*DAILY DEW 19/MAY/2023* *CHALLENGES TO EVANGELISM* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word."* (Acts 4:29 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The major hindrances to soul winning and evangelism many believers face are: • shyness. • lack of boldness. • what to preach and how. Soul winning require boldness and courage. Sadly the fear many believers face is unnecessary, and it is satan that influences that. Who is afraid to share the good news? Who is afraid to bring people to experience the spiritual, physical and material goodness of God? The shyness many faces is from inexperience and exposure. When we got saved, we were immediately paired with other more mature believers who knew how to walk the streets and work the streets with boldness and ease. You see boldness and courage are quite contagious. They trained us on the streets by first sharing gospel tracts, they'd sent us to specific people wearing a menacing form and trained us to smile, greet and offer them the gospel tract, we did and it worked every time. They taught and trained us on how to use the outline of the tract we just passed out to preach, sometimes reading from it unashamedly, yes, you can read from a simple tract, and develop from where you can share without referencing any tract. *DAILY DEW 18/MAY/2023* *CALLED TO PRAY FOR THE NATIONS-- SUDAN* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves."* (Mark 11:17 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When the sounds of shelling erupted in Khartoum in April, 2023, Most Rev Ezekiel Kondo, Archbishop of Sudan, found himself protecting 42 families - including young children - inside All Saints Cathedral, in Khartoum. As mortars and artillery shells rained down, they sheltered inside, listening to gunfire all around them. But within hours, the Cathedral precincts were breached. Families hid in silence as armed men ransacked the outer compound, firing weapons into church vehicles, looting and wrecking offices. Only once they had left could children and parents pick their way through destroyed streets to try to escape the city. Communications with the Sudanese church leaders are now very difficult. "There is a lot of fear”, Archbishop Kondo told him by email, describing a desperate struggle to keep mobile phones charged and to search out food and water. “The Sudanese community here is fearful. They love this God so much that they won’t wait to become perfect before they cry Gods cry. Drag them from blog to blog, bring out all their dirty past and sell to your kind, just to bully them into silence; That is when you will know that they are just starting because There is nothing both Satan and man can do to a breed in God’s Hands that has nothing left to lose. Will it be in your time that they will look for someone that can tell this generation the truth about God and they will not find anyone in your city? Are you going to be among those that are in ministry who they will blackmail into silence and you are motivating your listeners to things that will not matter in eternity? Will they attend your next meeting and not know the difference between an end time minister of the gospel and a circular public speaker? Me, I have made my choice … I don’t know about you. *DAILY DEW 16/MAY/2023* *SETTING & ACHIEVING GOALS BY PRAYING* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish."* (Esther 4:16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Spiritual goal setting or setting goal by praying is a level every believer should attain. However, like Elijah we should set lofty goals. Elijah asked for rain to cease. He wanted to deal with his nation's evil leaders. Later, he prayed again, and rain fell. That is some real serious goal setting. Esther did even more. An entire tribe would have been wiped out. Motivated by her uncle and mentor, Esther mobilized prayer and fasting to specifically ask for a reversal of an evil decree. What are you asking God for? What kinds of spiritual goals are you setting? If you buy cars, get jobs, build houses, and the likes, that is normal. Do all that, if you will but do so much more. Go rather for something that really emphasizes the glory and power of God. Take a spiritual exercise. Take up a spiritual goal setting task. Pray for something that really matters beyond you and keep at it until it happens. Note however, that the greatest secret of effective spiritual goal setting is consistency in the place of prayer. Become a co-labourer with Christ, who ever liveth to make intercessions for the saints. _MEDITATION:_ *Stretch your faith. Take up a spiritual goal. Enter a season of praying with focus on that issue until it is done. Once done, take up another goal. *DAILY DEW 15/MAY/2023* *SETTING & ACHIEVING GOALS BY PRAYING* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]."* (James 5:17-18 (Amplified)) _Bible Insight:_ Goal setting is the ability or practice of forecasting or proposing targets or objectives you desire to achieve. It is usually done with a timeline in mind. For instance, "I want to preach and win a soul every week" is an example of a spiritual goal. Achieving a set goal takes a number of things. Action, patience, determination, planning, etc are all things that must go into the pursuit of achieving a set goal. However, in addition to all of the above, we need to intentionally add prayer as a necessary step towards achieving set goals. This approach of emphasis on achieving set goals through prayer is especially needed where the God factor cannot be overemphasized. Prayer alone without other steps will not do. However, the emphasis for now is achieving results through prayer. Certain goals will need more prayers than others.
