*DAILY DEW 28/FEBRUARY/2023* *WHEN GOD'S "YES" APPEARS LIKE A "NO"* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Before the battle the Israelites went to Bethel and asked God, "Which tribe should go first to attack the people of Benjamin?" The Lord answered, "Judah is to go first." But Benjamin's warriors, who were defending the town, came out and killed 22,000 Israelites on the battlefield that day."* (Judges 20:18,21 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ A very interesting story it was. Benjamintes have done the unthinkable and unpardonable by every standard. You will see the gory details in Chapter 19 of the Book of Judges. The rest of the tribe of Israel demands that the culprits must be brought to book. But the Benjamintes would not agree. Hence, they went to war against Israel. Not to be too forward, the Israelites asked God, if they should go up to battle against their brethren the Benjamintes. God said YES and even directed that the people of Judah should take the lead. They went, but alas, the Benjamintes defeated them, and killed 22,000 soldiers of Israel. 🥺 How can it be? How can you seek the face of God, hear God right, and still not have the expected results? How can you do everything right, yet it appears the evil tides are winning? What do you do when it seems everything is working against you, even when you have done nothing wrong? _MEDITATION:_ *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
