*DAILY DEW 8/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Ministry Musings* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."* (2 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ No guest minister is responsible for building a local assembly. It is the work of the Pastor in charge of the flock. Special meetings carry much intensity as we sit for hours learning God's word and praying and yes, there can be great experiences powerful enough to position the church for more growth, *however, it's the regular weekly meetings that give depth to the flock.* Hence, the Pastor cannot outsource the growth of the members to guest ministers. He must be well trained and grounded to train men. Annual conventions and camp meetings are great but the church doesn't grow mainly on these. Also, when the people aren't aware of this, they honor guest ministers who show up once a year while despising those who labour over them every week by not showing up well for the meetings. _MEDITATION:_ *Ministry is the Father's business We have been called to mind this It must be done with every sense of urgency, And with much dedication & consistency. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away."* (1 Peter 5:2-4 (KJV) _Bible Insight:_ When ministers run after money as the main thing in ministry, it's because they forget that money is just an amplifier. If what you're building isn't biblical and solid, money won't make it so. Money doesn't build ministry; it only amplifies what's being built in the ministry. Sound doctrine, prayer, discipleship, fellowship, witnessing, are things that build lasting works. We must always set our minds on these! It's always disastrous when money amplifies what's weak in substance. If the ministry isn't impactful without money, the minister shouldn't be thinking of money. *DAILY DEW 30/AUGUST/2023* *Resisting The Unholy Romance* (IX) _Key Bible Text:_ *"You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover"* (James 4:4-5 (The Message) _Bible Insight:_ These words of God are not before us for our consideration; they are there for our obedience and we have no right to claim the title of Christian unless we follow them. For myself, I fear any kind of religious stir among Christians that does not lead to repentance and result in a sharp separation of the believer from the world. I am suspicious of any organized revival effort that is forced to play down the hard terms of the kingdom. No matter how attractive the movement may appear, if it is not founded in righteousness and nurtured in humility it is not of God. If it exploits the flesh it is a religious fraud and should not have the support of any God-fearing Christian. Only that is of God which honors the Spirit and prospers at the expense of the human ego. “That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:31) The End. _MEDITATION:_ *Think of God as a Jealous God that He is. Think of anything worldly as unfaithfulness and cheating on God. *DAILY DEW 29/AUGUST/2023* *Resisting The Unholy Romance* (VIII) _Key Bible Text:_ *"The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions."* (Galatians 5:17 (NLT) _Bible Insight:_ It is true also that the grosser manifestations of fallen human nature are part of the kingdom of this world. Organized amusements with their emphasis upon shallow pleasure, the great empires built upon vicious and unnatural habits, unrestrained abuse of normal appetites, the artificial world called “high society”— these are all of the world. They are all part of that which is flesh, which builds upon flesh and must perish with the flesh. And from these things the Christian must flee. All these he must put behind him and in them he must have no part. Against them he must stand quietly but firmly without compromise and without fear. So whether the world presents itself in its uglier aspects or in its subtler and more refined forms, we must recognize it for what it is and repudiate it bluntly. We must do this if we would walk with God in our generation as Enoch did in his. A clean break with the world is imperative. _MEDITATION:_ *"So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives.
