*THE THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN EVERY TEAM* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Only 300 of the men drank from their hands. All the others got down on their knees and drank with their mouths in the stream. The Lord told Gideon, "With these 300 men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites. Send all the others home." So Gideon collected the provisions and rams' horns of the other warriors and sent them home. But he kept the 300 men with him. The Midianite camp was in the valley just below Gideon."* (Judges 7:6-8 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
The job of leadership is to identify those with passion for the vision, and empowering them to do better. This is usually done by removing or reducing internal negative influence on one hand. And on the other hand, by giving the motivated members more room and tools to express themselves.
*2. The Motivated and Passionate People:*
These ones are the motivated and passionate members of the team. They go the extra mile and they take the work as a personal business. The wins of the team are considered a personal achievement while the losses of the team are considered by a personal loss by these set of people.
They are out to succeed and to labour until they get the mission accomplished. They don't accept no for an answer and they don't give up at the slightest provocation. On the contrary, they lose their comfort and will never rest until the purpose of the team is achieved. They take personal joy and fulfilment in depriving themselves for the sake of the general good of the group.
They see opportunity in every difficulty, and they turn every excuse to uses. They don't wait to be motivated or encouraged, they are self motivated and self encouraged. They are ever ready to sacrifice in order to see the success of the team.
They are the sort of people that every leadership desires and delight to have. When you have such, treasure them and as much as possible, remove everything that can become an encumbrance in their way, especially administrative wise. Rather, give them more feathers to fly. Like Gideon, collect "the provisions and rams' horns of the other warriors", and give such to the motivated and passionate few.
These are the kind people that God delivers the victory to any team, church, organization, etc. The tower of babel project was comprised of such people until God came down to divide them through language barrier. Except God stops such people, any team or group or church or organization with these kinds of motivated and passionate members and workers always stands out as a successful one.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Make up your mind, if you will join any group, belong to any church, or be a part of any organization, ensure you are the motivated and passionate type in the group. Otherwise, do them a favour and stay away, and save the leadership and the rest of the team, the avoidable trouble."*

*THE THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN EVERY TEAM* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But the Lord told Gideon, "There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not." When Gideon took his warriors down to the water, the Lord told him, "Divide the men into two groups. In one group put all those who cup water in their hands and lap it up with their tongues like dogs. In the other group put all those who kneel down and drink with their mouths in the stream."* (Judges 7:4-5 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
Everyone who is a part of a team is not necessarily supposed to be a part of that team/group/or organization. So we take note of this second group of people that may be a part of a team but are not best fitted to be in such group. The role of leadership is fine tuning and helping such people find their best place to serve.
*2. The Complacent and Relaxed People:*
These ones are the just too comfortable and relaxed people. They don't want to be bothered so much. They don't see anything to improve upon. They just want to be part of the team, without going the extra mile to make a positive impact. They are not really crazy about what is going on in the team. They are just fine belonging to the team whether or not they get their desired results or purpose of the team.
The problem with this set of people, is that they don't bring their A game to the team. They don't want to be disturbed. They are good with excuses. They are the ones with most of the wrong attitude towards the work. And they won't necessarily quit the team, or the work unless you make them to.
The challenge of leadership is to actually be sensitive to these types of people. If they are open to correction, (which is hardly, the case) you can groom them to become better members. Otherwise, don't hesitate to redirect them to another place or unit. Wrong attitude to the mission of the team, is more dangerous than not having enough hands to run the vision of the team. Few members with the right attitude will always defeat a crowd full of wrong attitude.
_MEDITATION:_
*"An effective leadership is one that is sensitive and serious enough to identify those with wrong attitude and either send them out of the team or correct them. Never should the wrong attitude be allowed to fester."*

*THE THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN EVERY TEAM*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The Lord said to Gideon, "You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength. Therefore, tell the people, 'Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain and go home.'" So 22,000 of them went home, leaving only 10,000 who were willing to fight."* (Judges 7:2-3 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
IN every group, ministry, church, organization, etc who are out to achieve one mission or the other, you will find at least three kinds of people that make up its ranks and membership.
The story of Gideon gives us a good picture and understanding of these kinds of people and the traits or tendencies they possess. It is good to explore this lesson to know these types of people. If you identify yourself with certain traits that you don't think is appropriate, you have what it takes to un-learn those unlikable tendencies and attitude and rather learn the winning ways.
Let's begin with the first kind of people you will find in any group, church, organization or team.
*1. The Timid and Fearful Types:*
These ones are usually too careful or too fearful or too timid. They don't usually believe in possibilities. Rather, they see difficulties, risks, problems, and impossibilities.
They are quick to throw in the towel. They are quick to give up. They are usually the first to change from one unit to another, at the slightest provocation. They are the first to take a walk when the goings gets tough. They don't see the need to ride on the storms, iron out issues peaceably, or keep going against the odds. Once there is a shaking, they are the first to fly off, with an attitude of good riddance to bad rubbish at times.
Don't be like that. If you must be a part of a team, don't be among those that quit at the slightest sound of inconvenience, risk or danger. Don't also be among those that quit at the slightest opportunity to drop out of the race.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Leadership is not only about keeping all in the race as much as possible, it is also about encouraging those who must quit the race/team, to do so as quickly as possible so they don't drag others back."*

*THE DEMANDS OF CONSECRATION*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out!"* (Proverbs 20:5)
_Bible Insight:_
I met this man of God at a Prayer camp in Abuja and while talking with him he told me how Satan nearly destroyed him.
Against his consecration, he once allowed a committed sister in his ministry to visit his house. He was alone that day. The girl had told him it was an emergency, a case of life and death so he allowed her come home.
Immediately she entered his parlour and realized he was home alone, she stripped off her clothes (stark naked), locked the door, took the key and demanded sex from the man. The man got offended and tried to rebuke her but she threatened him that she will shout. The man of God started begging her but she said "NO".
She said he had always waited for a day like that to come. The man got confused, but Prayed quietly in his spirit, and the Holy Ghost whispered to him. The Spirit of God asked him to enter the toilet and he ran in there immediately and shut the toilet door.
From the toilet window he saw a neighbor passing and had to call out to the neighbor and explained his dilemma. The neighbor knocked on the main parlour door that was locked by this Jezebel and she didn't know the man of God had already told the neighbor so she opened the door and the neighbor used a "necessary slap" to call the agent of darkness to order.
That was how the man got delivered from that hellish trap that could have destroyed his name and ministry.
After the man of God personally shared this ordeal with me, I became scared and vowed a vow of watchfulness forever.
Dear minister of the Gospel and Believers, Don't loosen your consecration because of emergencies. I have heard of people who fell into sexual sins because someone was crying and wiping the persons tears through compassion they got driven into unholy passion.
Don't lose your guard, Satan sets traps in all corners so just be watchful. Never ever allow yourself to be in a corner with an opposite sex. Don't trust your self or even your anointing. Anointing cannot help you, it failed Samson.
Just flee or Set Standards that will help your life.End unnecessary closeness with the opposite sex, whether you're married or not.
_MEDITATION:_
*"May unwatchfulness not cause Jezebel to hijack your Mantle. THE TIME IS NOW. It is time to draw wisdom and discipline from this spiritual Well through CONSECRATION."*

*THE POWER OF POSITIVE FEAR* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God"* (Genesis 42:18 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
"...For I fear God"
Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV) counsels us as follows *"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."*
This is the WHOLE duty of man! That's to say, there is nothing that God expects of man than that MAN FEARS GOD and keeps his commandments!
Joseph could have gotten back at his siblings who maltreated him, left him for dead, and sold him off to slavery, but HE FEARED GOD!
Joseph could have slept with Potiphar's wife, but He FEARED GOD!
Joshua 24:14 (KJV) reminds us as follows: *"Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD."*
Every believer has crossed the floods and have escaped Egypt. Before the flood and within Egypt, you don't have need for the fear of God. No, you don't. Anything goes in Egypt and before the floods. But once you have crossed the floods of the red sea, and have escaped Egypt of worldliness, you MUST embrace the fear of God.
Mark this! The evidence that you have crossed the floods of the old man and escaped the corruption of Egypt, and slavery to sin, is the PRESENCE OF THE FEAR OF GOD IN AND UPON YOUR LIFE!
_MEDITATION:_
*"Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent."* (Acts 13:26 (KJV))
