*Available AND USEABLE* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost"* (Acts 9:17 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
In the final analysis, the distinguishing feature of God's men will not be whether they are available or useable or even sendable. The real test is whether they will obey, or do, or comply with received instructions.
It is the consistency of our application of received instructions that will keep us as God's choice option when other divine needs or instruction arise. God does not force people. He naturally goes after those who go after him. Once you prove to be consistent and reliable, God makes more use of you, especially for more bigger assignments that require trusted and faithful hands.
The men who made a mark for God and the men who will make a mark for God, are the men who will take up instructions obediently, even when or especially when it is not their will!
3. He obeyed the instructions setting aside his personal wish or feeling.
It is not funny when the Lord will tell you to go and "sacrifice" your son or leave your job and go to the missions field or marry someone that doesn't quite strike you as your fairy tale queen charming or king charming!
It is not funny when you have to obey God's word to forgive your parents who left you or cared less when growing up or to forgive your spouse who annoyed you with no just cause or to forgive your church member who is always getting on your nerves or saying things that are not nice about you.
It is not funny, when you must go all out to strive to be at peace with people who don't give a hoot.
It is not funny when you have to apologize to people who should be the one apologizing to you all because the Spirit is impressing it upon you to take the initiative.
But that was just how Ananias at first was a bit at a loss as to why God would even want him to go pray for a Saul whose blindness should be an answered prayer.
A man that had a deep relationship with God, like Abraham, he dared to make a subtle objection or clarification at first. God answered him. And he obeyed. When he got there he could call this persecutor of a man, "Brother Saul".
This shows how much of obedience and faith Ananias has in what God has told him about Saul. He knew God too well to bother about doubting the brotherhood or conversion of Saul.

*Available AND USEABLE* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.* (2 Timothy 2:21 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Sometimes we read the Bible and almost assume that the characters were actors who were waiting for script or roles to play. How do I mean?
Has it ever occurred to you that Ananias was not jobless. We dont know for sure what his occupation was. Researchers and historians or bible scholars may have plausible ideas but certainly Ananias was not some idle guy waiting for God to speak or for his time to come so he can play his role and go.
2. He made himself both useable & available for God's work/use.
It is not funny but sincerely and practically speaking, you can be:
* available but not be useable; or
* useable but not available; or
* not useable and not available; or
* useable and available.
Many fall into the first three gategories. Few fall into the last. Indeed, many are called but few are chosen.
Ananias the damascus disciple was both available and useable. Remember there was one other Ananias with Saphira, who were available but not useable by God? Oh! You should not forget such lessons!
Your being available is good but not good enough! God wants you to be available AND useable. Or have you forgotten the rich young ruler, who was useable but not available to sell all his possession and follow Jesus?
Or how about the parable of the king who made a marriage for his son? Special guests were useable or fit or counted worthy for the marriage ceremony but were not available? Or what about the commoner from the street who though was available was not dressed for the occassion therefore not useable? (Mathew 22:11-13)
Friends, being available & useable is the goal. A whole lot are either available but not useable or they are useable but not available.
When the Lord called upon Ananias, he answered *"Behold, I am here, Lord."* Does this not remind you of what Samuel eventually learned to answer, from the Priest Eli? Speak Lord for thy servant hears?
*"May the much busyness, hustle and bustle of this generation not render us either unavailable or unuseable for the Lord. Amen."*
_MEDITATION:_
*“And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. AND HE SAID, BEHOLD, I AM HERE, LORD."* (Acts 9:10 (KJV))

_Key Bible Text:_
*“And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord."* (Acts 9:10 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
ANANIAS, the disciple at Damascus did not SUDDENLY hear God's voice.
It is true that he was never seen before or after this Acts 9:10-19 account of him. In nine verses or less, we read about this damascus disciple.
Researchers may have even more to say about him, but it is important to note that the short verses still gives some vital information about him that every believer must care to understand, emulate & apply.
1. He saw a vision.
Acts 9:10 (KJV) And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a VISION, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
This is one key the Lord uses to instruct his disciples. The mountain of transfiguration was a vision. (Mathew 17:9) Remember?
Zachariah the father of John the Baptist saw a vision about his childbearing in His old age. (Luke 1:22)
Cornelius and Peter saw a vision. This brought a major inroad of the Gospel being preached to Gentiles. It is a landmark precedent. (Acts 10:3 & 17)
With these few points it is safe to conclude that vision was not for "ordinary" people who have not known or had dealings with God.
Note the nature of these visions. They were very clearly divine and directive or instructive. They were neither vague nor were they received by ungoldly people. They commanded positive actions, that requires faith and trust in God.
It takes men who have nurtured their walk with God to enjoy visions of this sort or some other level of clear communication with God.
How is your walk with God? How is your hearing? Can God use you when he has a need to take care of? Are you sendable, useable and available?
_MEDITATION:_
*"God is still in the business of using people. Not just the available but the useable too."*

*Keys 🔠to Operate in the Anointing*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."* (Mark 16:17-18 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
1. Have a Solid Foundation
The most important thing for a believer to have before they operate in the power of God is a firm foundation in their walk with Christ.
One of the most dangerous things someone can do is jump into ministry and try to operate in the anointing without having a solid foundation.
2. Receive an Impartation
If you want to receive an impartation from God, you must first serve the purpose of God.
Learn to serve with the capacity that God has given you.
If you skip this step, you risk receiving an impartation, but nothing happening afterward.
3. Beware of Fear and Timidity
These feelings are big blockages for the flow of the anointing. As a person who desires to be used by God, one of the hindrances that satan will try to use is fear.
Know that sometimes you will minister out of faith, and other times you’ll minister out of obedience to God’s command.
4. Association Matters
Your environment is HUGE regarding developing what’s been deposited within you.
Get close to anointed men and women of God who can push you to grow. Often, when they point out weaknesses or character flaws within us, God uses that to catapult our development.
5. Yield to God
The anointing is for deployment. When God finds a man or woman who is yielded to Him, He allows His power to flow through them.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Allow God to use you to demonstrate His power in your city. Remember, when a house has electricity, connect anything, and it’ll work."*

*COMPASSION Compression*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Jesus wept"* (John 11:35 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
If the man with a solution had compassion why should people with no solution have no compassion too? 😥
JESUS had the solution. Jesus always has a solution. But he had lots of compassion too. He wept for Lazarus even when he came purposely to bring solution-- These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. (John 11:11 (KJV))
We live in a troubled world. We have so many many challenges and problems with little or no solutions.
Solutions have never equalled the demand of problems. Problems have exceeded the supply of solutions.
Solutions is so much in short supply compared to its demand. Sadly every solution comes with a "follow come" challenge or problem.
If you want admission, you must pass well. If you gain the admission, you must pay tuition fees, feeding fees, books and other resources- problem! Even the student loan newly passed into law in Nigeria may be more of a problem than a solution for the problem it was brought to deal with. Problem!
You turn left- problem. You turn right -problem. You do good. Problem. You fail to do good. Problem.
Guess what? The biggest problem in all is that we have problem with showing compassion. In fact, the compassion tank of most people are either completely empty or at its lowest level.
We need to fill up our compassion tanks.
If the man with a solution had compassion why should people with no solution have no compassion too? 😥
When we retrain our minds against all odds to show compassion especially when that is all we can do, we will begin to force open the possibilities of a miracle.
As a matter of fact, compassionate people are solution driven people. Every real good work has been done as a compassionate response.
The more compassion God sees in you over the challenges and problems you see around you, the more you give God additional reasons to bless you and make a miraculous solution for you to meet those needs.
Stop the compassion compression. Everyone maybe low key angry, dealing with their challenges, but choose to, and practice showing compassion even when others confront you with their own challenges and problems.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Compassion is a catalyst for miracles."*
