*"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."* -- John 9:4-5 (KJV)
___

Jesus was focused on His calling. Along the path of purpose lies many legitimate distractions. Until we master the discipline of keeping our eyes on the finished line, we will never finish strong in a world full of distractions.

Many want to be used of God but only few end up being used as God desires. The problem is that most of us start well, but along the line we lose steam. God desires that we will never settle for less than He has called us to achieve.

The work of missions calls for men of focus and men who are sold out to the cause of the master. God can use anyone but He would rather use those who are dedicated to His Kingdom agenda.

Dearly Beloved Partner & Friend,

Again as we continue to prepare for *#HTP2021* the Lord is calling us to greater discipline and care so we would be fit for His use. To that end, we shall keep praying and fellowshipping in His word, so that we don't fall short of our desires to be used of God. Whether you are "praying and going" or "giving and praying" or "giving, going and praying", may we be found fit for the Master's use.

As as today,

✍️
We have almost 50 volunteers who have registered and we need about 40 registered volunteers still. (Our target is a minimum of 80 volunteers, so we aim to get at least 90 volunteers registered so that if there are any shortfalls, it wouldn't be less than 80) Why not join us? *PURE WATER* (THE END)

_Key Bible Text:_
*In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.* (John 7:37-38 (KJV))

*DAILY DEW 10TH/NOVEMBER/2021*

*PURE WATER* (THE END)

_Key Bible Text:_
*In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.* (John 7:37-38 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The essence of this teaching is to remind and explain to an extent the importance of the "pure water" that can positively impact our conscience and cleanse our bodies. Please understand that the washing of our bodies refers to the outward transformation of the acts of our bodies.

Thus it is vital to explore other significant usage of the word _water_ Water as already explained refers to the word of God that cleanses us by first ridding us of evil conscience and then helping us conduct ourselves in line with our renewed minds. However, there is more.

This then brings us to the very important *rivers of living water* By this reference, Jesus introduced a new symbolic meaning to the word, "water", that is, the Holy Spirit. (John 7:39). Notice that in John 7:39 where this direct connection was made between water and the Holy Spirit, there was need to make a clear reference that Jesus meant "rivers of living water" as a specific reference to the Holy Spirit.

Here there is a slight difference that can be inferred with the phrase "washing of water" and "rivers of living water". The former may be from a fixed source whereas the latter is from a moving source. The Holy Spirit indeed, is ever moving, transforming and discipling men.

Indeed, there is a relationship with water and the Holy Spirit. Looking at John 1:33 (KJV), which says *"And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost."* We can see that water baptism required total submergence of the individual. Likewise, the operation of the "rivers of living water", that is, the Holy Spirit, requires total yielded-ness and submergence or to be more accurate, submission.

When we approach our High Priest, we must come as we have been invited to do, but we must come with readiness to allow both the pure water of the water and living water of the Spirit to run their course through our lives. Otherwise, even if we come, we would not know any change or difference in us. This is why many who "come" to Christ, and even attend church, are still without any meaningful transformation!

_MEDITATION:_
*Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.* (Hebrews 3:12-13 (KJV))

*KEEPING THE BODY BALANCED* (The End)

_Key Bible Text:_

*DAILY DEW 7TH/NOVEMBER/2021*

*KEEPING THE BODY BALANCED* (The End)

_Key Bible Text:_
*And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.* (1 John 4:16-17 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The fear of God ultimately leads to the love of God.

The love of God comes on the heels of the fear of God because that respect and devotion to His word is what God regards as love. A man's perspective of love is respect. For God, his perspective of love is obedience to His word. To love God, is to obey His commands. This is the love that 1John 4:16 speaks of. -- He that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God!

It is important to understand 1 John 4 verse 17 flowing from verse 16. Verse 17 speaks of a destination, a place we must all aspire to get to. It speaks to the ultimate goal of loving God-- to have boldness in the face of judgment because we have come to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ. See, loving God, obeying His word fills us with boldness. That's why the righteous are as bold as lion. Amen.

You can't be saying you are like Jesus in this world, while you are grossly underperforming or disobeying the word of God. This is why we have boldness-- because we are obedient to His Word. And we are obedient because we are in love with Jesus. And we love Jesus, because Jesus loved us first.

What does the Bible teach about loving God? (See John 14:15. Loving God is not merely making faith declarations or singing "I love you Lord" or "Jesus, lover of my soul". Loving God is in obedience to His Word)

This then brings us to verse 18 flowing directly from verse 17. The one who has actually matured in loving God, which means to be as Jesus is, to walk in obedience to His word, has nothing to fear. Please ponder these words. Jesus said the prince of this world is coming and He has nothing against Him. That's fearlessness as a result of perfect obedience. Perfect love here stands for perfect obedience. Hence, verse 20 & 21 explains that if we can't show love to men, we are jokers to think that we love God. #Selah

_MEDITATION:_
*Before you scream perfect love casts out fear, do you live in obedience to His Word? Where is your love without your life of obedience? The one who knows he is still struggling with obedience must reverently ask God for help. Even when we rest on the finished works of Christ, we must understand that we have nothing to boast except for God's mercy*

*KEEPING THE BODY BALANCED* (VI)

_Key Bible Text:_

_Key Bible Text:_
*And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.* (Luke 12:4-5 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The fear of God must come before, during & after the love of God.

Jesus was very clear about who we MUST fear-- God, who has the power to cast into hell! Whoever taught God no longer demand that we should fear him, is on his own. It is a cheap lie to deceive and mislead, no matter how innocently said. Whoever concludes that the love of God and the fear of God contradicts each other is unschooled in the word of righteousness.

When Noah, "moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world" he exemplified what the Bible teaches when it says, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Here is the question that must then be addressed. What about Bible portions that seems to suggest that love of God does not include the fear of God? Let's tackle the most powerful of them all- 1 John 4: 16-21. The chief problem begins when we single out verse 18 and begin to shout and dance with it, without understanding the context of its application.

First, read from verses 16 to 21 and ponder on it in the light of all we have shared already on the subject of love and fear of God. Please never take a subject or teaching or topic only from one or two portions of scripture. Rather, look up as many portions as possible that speaks on the subject. Be like the Berean Christians. Thus, relate back to all we have shared since this series began and the Bible portions explained therein.

Thus, we must approach 1 John 4:16-21 from a holistic approach. Only then can we understand what is being taught.

_MEDITATION:_
*What does it mean to be like Jesus? How does being like Jesus show that we are walking in or working towards perfect love? How does becoming more like Jesus relate with the fear of God?*

_Key Bible Text:_
*By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.* (Hebrews 11:7 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The love of God in the fear of God

Believers who try to discountenance the Old Testament or simply ignore it, are still unschooled in the word of righteousness. To truly know Jesus, you must SEARCH the scriptures. The scriptures does not only comprise of the New Testament. Hence, by referencing that IT WAS AN ACT OF FAITH that Noah moved with fear in building the Ark, the New Testament has successfully adopted and established the doctrine of the fear of God for believers in Christ Jesus.

Believers must move with fear at the word of God. God is too great and holy for us to do otherwise. The more of Him we know, the more of His love we grow and the more reverence we hold for him. Maybe, knowing a man may not strike us in this way, but knowing Christ more, should definitely strike us, with as much love for Him as fear for Him.

Just as interestingly, Noah moved with fear in preparing the ark and arrived at faith. Likewise as we move with fear in obeying the word of God, it does not only result in faith, but we arrive at more love for God. *The outcome of true fear for God, which drives us to more obedience to His word, is greater love for Him as we see the wonder we become in Him.*

This sort of fear, is what makes the Word of God the means by which God chastises His beloved children. The man whom you do not fear, even his words would be but child's play and nothing to be taken seriously. However, when we truly love God,we tremble at His words. His Word then become an instructive guide that we can't bear to ignore. Such that when it is evoked upon us, we develop a godly sorrow that works repentance.

And what other act shows love for God than when we repent at the rebuke of His word, because we fear Him?

_MEDITATION:_
*For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.* (2 Corinthians 7:10-11 (KJV)) {Please cross reference this passage with other translations of the Bible.}

*Warning Against Oppression*

_Key Bible Text:_
*Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.*
(James 5:4 (NKJV))

_Bible Insight:_
The Bible is not against the rich or those with means. 1 Timothy 6:10 says the love of money is the root of all evil. Money is not the issue but our heart that uses money to promote ourselves and oppress others is the issue. The Bible warns us against this heart posture which results in selfishness.

How do I know if I have this attitude? How I use my money and how I treat others reveals my heart. Everything we have is a gift from God. It is because of His grace and divine providence. How we look at our possessions and money influences how we live.

If you understand everything is a gift from God, it results in being generous, sacrificial, content and being a good steward. On the other hand, if you think you have earned what you have, if you view that what you have is because of your hard work and achievement, then you become ruthless with money (v.4). In our culture we see people hold out on payments for workers, be stingy with their tips, be calculating with change when dealing with the poor, not sharing resources and under paying people.

The rewards we work for in this world using our strength are no match for the eternal glorious reward that Christ gives. How is it possible to access this imperishable reward? There is no way we can work and earn this reward. This reward is earned by the perfect life of Jesus and His perfect sacrifice on the cross. And this is for those who put their faith in Christ as the One who rewards them instead of seeking their own trophies in this world

_MEDITATION:_
*What is your attitude with regard to your money and possessions? Are you investing in things that corrode and rot, or are you investing in eternal riches?*

*DAILY DEW 2ND/NOVEMBER/2021*

*SUBMIT TO GOD*

_Key Bible Text:_
*Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.*
(James 4:7 (NKJV))

_Bible Insight:_

There is a certain attitude that does not submit to God. And James strongly rebukes this attitude in the passage. James is addressing the attitude that is boastful and arrogant. He calls this evil.

Even though in our culture we don’t like people who boast, all of us boast in our hearts. Boasting reveals what our heart finds confidence and security in. It shows what’s important to us, what we value and what we live for. On the surface it looks like good planning, hard work and being diligent. But deep down in our hearts, it is an attitude that is wise in its own eyes, foolish, arrogant and proud.

This attitude does not recognize that God is sovereign and in control, but instead relies on self-confidence and self-reliance. It is foolish behavior. And this foolishness results in selfish behavior.

James warns us that though we might think we are in control of our lives, the reality is that life is fragile. We are like a mist that appears and disappears. Our life is fleeting. We will be soon forgotten. Nothing we do or keep is forever. It will waste away and rot.

A life that submits to God recognizes this feeble and fleeting nature of life. It is recognized in the transient and temporal nature of earthly pursuits, and seeks and invests in eternal and glorious pursuits.

*MEDITATION*

The recently released Future of the Global Church has a section on the unevangelized. While the percentage of the world who are unevangelized has decreased, the absolute number of unevangelized has increased. The text on page 161 says *"The disturbing truth is that there may still be nearly 2 billion individuals who have never had a chance to hear the Gospel."*

The Atlas of Global Christianity based on the World Christian Database defines an "evangelized person" as "An individual who has had adequate opportunity or opportunities to hear the Gospel and respond to it, whether he responds positively or negatively". Using this definition the Atlas breaks the globe into World A, B, C where World A is considered the unevangelized. The Atlas suggests there are over 2,000,000,000 (2 billion) individuals in World A. Atlas p. 312-313

We are within range of penetrating every people group on the planet with the light of the gospel with more momentum than ever before in history. Be a part of it — find a place of historic significance in declaring "His glory among the nations!"

*STARTING UP* (II)

_Key Bible Text:_
*I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.* (Philippians 4:13 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

Hardwork will keep you busy.

You have to act on your ideas and work on your plans too whether you have all the resources and support or not. Again, you need self-confidence. Understand that you deserve the best and that you have the abilities to withstand all the challenges and difficulties that will come, because they will.

For patience, this is very vital too.
Patience will keep your hope alive as you wait for your breakthrough.

Pay attention to this ⚠️

There's something in the Far East called the "Chinese bamboo", it take 5years to grow and in this 5years it remains in the ground and it requires constant watering, fertilization, weeding etc for it to survive but when it finally comes out of the ground after the 5years, it now grows 90feet tall in 5weeks. 90feets can be 20times the height of an average individual.

But the success of this Chinese bamboo to grow pass its start up stage, won't be possible if faith, work, confidence, patience etc weren't applied. And am saying to you, Whatever you are facing today, know that those challenges and struggles are worth your victory.
If you were able to conceive that dream, then you can also achieve it.🔥🔥💪🏾

I applaud your courage and desire to take decisions, start up a new business, a new life or act on your dreams. You'll surely make it with the help of God. For with God, everything is possible.

Find reasons not to quit. Find those reasons to keep you marching forward even when the whole world is saying stop!🙏🏾

Have a Blessed New Month! 😇

*MEDITATION*
*Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.* (Ephesians 4:28 (KJV))

*STARTING UP*

_Key Bible Text:_
*For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.* (1 John 5:4 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The most difficult stage of any new life, career, business, invention and growth generally, is starting up.

When you enter an airplane, before it takes off, you'll be asked to fasten your seatbelt because of an altitude the airplane will attain. But after that turbulent period, everything will come back to normal. And this is what happens when you set off to achieve great heights, you'll need hold on through some hurdles, rejections, disappointments, failures etc till after sometime when things will start to work out well. That's life!

Unfortunately, in reality, most people are not willing to hold on: they seek for instant results. Some don't have the courage to pull through the start up stage and they just settle for less. Some start and stop, some blame the government, family and friends for not giving them enough support. Most are afraid of failing even before getting started.

Overcoming the difficulties associated with the start up stage requires us to have faith, hardwork, confidence and patience. You have to believe in your ideas, goals, plans, career etc. Know that your ideas can change the world.

You have to have the faith that things will work out well. If not instantly but soon. You have to also assure yourself everyday of the possibility of what you've hoped for.

*MEDITATION*
*But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.* (Hebrews 11:6 (KJV))

*CHECKING YOUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH METER* (II)

_Key Bible Text:_
*Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.* (Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

These “symptoms” come as warnings to us to address the intruder immediately, so that it does not progress into something more serious or shut our systems down immediately. The same way these “warning signs” come to tell us when we’re running on empty, when our God-meter is dangerously low/blinking red.

We should not even let it get to this point, because we are to stay constantly filled with the Spirit and in continual communion with God, but in the case that it has/does and we have recognized the problem, the solution is not to stay trapped in guilt and self-loathing. It does no good.

The solution is to immediately take up the sword of Spirit - the word of God, step into worship, and put on the garment of brokenness; this is how you put fire on your altar.

We are the worst versions of ourselves when we are apart from God. We underestimate the damage we’re capable of, apart from God. So child of God, read your Bible and pray *everyday*. Stay planted in God. Keep that meter full and that battery charged.

*MEDITATION*
*For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.* (Ephesians 6:12-13 (KJV))

*CHECKING YOUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH METER* (I)

_Key Bible Text:_
*Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?* (2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

This is how I am/know when my ‘God-meter’ is low/on red:
1. I mindlessly lie and easily become manipulative.
2. I crave more worldly content (especially songs) than godly content.
3. I crave *a lot* of junk food; a very very very unhealthy amount.
4. I become very irritable and quick to get angry.
5. The days feel too long and the nights feel too short - I do not look forward to doing anything productive. There’s no inspiration to do anything productive.
6. When I sleep, my dreams make less and less sense.
7. I become careless with my thoughts, and allow them wander to sexual places.

We all have a ‘God-meter’, and when that meter starts to run on empty, we know. It’s different things for different people, but we can all tell the clear difference between when we’re *filled* with the Spirit and when we’re hanging on to the last strand of spiritual sensitivity we have left. We know.

It’s the way a typical Nigerian knows when they’re about to come down with malaria. For some, they have injuries or boils in/around their mouths and noses. For some others, like me, it starts with a sore throat. For yet some, it starts with pain around your joints. We all know.

*MEDITATION*
*How do you know your God-meter is running low? If you identify the signs, you should be able to deal with ensuring you don't run low.*

*DAILY DEW 28TH/OCTOBER/2021*

*KEEPING THE BODY BALANCED* (III)

_Key Bible Text:_
*He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.* (John 3:36 (KJV))

_Bible Insight:_

The wrath of God vs the love of God.

The wrath of God abides, (i.e. rests) on anyone who does not believe the Gospel. This is a scary truth that many fights against, especially those who do not believe. They always wonder *"how possible is it that God would sentence billions to hell or lake of fire or eternal death & destruction, simply because they do not believe Jesus or the Gospel?"* Well, they can wonder all they want, but God is not joking. The matter is sealed. Actually, people make their choice to go to hell, God only honours it. The only way out is actually for anyone who wants to be saved, to believe the gospel. There is no other way! (By the way, why would Jesus come to die if there was another way to salvation? 🤷🏽‍♂ )

One of the ways to get a balance in the body of Christ is to understand and teach the doctrine of eternal condemnation of the unbelieving vis a vis God's great love, accessible by believing the Gospel. In effect, we can see two sides of God's personality (three actually): His love and His Love (& His Holiness); or His great mercy and His Consuming fire. God detests sin because He is a holy God. He would not just let sin slide. Judgment will follow in due course if there is no repentance.

Actually, His great love to redeem men from sin, is because He wants them to escape His wrath which is the punishment for sin. (Holiness demands that sin is punished)

For those who understand this, what must be our reaction? For Paul the Apostle, he embraced the preaching of the Gospel because he submits that the Gospel is the power of God to save. (Rom 1:16) But he didn't stop there. He also said that in the Gospel, God's righteousness is revealed (seen in the righteousness of Jesus who died for sins in order to save sinners) and also God's wrath is revealed (seen in his judgment against sin)! (Rom 1:17-18)

An understanding of the love and wrath of God, will push the believer to live and preach the Gospel more than ever before, while it will push the unbeliever to believe and accept the Gospel immediately.

*MEDITATION*
*For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.* (2 Corinthians 5:10-11 (KJV))
