*Faith Series: The Audacity of Faith*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"By Faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.â€* (Hebrews 11:8 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Entering the unknown is not something most people embrace or are happy to do. In the school of Faith, dealing with the unknown is the order of the day.
Our God is the God who knows the unknown and with Him, the future is not different from either the present or even the past. He sees the very end from the very beginning. Hence, when He calls us for something to be done, He expects us to embrace the known and the unknown by Faith.
When Abram as he then was, was called out by Faith, without knowing where he was heading to, he embraced the task & trusted God more than he trusted himself & his family to help him. As though that was not enough, he still allowed Lot his nephew to go with him.
What's that "unknown" that God is calling you to embrace and embark on today?
Faith is always daring and audacious enough to take the bulls by its horn. This year, don't only follow the paths well trodden. Follow the paths of Faith and run by the help of God.
_MEDITATION:_
*"By Faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:"* (Hebrews 11:9 (KJV))

*Faith Series: The Sacrifices of Faith*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"By Faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.â€* (Hebrews 11:4 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Abel's sacrificial offering was one of Faith. How do we know?
Pay attention to this: *"After some time Cain brought some of his harvest and gave it as an offering to the LORD.
Then Abel brought the first lamb born to one of his sheep, killed it, and gave the best parts of it as an offering. The LORD was pleased with Abel and his offering"* (Genesis 4:3-4 (GNB))
Take note of the words used to describe Cain's sacrifice: "some of his harvest"-- nothing special. But here are words used to describe Abel's sacrifice - "first lamb born", "best part", etc.
Whether you are reading King James version or Good News Bible version, the difference is clear. Abel was intentional and deliberate about his offering. What Hebrews 11:4 now reveals to us is the heart disposition that enabled Abel deliver an intentional and deliberate offerring to God-- it was a disposition of faith!
Abel had Faith that his sacrifice would be acceptable hence he made extra efforts to distinguish his offering by selecting the very best. His reward? We are still learning about him and his sacrifice because his sacrifice is still speaking. Hallelujah!!
If we must deliver offerings that would attract divine attention and commendation, we must offer sacrifices of Faith. Not only in material things but first our lives must be offered to God in Faith. When we have given ourselves to God, giving our best to Him becomes a hobby.

*WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."*
(1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Some beautiful paths in life can not be discovered without getting lost first.
I encourage you this day;
Never Stop Dreaming. Never Stop Believing. Never Give Up. Never Stop Trying. And Never Stop Learning.
I know a number of us wish we could get hold on the clear picture of what the future holds and have every life's puzzle all figured out. But what would be the joy of living if we already know exactly what tomorrow holds?
The most reassuring testament is that we know God's position over our lives and how that He has our interest at heart. Therefore if we steadfastly pursue our God given purpose there's no limit to how far we can go.
In fact, not knowing what tomorrow brings, is actually God's gift of hope to mankind and this hope makes not ashame because God sent his spirit to help us navigate through every unfamiliarity of life.
Every season in our lives comes to prepare us for what is yet to come. May we not be drowned with worry and sorrow in the days of adversity and uncertainties.
_MEDITATION:_
*For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end* (Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV))

*FINANCING MISSIONS* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*And because of the proof which this service of yours brings, many will give glory to God for your loyalty to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else.*
(2 Corinthians 9:13 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
A lot of people have an idea that when George Mueller died, George Mueller’s God died (too). God is not dead. Elijah’s God still lives today. He can work the necessary miracle. “Said I not unto thee, that, if thou would believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? All things are possible to him that believeth.â€
Every year for 50 years, we have held a missionary convention. It used to last for one week. Then, for several years, four weeks and five Sundays. After giving the people a vision of missions, morning, afternoon and night, we take up a faith-promise offering. Our people indicate the amount they will contribute during the next twelve months. Does it work? Let me give you two examples.
Park Street Church, Boston, asked me to hold an evangelistic campaign. I did so. The auditorium was crowded, with many standing on the steps, and score upon scores, mostly young people, found Christ. Dr. Harold Ockenga, the Pastor, asked me to come into his office. “Dr Smith,†he said, “this church has never had a missionary convention in the one hundred and thirty-five years of its history. We understand that you hold one every year. Would you be willing to come to Park Street and hold one for us?†I asked Dr. Ockenga how much his church was, at that time, contributing to missions. His answer was, $3,200 a year.
Next year I took a group of missionaries and held a convention in Park Street Church. I went back every year for six years. Last year Park Street gave over $300,000 to missions.
_MEDITATION:_
*And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause.* (2 Corinthians 9:8 (GNB))

*DAILY DEW 15TH/DECEMBER/2021*
*WELCOME TO MISSIONS* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?*
(Proverbs 24:11-12 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
There are business men here and each one has his own business enterprise. Now there is one department in your business that you look upon as more important than any other department. Where then do you put most of your surplus money? Why, into that most important department, of course. Why do you do that? Because you want to develop the most important department of your business enterprise. So it is with missions.
If world evangelism is the most important work of the church, then we should put most of our money into this most important department. Otherwise, we do not put missions first and we do not believe that world evangelization is the supreme task of the church. I find very few ministers and believers who really believe that the evangelization of the world is their most important work.
This leads me to say that every church should spend more on missions than it spends on itself. That is only logical. If we believe that world evangelization comes first, then we should invest more money in the region beyond than we use for ourselves here at home.
_MEDITATION:_
*“But,†you ask, “what about your church? What about The Peoples Church in Toronto of which you are Pastor? Does your church send more to the foreign field than it spends on itself?†I am glad to be able to say that there never has been a year since I have been Pastor of The Peoples Church when we have used anything like as much on ourselves at home as we have sent to the foreign fields of earth.*
