_Bible Insight:_
When you choose to honor (or fear) God, you’re choosing to let His Word flourish in every aspect of your life. Surround yourself with wise and seasoned mentors who are led by God and who are skilled in the industry that you’re called to dominate. Whether you’re in Ministry, Business, Government, Education, Media, Creative Arts or raising a family choose to surround yourself with God-led wise counsel and deliberately draw from their wisdom.

Proverbs‬ ‭6:20‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ states, “My son, keep your father's [God-given] commandment and forsake not the law of [God] your mother [taught you]”. Choose to let God’s Word guide your course. Let God build your foundation. Choose not to forsake or abandon the wise counsel of your mentors. Proverbs‬ ‭6:21‬ ‭KJV commands us to, “Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.” In every season of life choose to bind, hide and treasure God’s Word in every season and in every aspect of your life.

Choose to revere His Word and let His principles, promises and precepts guide your pathway. Choose to fear and honor God. Honor is a decision. You choose who you will honor. Choose to hide and treasure God’s Word in the fabric of your Heart. Reject ungodly and foolish counsel and embrace God’s Word.

_Bible Insight:_

What's the main point of studying Melchizedek? The main point is seen in out text today as well as in Hebrews 7:25 (Meditation). Jesus lives on to intercede for us and to save us completely! Hallelujah!

What does this really mean? The salvation we received is actually in phases. The first phase is when you received Jesus into your life. (John 1:12) The second phase is everyday as you decide to continue in Christ.(James 1:21, Rom 11:22, 1 Tim 4:16) The last phase is finally when we shall be received up in glory (doing away with flesh) and given a crown of life. (1 Cor 15:52, 53, ROM 8:20-25)

Understanding the dynamics of our salvation, will help us realize the utmost need for our High Priest such as Jesus. He lives forever to intercede for us. He lives to ensure that we will not stop at the first phase of our salvation, nor at the second.bHe lives to carry us through and help us maintain our faith till the very end. Thank God we are not following a dead hero. Jesus is our living hero. Indeed, we are truly SAVED by the LIFE of Christ.

*Romans 5:10 (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be SAVED BY HIS LIFE.* #Selah

Jesus, risen up from the dead, sits at the right hand of the Father. He contradicts the accuser of the brethren, who is ever pointing accusing fingers at us. Jesus sits in the court of heaven as our living, loving and capable advocate. Bringing his strong reasons of his death and blood as evidence that sin has no hold on us.

Indeed, because he lives we can take solace in His word in Luke 12:32 (KJV) *Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.*

Celebrate grace!

*GOD WANTS YOU TO BE HOLY*

This is what the angels see & declare that God is and forever Holy.

According to Gen.1.27, *So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.*

Since God is Holy and it is written clearly in the book of Genesis that we are the image of God and His likeness, we are meant and created to be holy and live holy even as our Father in heaven is holy

*1Pet.1.15-16 says, "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."*

This is what God want from us: to be Holy as He is holy, but something makes us otherwise-- SIN (Simple Instruction Neglected). It has separated us from God and makes us look as if we cannot be holy even as God is Holy and want us to be holy.

There is a good news! Do you want to hear this good news?
You can be *HOLY* even as God is holy.

How can this be? Jesus is the way out of sin to Holiness. He came to die for your sins. He took all your sins away & nailed it on the cross of Calvary where He was hung naked to bleed and die for you and I.

All you need to do is to acknowledge Him and confess your sin to Him and He will give you His righteousness. He will sanctify you.

Remember, it is only a sanctified vessel that can meet the master's use. (2Tim.2.21)

It is the joy of the Lord that everyone repent and live holy as He is holy in every respect. But you have a role to play, it is now left for you to choose a godly lifestyle, have a godly sorrow over that youthful lust, bad habit, & unforgiving heart and let your godly sorrow work out repentance that leads to salvation & love for God and holiness in the eyes of God. (2 Corinthians 7:10).

Trust in the Lord for the rest of your life.

_Bible Insight:_

According to our studies in Hebrew chapter seven, the first difference with the Priesthood of Jesus, was that God backed it with a vow: *The Lord has made a solemn promise and will not take it back: 'You will be a priest forever.' * This made Jesus the guarantee of a better covenant.

We don't need to wonder what made the new testament covenant better! The High Priest unlike in the old, does not ever die. He always lives to make intercession for us. The second difference is that because he does not die, he is never to be replaced or changed, unlike the old covenant. There is no possibility of another high priest emerging. It is always going to be Jesus. Hallelujah!

And so Jesus is able, now and always, to save those who come to God through Him, because He lives forever to plead with God for them.
Jesus, then, is the High Priest that meets our needs. He is holy; He has no fault or sin in him; He has been set apart from sinners and raised above the heavens.

He is not like other high priests; He does not need to offer sacrifices every day for His own sins first and then for the sins of the people. He offered one sacrifice, once and for all, when He offered himself.

*The Law of Moses appoints men who are imperfect to be high priests; but God's promise made with the vow, which came later than the Law, appoints the Son, who has been made perfect forever.* (Hebrews 7:28 (GNB))

*THE POWER OF CHOICE* (II)

*I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:* (Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

_*If tomorrow was the final day, and I stand before God at the front line of His judgment, when I'm questioned, how will I answer?_*

I should be able to say, Lord, I gave them your word undiluted.

Know when to say NO! Saying NO can lead to a glorious destination. No to drugs. No to alcohol. No to sexual immorality. No to Yahoo Yahoo. No to lying. No to exam malpractice. No to abortion. No to baby mama lifestyle. No to baby daddy lifestyle. No to sidechicism.
Even the name -- side chick-- is an insult to your dignity.

No to being a club or runs babe. No to smoking. No to temperamental anger. No to food. Choose between food and God's anointing or power or greater grace.

Guide to making a good decision:

1. The Word: Make Word inspired choices.

2. The Holy Spirit: He is our comforter. Let the Spirit lead you per decision. Don't trust yourself too much. Depend on the Holy Spirit.

3. The rule of thumb method of making decision:

If tomorrow were judgement day, will I go and spend weekend with a man or woman I'm not married to? Or will I go and smoke? Or will I go and drink alcohol? Or will I go and masturbate or watch pornographic contents? Or will I habour unforgiveness or malice? Or will I commit fraud at my place of work or business?

4. Principle of Mentorship:
The rich invest using other people money and learn from other people mistakes. Learn to learn from other people's mistakes. That's the heart of mentoring.

5. Be purpose and wisdom driven in making your choices: Wisdom is not wisdom unless God is at the center.

*MEDITATION*
*Sin says, "It is only this once". Meanwhile, it has no plan of leaving. Say NO, and you won't be trapped.*

The reason we worship God is because He is worthy of it. He is worthy of our worship, every single second of every single day. Everything that has breath was created to worship God.

On any given day, we often direct our worship toward something or someone that did nothing to deserve it. Only God is worthy to receive glory, honor and power, for He is the Creator of the Universe (Revelation 4). We should hold God in such high regard that we adore and cherish Him above all and before all. But in order for us to truly be able to worship God, we must know Him, or we must at least begin the lifelong quest of doing so. God’s Word, the Bible, is full of information about the God we serve. The Old Testament chapters in Psalms are infused with truths about Him, His character, and His ways.

As Christ followers, let’s dedicate our lives to worshiping the only One who is worthy of it.

_Bible Insight:_
Who do you choose to serve? God or the things of this world? Proverbs 1:7 begins with declaring, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” According to Strong’s Concordance, the word ‘fear’, is the Hebrew word, ‘Yirah’ (H3374) which means: “fear (of God), respect, and reverence”. The reverential fear and respect of God is the beginning or the starting point of knowledge. Before you begin anything *seek God.* Before you start a career *seek God*. Before you begin a business or start a new venture — choose to seek God. Choose to revere God’s Word and He will direct your pathway.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” In order to ask for wisdom, understanding, skill and insight you must start with having a reverential fear of God. He is the starting point.

*THE POWER OF CHOICE* (I)

_Key Bible Text:_
*I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:* (Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

*_When you are born, you will look like your parents, but when you are "done" you will resemble your choices._*

Choices have consequences either good or bad. Decisions determine destiny. Why didn't Eve choose the tree of life? Have you asked yourself that question? I think I will attribute her poor decision to the power of marketing/advertising. The devil's excellent marketing deceived Eve. Not everything that is marketed and advertised is worth your time and money. Beware.

I need to check what decisions and choices I'm making daily. Am I by my daily choices pointing others to Christ? If my life doesn't point people to the person of Christ, then my spiritual life needs an audit. If my life points people away from God, then my spiritual life needs check up.

I need to take heed of what I eat. I become what I eat. At this age of mine, I need to cut down on the amount of soda drinks I consume. What about what I "eat" in terms of contents I consume by way of watching or listening? Whatever I do, I must avoid every kind of junk foods and junk contents of all forms & formats.

In Gen 13:8 -- 10, Lot looked and saw the greener pastures of Sodom. Alas, he didn't know that that land may be greener pastures but it's going to be a snare and temptation to his convictions. I must learn that if the direction I am going is not leading to where I want to be, I can and must make a U turn!

*ARE YOU WORKING?*

_Bible Insight:_

Are you working?

A lot of people do not like to be asked this direct question. It sounds to so many like they don't really know what they are doing.

It is so direct that it may make some people to react in a way that is not pleasing depending on the situation. It also creates so many questions to human minds.

It makes some feel guilty and think they are not faithful enough.

A lot of times this question comes from a person to the receiver because the person have not seen a positive result of what is expected of the receiver.

This can make a natural person to be down and not be able to move forward, or continue with what he or she embarked on. But for a visionary person, a goal setter and a Child of the Most High indeed, this direct question should call you for self examination of things you have been occupying your mind with and the way it has been affecting your life positively or negatively. You have to find the way out to do things that won't make the question come up again in a wrong approach. You won't be questioned when the work you do is giving the answer even to those that have not met you face to face.

In our Bible text, Jesus knows the work He is sent to do and He can't wait to finish it before the night, when no man can work comes. Can you also boldly say you know the work you are sent out to do by your maker (God) and be sincere that you are doing it?

Do you really know the work you are doing, have you been sent at all? If you have been sent and you know it, congratulations in advance, because every work has a reward. You are going to give account of all your work and through that you will receive your reward.

*Jeremiah.17.10 But I know! I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve." (NLT)*

If you have not known the work you are called to do, go back to the one who sent you to this world and ask Him (God) to enlighten you and to help you know what you are called to do.

Do you know that a particular work had been assigned for you to do for the kingdom purpose? Have you found it? Are you doing it? Get back to work while it is day before it is night when no man can work!
Think on these things.

*MELCHIZEDEK* (III)

*MELCHIZEDEK* (III)

_Key Bible Text:_

_Bible Insight:_

The order of levitical priests of the order of Aaron worked for a while. However, because it was not perfect, a different kind of priest, patterned after the order of Melchizedek appeared. This change in priesthood also necessitated a change in law. This is because our Lord of whom we speak belongs to a different tribe -- a tribe that have never served as priests.

It is well known that he (Jesus) was born a member of the tribe of Judah; and Moses did not mention this tribe when he spoke of priests. The matter becomes even plainer; a different priest has appeared, who is like Melchizedek. He was made a priest, not by human rules and regulations, but through the power of a life which has no end. For the scripture says, *You will be a priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.*

The old rule, then, is set aside, because it was weak and useless. For the Law of Moses could not make anything perfect. And now a better hope has been provided through which we come near to God.

In addition, there is also God's vow. There was no such vow when the others were made priests. But Jesus became a priest by means of a vow when God said to him, *The Lord has made a solemn promise and will not take it back: 'You will be a priest forever.'* Hallelujah!!

This difference, then, also makes Jesus the guarantee of a better covenant.

*MEDITATION*

*There is another difference: there were many of those other priests, because they died and could not continue their work. But Jesus lives on forever, and his work as priest does not pass on to someone else.* (Heb 7:23,24 (GNB))

*PROOF OF LOVE*

_Bible Insight:_

Have you ever wondered why you love to do things first for yourself?
You care so much for yourself which is good, but have you also asked yourself what does God's love look like?

How can you prove the love that you said you have? God proved His love for the world by giving a costly sacrifice. He gave His all. His only precious gift to the world. And afterwards still waiting for the response of the world to the love He has shown.

Is it not that your own love is that someone should love you before you show them love too? Is it not that you do your own things first not even minding what the other person is passing through? Your own is that you need to have every necessary thing before you can remember anyone that doesn't have any? Is that what you do?

Love is more than passion. It leads to sacrifice that makes you do what pleases your maker (GOD) not yourself.

Love overlooks mistakes and focuses on the uniqueness of others. Have you been seeing this way or what you always see is the ugly part of people that comes around you?

You need to prove your love by first loving the maker of your life and let Him fill your heart with His own love that does not lead to lust.

Remember this. You will want to always be in the presence of the person you love so much all the time. How long do you seek God if truly you love Him?

It is only when you love God that you will not be in hurry in your secret place. Stay till you prove your love through God's love.

*MELCHIZEDEK* (II)

_Key Bible Text:_
*This Melchizedek was king of Salem and a priest of the Most High God. (The first meaning of Melchizedek's name is KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS; and because he was king of Salem, his name also means KING OF PEACE.).* (Hebrews 7:1-2 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_

Melchizedek was both King of Righteousness and King of Peace. There is no record of Melchizedek's father or mother or of any of his ancestors; no record of his birth or of his death. He is like the Son of God; he remains a priest forever. (V.3)

When Abraham was coming back from the battle in which he defeated the four kings, Melchizedek met him and blessed him, and Abraham gave him one tenth of all he had taken. You see, then, how great he was. Abraham, our famous ancestor, gave him one tenth of all he got in the battle. (V. 4)

It is important to recall that it was only Levites that were instructed to receive Tithes. You must recall also that Levites were also descendants of Abraham. However, Melchizedek was not a Levite and he received the tithe from Abraham and blessed him. And there is no doubt that the one who blesses is greater than the one who is blessed.

In the case of the priests the tenth is collected by men who die; but as for Melchizedek the tenth was collected by one who lives, as the scripture says. And, so to speak, when Abraham paid the tenth, Levi (whose descendants collect the tenth) also paid it. For Levi had not yet been born, but was, so to speak, in the body of his ancestor Abraham when Melchizedek met him.

*MEDITATION*

*It was on the basis of the levitical priesthood that the Law was given to the people of Israel. Now, if the work of the levitical priests had been perfect, there would have been no need for a different kind of priest to appear, one who is in the priestly order of Melchizedek, not of Aaron.* (Heb 7:11 (GNB))

_Bible Insight:_
What does God really want from us? Does He want our religious activities like attending church or doing a Bible study? Does He want us to refrain from watching or doing bad things? Doing good things and refraining from doing bad things is not the goal of following Jesus. Loving Him is. That’s what He wants.

He wants you.

God wants our hearts and entire devotion. And then guess what will happen? We will do things like attend church and study the Bible because we want to know Him more. We will consider what we watch and say because we want to be more like Him. We will be kind and generous because we want to do what He’s called us to do. Our spiritual activities should not come first, nor should they be obligatory. They follow our heart’s devotion.

When we say "yes" to Jesus and receive His salvation, we die to self. But, the next day we will have to die again. And the next day and the next. *The battle with our selfish desires occurs from the moment we wake up until the moment we drift off to sleep.* Dying to self is an everyday event. The more we follow Christ, the more we should be dying to self. Why? Because we have sought after God and learned this: His higher, better ways supersede our mediocre, average ways.

As Christ's followers, we get access to His unspeakable power, His never ending love, and yes, His limitless grace. There is no sin we can commit and no distance we can travel away from Him where He will not bridge the gap with the full force of his power, love, and grace. That’s someone worth surrendering to and living for.

And that Someone is Jesus.

MEDITATION:
Do you feel that you live fully surrendered to Jesus? What is it that keeps you from doing so? Spend time asking God to reveal any obstacles that prevent you from living completely surrendered to Him.

_Bible Insight:_

Stephen in the new testament saw Jesus at the right hand of the Father
David in the old testament saw the same and said "The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand..."

Peter and Paul raised the dead in the new testament
Elijah and Elisha raised the dead in the old testament.

Paul was caught up to the third heavens and heard things;
Moses and some elders saw (a likeness of) God and sat down and ate and drank in His presence.

Paul the most prolific writer in the new testament with great revelation on the new creation may have had problem with his eyesight
Moses the most prolific writer in the old testament with great revelation on the old creation had powerful eyesight at age 120 years

No one in the new testament is recorded to have lived beyond 120 years
Many in the Old Testament lived way beyond that

Paul devoted his life to the gospel and stayed unmarried, fought the good fight, finished his race and went to be with Jesus
Enoch married and walked with God and was translated to heaven directly from earth.

Every apostle in the new Testament died
Elijah in the Old Testament went up in a whirlwind to heaven

So don't confuse Eternal Life with other things, because none of the saints in the old testament had eternal life; even though God's Spirit was with them and on them. Don't get carried away by bombastic talks about immortality, portals, court sessions, bilocation, translocation and australopithecus africanus. Lol.

All these things are real, so earnestly desire the best gifts, but keep your eyes on the simple solid truths of the kingdom, on Christ Jesus, rejoice that your name is written in His book of life, walk in faith and love.
