*DAILY DEW 20/NOVEMBER/2022* *CHURCH LEADERSHIP SELECTION* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles."* (Acts 1:24-26 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ My Church had an election last week to choose our National leaders, it was a greatly successful exercise as all the people chosen are dependable, reliable and able under God's leading. Even it's through other methods, we may end up with almost the same team. I've since seen a lot of arguments on why a church should choose spiritual leaders through election, adjudged by some as carnal methodology. What God does is that He appoint leaders! Whichever method a church adopted to get this done is left with the church after Prayers. There's no hard and fast rule in this. God specifically made Adam and Eve, that didn't stop the Devil from shifting them! He audibly and physically related with Abraham, that didn't prevent Ishmael saga! He dramatically called Moses, but that didn't prevent the smitten of the Rock. Saul divinely became king, following the people's demand, but Saul still failed. No record of God calling Daniel, Shedrack, Meshach and Abednego, but they succeeded! Both Hezekiah and Ahab were Kings in Israel, their outcomes differ. In the New Testament, Judas was not chosen via election! The Lord chose him after prayers through the night. Stephen and Philip were selected by men! However, they were better than Judas, chosen directly by Christ himself. My argument is that it's not the method that is the problem, it's the person's involved. I know churches that chose through prophesy, vision, and revelation. Others choose based on experience and years of service, others do theirs through biological relationship. Whichever way, all that matters is for God to be glorified. Jesus chose siblings! If it's today, it will be misunderstood. The next Church leader after Jesus was his brother James! Who was still an unbeliever when Peter and co were already apostles! If it's today, social media will be on fire. _MEDITATION:_ *Brethren, we all can't use the same method. *DAILY DEW 17/JULY/2022* *MAKING MANY MIGHTY* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.* (Matthew 4:19 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ What really is Christianity, what are we expected to do on earth as believers? Education is good, just that I have come across Professors of Religion who don't know the Lord. Books that almost confused me as a Young believer were written by a Bishop, who has Double PhDs in both Old and New Testament, now a Muslim. It's not by building great edifice or Camps, Zion City is still fresh on our minds. It's not by pulling crowd, no denomination has pulled the crowd of Muhammed. Miracles are good, but God has no monopoly of it, sometimes Satan's blessings are faster, only they don't last,and with terrible consequences. What then is important, to memorize scriptures is great, but Satan is also an expert,when he met Christ, every statement was from the Bible! You may also need to know that the man who recited the whole Bible of hand,without a single error, was later suspended by his church for not living up to a verse, so it's not about knowledge, but what we do with it. God is love brethren, how many people are you a blessing to? Who is thanking God that you answered the call? *Leadership in the church is not position, many are only taking a walk, because no one is following.* Jesus turned annoying, faithless, crude, illiterate, and feeble minded fishermen to great Apostles, Jesus ascended gloriously to Heaven because He had trained trusted disciples.
