But now I will accuse you."* (Psalms 50:16-21(CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ Christian devotion must progress from questions like... "Have I read my Bible today?" to questions like... "Do I have a Biblical worldview concerning the current issue"? "Does my current opinion, action and approach affirm the authority of the Bible"? "Are my choices, preferences, and reactions sourced from the scriptures "? Bible reading that doesn't translate to Bible living will only make us hardened against God and immune to the grieving of the Spirit. And we must do the same about prayers. Our conscience should not be satisfied with "At least I've prayed today" Our words and speech must affirm that our conversation with a Holy God is potent enough to enforce clean speech. Our lives must be lived constantly in the presence of the God we pray to. Our attitude, behavior, and mannerisms must affirm that we often speak to God and such fellowship consistently produces Godliness. *DAILY DEW 6/MAY/2023* *CONNECTING WITH GOD* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."* (Colossians 3:16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The reason you struggle to connect in church on Sunday morning is that your Monday-Saturday is preoccupied with carnal hearings and ungodly conversations and engagements. You can't feel at home in an atmosphere where God is the subject and the Bible is the reference when your previous days and moments were spent engrossed with thoughts, talks, and actions that are clearly ungodly and unbiblical. And I don't mean terrible things when I speak of ungodliness, I just mean any activity that steals the thought of God from your soul including subtle fun and entertainment. That being said, many churches are now becoming very comfortable for those who have little or no interest in God. *DAILY DEW 17/NOVEMBER/2022* *STRIVING AGAINST SIN* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Think of what he went through; how he put up with so much hatred from sinners! So do not let yourselves become discouraged and give up. For in your struggle against sin you have not yet had to resist to the point of being killed."* (Hebrews 12:3-4 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ The life of the believer is not complete until He sees sin as an enemy of His soul. Sin is not alien to a believer/the new man but sin becomes a malfunctioning or virus infiltration to the new creation man! On the other hand, the unrepented sinner has sin as a default mode or status of operation. Sin hurts the sinner, it also hurts the saint. Sin earned Angels punishment, it changed man's World from the Bliss of Eden to the Chaos of the present Cosmos. There's nothing sin cannot destroy! Sin thrives because of it's deception. It presented itself as a tree that was Good to Eve, Meanwhile it was the Only source of her Death. Sin Has nothing Good to Offer. It is True that Sin has been paid for through Jesus' works but Repentance from Sin is still a strong New Testament Emphasis. If you're planning to sin on the basis that Jesus already paid for sin, you've been Deceived by Doctrines of Demons. No Christian will succeed at Convincing God that He continued in any sin because it was his weakness and some principalities held him down. God knows that what He designed as the New Man in Christ is stronger than sin. *DAILY DEW 18/JULY/2022* *MAKING MANY MIGHTY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."* (2 Corinthians 10:5-6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Preachers can say all they want in their two hour sermons on Sunday, as long as Christians watch more secular movies with subtle ungodly lessons, the Church member will be more carnal than spiritual. The Pastor can yell all he likes about purity and righteousness but as long as there's a consistent consumption of lewd music and sexy comic skits on the part of church members, they'll remain Slaves of sin instead of servants of Righteousness. The atmosphere in church may be so supernatural and heavenly but as long as what happens after the closing prayer is the return to opening up your minds to influencers and celebrities whose lavish lifestyle and worldly behaviours has become what you adore and admire, you'll remain a disciple of carnality even if you profess Faith in Jesus.
