You refused correction and rejected my commands. You made friends with every crook you met, and you liked people who break their wedding vows. You talked only about violence and told nothing but lies; you sat around gossiping, ruining the reputation of your own relatives." When you did all of this, I didn't say a word, and you thought, "God is just like us!" But now I will accuse you."* (Psalms 50:16-21(CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ Christian devotion must progress from questions like... "Have I read my Bible today?" to questions like... "Do I have a Biblical worldview concerning the current issue"? "Does my current opinion, action and approach affirm the authority of the Bible"? "Are my choices, preferences, and reactions sourced from the scriptures "? Bible reading that doesn't translate to Bible living will only make us hardened against God and immune to the grieving of the Spirit. And we must do the same about prayers. Our conscience should not be satisfied with "At least I've prayed today" Our words and speech must affirm that our conversation with a Holy God is potent enough to enforce clean speech. Our lives must be lived constantly in the presence of the God we pray to. Our attitude, behavior, and mannerisms must affirm that we often speak to God and such fellowship consistently produces Godliness.
