*CALLED, PRESERVED & SANCTIFIED* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward."* (Hebrews 11:24-26 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
As glorious as God's call upon every believer is, yet, it is not a glory without a story of blood. "No blood, no glory" truly. This is synonymous to saying "no suffering, no glory".
We are called not only to share in the amazing nature of God Almighty as his sons, but to share in his spectacular ability to suffer "unjustly" but for righteousness.
1 Peter 2:21-23 (KJV) captures this perfectly: *"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:"*
He went on to explain further:
*"Who (JESUS) did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously"*
The ability to suffer for the cause of the kingdom, or for righteousness sake is a mark of God's calling. We cannot truly answer His call, and possibly avoid all chances of suffering for the sake of refusal to be compromised.
At one time and in one way or another, you will encounter situations that will test you, situations that will put you in a position to either compromise and make some sort of profit, or refuse to compromise and suffer some losses.
And some times your being bent on obeying the God and preaching the Gospel or living as a believer in righteousness, will cause you persecution or unjust denial of your right and entitlement. This is also part of the call of God and you must be ready!
Dear friends, once you receive Jesus, God's call is upon your life. You are no longer going to have it your way all the time. More of often than not, you will suffer simply because you chose to do what pleases God, rather than what feels convenient or easy. Always remember this.
_MEDITATION:_
*But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.* (1 Peter 5:10 (KJV))

*SHUNNING HYPOCRISY*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"* (Luke 6:41 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
You may choose to be fake anywhere else; but please, not in church.
In church, be real about life and godliness. No forming. No airs. No pretense...because in a real church, you are not just dealing with men. You are dealing with God.
There are two kinds of pretenders.
1. The hypocrites: those who are still in love with the world and with sin but like to look holy in Christians circles. Yes. Big mistake. There's no point in living such a life. Stop wasting your time going to church. At the end of the day, you gain nothing but judgment. Make up your mind to lay hold of the grace of God, wave a final goodbye to the world, and follow Jesus with your whole life.
2. The disobedient: those who think being real means behaving anyhow in the corporate fellowship of believers - dressing anyhow, saying anything, and just 'being yourself'. Er....No. Christian faith is not about you. Church is not about you. It is about God. It is about Jesus. And to be in church means to be there for Him. Not for yourself. Who He is. How great He is. What He has done. His will. His word. His purpose etc. You are there, not to just express yourself and stay deformed, but to meet the Lord Christ and be transformed.
1. are pretending that God they are worshipping in public is not present in their private lives
2. are pretending that God they are running away from privately is not present in the corporate worship
Lord have mercy on His people.
_MEDITATION:_
*Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.* (Luke 6:42 (KJV))

*CALLED, PRESERVED & SANCTIFIED* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are SANCTIFIED by God the Father, and PRESERVED in Jesus Christ, and CALLED"* (Jude 1:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
The call of Jesus upon us is one that makes us become the sons of God. Once we are saved, we move from being merely children of our earthly parents, to being children of the Almighty God.
*Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.*
*Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.*
*And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.* (1 John 3:1-3 (KJV))
No one called by Jesus, answers and continues to live like every other person who is not saved. The children of the Almighty must of necessity live like their heavenly Father.
By virtue of this call, we become partakers of God's nature-- a nature of godliness, glory and virtue. We are no longer ordinary. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. (2 Peter 1:3 (KJV))
Dear friends, once you receive Jesus, God's call is upon your life. You are no longer ordinary. Your nature is not merely that of human. You become infused and invested with the divine attributes of God. You become a replica of Jesus on earth.
_MEDITATION:_
*But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear* (1 Peter 1:15-17 (KJV))

*CALLED, PRESERVED & SANCTIFIED*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are SANCTIFIED by God the Father, and PRESERVED in Jesus Christ, and CALLED"* (Jude 1:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
JUDE was writing to everyone who believes and follows Christ, including you and I. It is important to think through the key words he used to refer to the Christian-- Called, Preserved, & Sanctified.
Are you called? Yes, everyone who believes and follows Jesus must answer the call of God through Jesus Christ. It is a call to come out from darkness into light.
1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) : *But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELLOUS LIGHT*
In other words, it is a call to shun the works of darkness:
2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV): *Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? AND WHAT COMMUNION HATH LIGHT WITH DARKNESS?*
Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) : *And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.*
You have been called by Jesus. You and I used to be darkness, if you are truly saved. You must remember, that your calling is one that once you answer, you must move from darkness to light. Darkness is synonymous with secrecy. Whatever you would rather not let Jesus know you are involved in, whatever you wont like others to know you are doing, is a reminder of darkness. Shun it. Reprove it.
Whenever any works of darkness calls, remind them, and yourself that light has already called your name and you answered. Amen.
_MEDITATION:_
*And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.* John 3:19-21 (KJV)

*Servants of Jesus*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called"* (Jude 1:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Jude wrote calling himself a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James. Truth is, Jude like James, are half brothers of Jesus.
*"Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?"*
(Matthew 13:55 ASV)
This Judas is same as Jude. It is important to note that Jude could have readily associated & introduced himself as Jesus' brother. It is not an easy feat to be from the same biological family and parent as Jesus. Is it?
However, Jude was very sensitive and totally spiritually aligned. He rather placed himself as a servant of Jesus than lay claim to his relationship to Jesus biologically speaking.
What does this teach us? *Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.*
(2 Corinthians 5:16 ASV)
It is not by associating with Jesus in the flesh that makes for salvation or spiritual growth. It is being obedient to the word of God, that makes the real difference.
By identifying themselves as servants of Jesus, they show their determination and priority to obey Jesus. They show that they understood who Jesus truly was.
In our relationship with Jesus, we can address ourselves as brothers or sisters of Jesus, but what is most important is our ability to obey His words. Obedience to Christ is the true definition of service to Christ. And when we truly obey Jesus (serve him) then are we his brothers and sisters indeed!
_MEDITATION:_
*"While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said,Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."* Matthew 12:46-50 (KJV)
