_Key Bible Text:_
*"And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."* (John 20:28-29 (KJV))
_Bible Insight_
_Thomas' Confession_
Thomas, having seen the resurrected Jesus and having touched His wounds, makes a profound confession: "My Lord and my God." This declaration acknowledges Jesus' divinity and lordship, and it marks a turning point in Thomas' faith. He has moved from doubt and unbelief to a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ.
_The Blessing of Faith_
Jesus' response to Thomas highlights the importance of faith. While Thomas believed because he saw, Jesus pronounces a blessing on those who believe without seeing. This blessing is not limited to the disciples or the early Christian community; it extends to all who have put their faith in Jesus Christ throughout history. This verse emphasizes the value and reward of trusting in God's word and promises, even when we don't have tangible evidence.
_Lesson for Us_
The lesson from this verse is that faith is not about seeing or experiencing physical proof; it's about trusting in God's character and promises. We are blessed when we believe in Jesus Christ, not because we've seen Him with our physical eyes, but because we've put our trust in His word and promises.
_MEDITATION:_
*May we cultivate a deeper faith in our Lord, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty, even when we don't have all the answers!*
