*"NEW UNCOMMON SPEED*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And it came to pass in a little while, that the heaven grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. and the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel."* (1 Kings 18:45-46 (ERV))
_Bible Insight:_
It is possible for one to enjoy supernatural speed in life. There are processes and periods that everything and everyone will naturally take in life.
God gave Elijah an uncommon strength, thus making him supernaturally outrun the chariot of Ahab. It is something that God can do for a man who is in alignment with His will.
God can grant one the needed speed where His glory and purpose is at stake. But I believe that Elijah could enjoy such divine speed because he had tarried in the presence of the God who controls times, seasons and human nature.
When we spend time seeking God, we provoke his hand to be moved in our direction. It is in line with His word, that when we call upon him, he will answer us, when we draw near to him, He will draw near to us. Likewise, when God's presence manifests, He can deliver unusual speed for the sake of His glory.
_MEDITATION:_
*"It is time to do more! But to do more, we need to first seek God more. So we can receive strength to do beyond the normal!"*

*"DARE NEW THINGS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee."* (Isaiah 60:1-2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
It is in keeping with the Spirit of faith to dare new things. Within the new creation's DNA is a wiring to expand new frontiers and take territories for the kingdom.
We'd be living outside God's highest purposes for us when this isn't evident in our life's work.
To dare new things, you must take off limitations from your mind.
You see, with God only possibilities exist. When we think certain things that God has spoken to us about are beyond our reach, we place a cap on God's abilities and cut off the flow of His power to wrought that work in and through us.
It is through us that the knowledge of the glory of God will fill the entire earth. But this won't happen if we continue to think small, or are comfortable in your small corner as long as your primary needs are met.
_MEDITATION:_
*"It is time to do more! It is time to push the boundaries of what's possible! It is time!"*

*"STAYING PASSIONATE"* (The End)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And to those who were trading in doves he said, Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a market. And it came to the minds of the disciples that the Writings say, I am on fire with passion for your house."* (John 2:16-17 (BBE))
_Bible Insight:_
In closing our reflections on staying passionate, remember that _zeal_ or _fervency_ or _fire_ are words that can be substituted for the word 'passion'. Also remember that we have identified a number of things that will definitely hinder or deflate your passion for God. And by avoiding or managing them, you build up and maintain your fire for God! These include but not limited to-
-- Distractions and Demands of Life;
-- Difficult and challenging situations that attack your Joy
-- temptations, trials and struggle against sin
-- pursuit of wealth & relevant & it's attendant busyness
-- Lack of kingdom priorities
On the other hand, take note that the benefit of staying passionate cannot be overemphasized. It is totally worthwhile to invest in building up and maintaining your passion for God, for the following but not exhaustive reasons:-
1. You either grow in your passion or you lose your passion for God. So invest in growing your passion so you won't lose it. There is no middle ground!
2. You are fulfilling positive scripture when you grow and maintain your zeal for God!
3. You stand out from the crowd, when you are zealous for God. You make yourself both available and useable for God's purposes and plans on the earth!
4. You make your life a danger zone to the enemy! Your passion will attract God's fire upon your life making you too hot for the enemy to handle!
5. Your life will become a revival point for others who need fire too!
Remember, you can't build up and maintain your passion for God, by surrounding yourself with people who are not zealous for God, or not pursuing godly passions!
*"If you lose your passion for God, you have lost your winning edge or competitive edge in this Kingdom! In all you do, don't lose your passion for God!"*
_MEDITATION:_
*"Looking for the glad hope, the revelation of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, so that he might make us free from all wrongdoing, and make for himself a people clean in heart and on fire with good works."* (Titus 2:13-14 (BBE))

*"STAYING PASSIONATE"* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God's word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced."* (Mark 4:18-19 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
One of the things the enemy also uses to fight and drain our passion for God and the ways of God, is the pursuit of wealth and relevance. This happens in either of two ways, or both. You are constantly trying to make it big, and get better financially, or you are so financially rich. The two states have a tendency of the same effect-- keep you preoccupied with activities and plans, that leave you bereft of God!
This strategy always works when we don't have God as our number one priority. It is not bad in itself to desire wealth and relevance in this life but if you don't strike a balance while doing so, you will definitely lose your passion for God.
The devil is the prince of this world. He knows exactly how to use worldly affairs to clog and becloud our minds, and deprive us of passion for God and the ways of God. He knows that we need wealth to do the works of God, yet will either attack our wealth so we are always trying to meet up, or allow us to have so much of it without ability to focus on our passion for God.
In all, we must take heed that our passion for God is not sacrificed on the altar of pursuit for wealth and relevance.
_MEDITATION:_
*"The seed cast in the weeds represents the ones who hear the kingdom news but are overwhelmed with worries about all the things they have to do and all the things they want to get. The stress strangles what they heard, and nothing comes of it."* (Mark 4:18-19(The Message))

*"STAYING PASSIONATE"* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood."* (Hebrews 12:3-4 (NIV))
_Bible Insight:_
One of the things the enemy uses to deflate our passion, is to confront us with temptations and trials. When sin gets into the way, guilt steps in. When the sin and guilt is not dealt with in repentance and faith in the word of God, fear of being rejected by God will come in! This may further lead to staying or straying away from God's presence! This situation will definitely impact our passion for God!
Beloved, there is a real struggle against sin. This struggle usually tends to sap our energy and make us recline from our push to please God. Then, there is tendency to suffer a drop in passion.
Here is what to do when sin comes into our walk and work towards staying passionate for God and His ways. Repent from the sin. Confess it primarily to God and ask for help to overcome the sin. Allow faith in God's word to stand. God doesn't count your wrongdoings against you after you have truly repented. So don't allow guilt to linger more than is necessary.
When you follow the above steps, ensure that you do not run away from God's presence. Anything taking you away from God, is not from God, no matter the reason. Anything taking you away from the place of prayer and the study of the word, is not from God. Anything taking you away from the gathering of believers is not from God. Never allow the struggle against sin make you feel unworthy of God's mercy. That's what you need most in the midst of the struggle-- mercy!
Sometimes, if need be, God will use your mentors, others, or pastors by the word of God and the Holy Spirit to rebuke you and chide you. Yes, your conscience will prick you and temporary guilt will step in, but don't dwell in your sin or your past. Follow the steps above and settle things with God immediately.
_MEDITATION:_
*"And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son."* (Hebrews 12:5-6(NIV))
