*GROWTH DEMANDS TRAINING* (I)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."* (2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Focus on the training, the increase will come.
Numerical increase in the local church is of God and is the will of God. The mandate is to disciple the nations, and the local church is how God gets this done. As we go out, evangelising the lost, it is God's will that the saved be brought into the local church to be taught and trained as ministers of Christ. Thus, there is no one whose mind is fixed on God's mandate on the earth who would speak low of or despise numerical increase in the local church.
That said.
It is pertinent to always fix our mind on the REASON God adds people to His church. The idea isn't JUST to have a populated church, but to have more people trained to become effective ministers of the gospel. Any numerical increase that doesn't translate into this has fallen woefully short of God's purpose and plan. This is the ONLY reason a pastor ought to desire numerical increase; any other reason cannot be inspired by the Spirit of God.
People desire increase for many ridiculous fleshly reasons today.
For some, they want to be called one of the fastest growing churches in town.
For others, it is just to increase revenue. More people, more money.
While for some, it is just the satisfaction of seeing a mammoth crowd before them while they preach.
None of these should be THE REASON we desire numerical increase. Whatever our reason is will always reveal itself in HOW we go about our pursuit of God's desire to see more ministers trained and raised for the cause of His work.
_MEDITATION:_
*Now, if TRULY the reason you want increase is because you want disciples multiplied, then you know that it takes TRAINED (faithful) MEN to multiply disciples. That is, for you to be able to properly train and raise people as ministers of the gospel, you must ALREADY HAVE well trained ministers, who will get the work done. If you have more people than you have TRAINED hands, then you will fail woefully to multiply disciples. I believe this is very clear*

*PURSUE THE WORD*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 1:30-31 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Pursue the study of God's word like it's your first time. What births a transformation is repetitive learning.
Don't ever stop being a student of the gospel of Christ's death and resurrection, by which we have become new creatures in Him! Keep it fresh in your memory. Hang it around your neck. Cherish it. Dwell in it till it propels a lifestyle of gratitude to God and bearing witness to others about the largesse of His grace.
Be a student of the word! Dip your heart in God's Heart!
You said you will study your bible and pray everyday but you missed a day or two and you gave up.
A lot has been said about consistency but do you know that consistency is also about CONTINUING even when you fail sometimes? Learn to CONTINUE from where you STOPPED. Amen
_MEDITATION:_
*Wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, redemption, etc are all written in the Word, who is Jesus. You can't get deep into these if you don't pursue the word. Pursue the Word* -- David Joshua Egbochuo

*PRESERVED IN JESUS CHRIST*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and PRESERVED IN JESUS CHRIST, and called" (Jude 1:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
To preserve is to maintain (something) in its original or existing state.
The Bible teaches us that we are preserved IN Jesus Christ. We are "kept safe by Jesus Christ" (Message) or "keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ" (NLT) or "kept for Jesus Christ" (Amplified/NIV)
It is therefore evident that our preservation or safety is BY, IN, & FOR Jesus Christ. Let's meditate and ponder on this.
Your preservation or safety is not BY any other than Jesus Christ. This means of yourself you can't keep or preserve yourself. Only BY Jesus can we be kept. In deed, we are "kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Peter 1:5 (KJV))
We are kept IN Christ Jesus. Jesus is the Living Word of God, and our preservation and safety is assured as we continue IN Him! John 8:31-32 (KJV) says this *"If ye continue in MY WORD, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you FREE."*
OUTSIDE of Jesus (The WORD), we are neither preserved not safe. (Romans 11:21, 22; Acts 30:32) Our preservation is only guaranteed as we continue and remain in the Word.
Finally, we are kept FOR Jesus Christ. It is to the glory and use and pleasure of Jesus Christ that we are kept. We are not kept for personal aggrandizement or selfish reasons. We are kept for Christ. Not for our own selves but for His name sake and his glory, and kingdom advancement. God's "selfishness" is only in our best interest, but our selfishness is to our ruin. (Hebrew 12:10)
_MEDITATION:_
*For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.* (Philippians 2:13 (KJV))

*SANCTIFIED BY GOD THE FATHER* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.*
(Acts 20:32 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Take a close consideration of the following statements of Jesus:-
John 10:36 (KJV): *"Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"*
John 17:19 (KJV) *"And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth."*
The earlier John 10:36, was Jesus clearly saying that the Father has already sanctified him. But in John 17:19. He said he sanctifies himself. 🤔
Follow me. Jesus by the above demonstrated the two fold dimensions of sanctification. The first is the work of the Father to the son. The second is the work of the son, for the sake of all who will believe and follow him.
The second is only possible when the first has been settled. The first is constant but for us, the second is a variable that requires obedience. Just as Jesus had himself to learn obedience through the things he suffered.
Take a look again at Acts 20:32... The word of God's grace is (re)commended to us, because we are to be built up by the word through obedience. Obedience to the word gives us access to our inheritance among those that are sanctified. Look at that! Just look at that!
So apart from the first fold sanctification, we must continue in obedience, if we are to have access and right to our inheritance in Christ.
_MEDITATION:_
*Our sanctification in Christ is only a means to an end. Our continuous obedience to God's word, secures our place of inheritance among the sanctified. We are sanctified by the Father, so we can continue to sanctify ourselves through obedience to God's word*
