*FOLLOW THOU ME*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?"* (John 21: 21(KJV))
_Bible Insight_
In John 21:21, Peter asks Jesus about the fate of John, one of Jesus' beloved disciples. This question comes after Jesus had just revealed to Peter the manner of his own death (John 21:18-19). Peter, still reeling from this revelation, can't help but wonder about John's future.
Jesus' response is instructive: "If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me" (John 21:22). In essence, Jesus tells Peter to focus on his own calling and not compare himself to others. This lesson remains relevant today. We often find ourselves comparing our lives, ministries, or careers to those of others. However, Jesus reminds us that our primary concern should be following Him, not worrying about someone else's journey.
The lesson from John 21:21 is clear: our focus should be on obeying God's will for our lives, rather than comparing ourselves to others. When we fix our eyes on Jesus and follow Him, we can trust that He will take care of everyone else's path.
_MEDITATION:_
