts 20:27). They had been taught all they needed to know as touching the Christian faith. It was because they met daily (Acts 20:31). You can spend 20 years in church today and not even learn the essential and core doctrines in the faith because we have to keep relaying foundations. You come to church once a week and the world washes off the influence before the next week. Either by stronger cell units, family structures, or community level gatherings, we (must) gather more as we see the day approaching...! A major part of discipleship is PHYSICAL OVERSIGHT. We don't just preach and teach mindlessly. There are people who get distracted, some sleep off, some start chatting. I'm always on the look out for people while teaching. This oversight also plays out during prayer. There are those who just stand and look around while others show no zeal at all. Such people are helped in the gatherings. This is one of the disadvantages of online streaming. Many tune in without actively following and we can't even know. Imagine if Jesus had streamed the last prayer meeting in the garden, He wouldn't have known that they were sleeping through the session. Take away physical oversight, discipleship is weakened and on its way out. _MEDITATION:_ *“Research has shown that it takes at least 66 days (two months and six days) to build a habit that automatically shows up in our daily living. For most believers, their bible study and prayer habits are epileptic because they've never gone just one month without breaks. In the early church, this was easily achieved because they gathered daily. *DAILY DEW 24/MAY/2022* *THE NECESSITY OF HUNGER* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *“I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God."* (Psalms 84:2 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ How hungry you are for God reveals itself in how hungry you are for fellowship with Him in word study and prayers. You are not hungry if you are not fond of consciously seeking times of intimacy with the Word and in prayers! This conscious savouring of the Word and prayer makes your Spirit line up with God's will (God's word), and your body quickened to obey the Spirit. Take Jesus at the garden of Gethsemane for instance. By spending time in prayers, Jesus could get His will to line up with God's will, and in that process His body became empowered to go all the way to the cross! *_And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him._* (Luke 22:41-43 (KJV)) Hungry Christians seek for every opportunity to enter deeper sessions of prayers and deeper reflections of the word. Spending times in corporate prayers in church, can jump start you to go back home, and repeat the process all by yourself. Hungry believers, like bereans, make extra time to study the Word. (Acts 17:10,11) _MEDITATION:_ *“Stop being a non-hungry Christian. Take the word of God seriously. Make effort to create extra time for prayers and study. Read books that will stir you up to seek God the more. *DAILY DEW 17/MAY/2022* *RELATIONSHIPS & CHOOSING A LIFE PARTNER* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."* (Hebrews 13: 4 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Let's continue from our yesterday's reflections. 4. Saying "I love you" is not enough. If you have prayed and/or convinced that a sister or brother is the one, proper communication is key! Haven said that, saying "I love you" may not only deficient but can be misleading too. Follow up with appropriate and of course, godly actions. Needless to re echo the cliche that "Love is not sex" (and sex is not love) But on the contrary God is love! True love emulates and promotes godliness. 5. Go beyond engaging a sister. Take steps to seek counselling, meet parents, and read relevant relationship and marriage books. Consistently take positive and reassuring steps. Don't wait for the best time, instead have a faith based plan and consistently strive to follow through! 6. Don't double date. Women have perceiving spirit. Dont keep mixing with other ladies closely and carelessly. This stage of courtship or serious relationship is not the time to be every lady's man. Don't do things that would or may strike jealousy in the heart of your partner, either as the man or woman! 7. Don't be manipulative. Don't be fond of always using, "Let's see how it goes!" to issues that calls for decisive decisions. If you are not interested, say so and mean so. If you are, say so and mean so. When you are wrong, don't find it too hard to apologize. It is better to do so, than blaming the other party is the wrong one. Don't make discordant sounds and expect your partner to understand what music you are playing! _MEDITATION:_ *"Seek more of purpose in the place of purpose, your spouse will locate you. Settle your marriage on your knees. *DAILY DEW 10/MAY/2022* *THE MOUNTAIN OF FAMILY* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table."* (Psalms 128:1-3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ If you have heard about the 7 mountains of influence, you should also know that the family is the mother of the 7 mountains. If you have not, you can ask me later or google it 😉 The design of God is that influence and power will flow from the family system because the family is the mini church. Therefore we need to find out more about the nature of the family that can influence the world. Remember that you can't choose your family. God placed us in families. *It is for us to discover the blessing peculiar to each families* Marriages places us in peculiar families. Family begins by birth, and birth begins by marriage. Every family is blessed. *Look at the family you come from and study what is available and ensure you change what is not good enough and improve upon what is good.* A blessed family is a fulfilled, happy, strong family, whether rich or poor. What makes a family strong and able to influence the society? *1. A great sense of spiritual awareness and alignment:* Now, brace up for this:- *That Jesus is in a family does not make it a happy home* Jesus can be in your house yet wine will finish, you will suffer threats to divorce, and even experience broken homes. Infact, that you wedded in church does not make it a christian family. What then? What makes you a Christian family is obedience to the instructions of the master. Jesus being in your family is not the answer but obeying Jesus as the ultimate head of the family is the answer! A great sense of spiritual awareness means, having a Solid family altar, a spiritual disposition for hosting God. A time to pray. An attitude to God. Husband and wife consistently talking and sharing the word together. Then individually, husbands, wives and children having their personal time with God. A spiritually healthy atmosphere is a place of renewing commitment to God and confronting issues together. _MEDITATION:_ *"Men and families of altars are men of power. It is this altar that can make you impact your society. *DAILY DEW 3/MAY/2022* *NEW BREED BIRTH NEW BREED* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."* (Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ *"Christ is all, and in all"* Hence, the New Breed must be all about Him-- to know Him and to Make Him Known! We conclude with the verses that come after 2 Corinthians 5:17. *"But all things are of God, who has made us at peace with himself through Christ, and has given to us the work of making peace;"* (2 Corinthians 5:18) See that! See that! "All things" includes you and I. We are restored to new fellowship and a new relationship in Christ! But that isn't all there is. It says *"and has given to us the work of making peace"* The work of making peace is to MAKE JESUS KNOWN, even as we have come to know Him! *"That is, that God was in Christ making peace between the world and himself, not putting their sins to their account, and having given to us the preaching of this news of peace."* (2 Corinthians 5:19) God in Christ, Christ in Us! This chain of responsibilities is key! We are linked to Christ, by this responsibility. God was in Christ making peace, thus, saving us, making us New Breed! And Christ is also in Us, or a part of us, for the same purpose-- for us to also make peace with others even as God in Christ made peace with us! _MEDITATION:_ *"So we are the representatives of Christ, as if God was making a request to you through us: we make our request to you, in the name of Christ, be at peace with God.
