_Key Bible Text:_
*"Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls."* (James 1:21 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
There are three categories of people, especially young people, who don't go to church anymore
1. Those who have bought into unscriptural ideologies
2. Those who have slipped into a life of sin
3. Those who have found themselves insulting and ridiculing the church and her pastors.
Many are in more than one category and what is common to all three is that although they may know and remember some scriptures usually when they want to support their choices, but have somehow forsaken the truth of the Bible and are far from the word of God.
This is what the first Psalm addresses where it says
Blessed is the man that
1. Walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly
2. Nor standeth in the way of sinners
3. Nor sitteth in the seat of mockers
But his DELIGHT is in the law of the Lord and in His law does he meditate day and night.
I love the words of Bishop Oyedepo where he said
"One thing is needful. Whatever day the study of the bible is substituted for any other spiritual hobby; We are finished. Because we have a new generation of believers that think that fun is what makes a new generation. That is a new degeneration."
The greatest need of our generation is not spiritual complexity, emotional worship, political participation, digital skills, empowerment and exposure, education and art etc....all these things will fail if we do not recover the soul, by going back to the word.
_MEDITATION:_
*Brethren, the greatest need of our generation is to go back to the Bible!*

*OUR MISSION* (2)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,."* (1 Timothy 2:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Read!
1 Timothy 2:2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
1 Timothy 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
FIRST OF ALL, PRAYERS be made.
Prayer is a priority for the Believer, never an option.
Then it says IN PRAYER, there's a priority...WHO/WHAT to pray FOR.
For ALL MEN!
So FIRST OF ALL, you are to pray for ALL MEN, not yourself. All Men FIRST!
ALL MEN includes Kings, leaders, all those in authority or any form of influence.
What should I pray for them about?
See verse 3...
It introduces God as our SAVIOUR, not a PROVIDER. So this is a matter of SALVATION!
Verse 4 gave further clarity...that ALL MEN be SAVED.
So FIRST OF ALL, I will pray.
While taking my prayer posture, FIRST OF ALL, I will pray for ALL MEN to be SAVED.
Not ALL MEN needs healing, or promotion, or car or houses. However, ALL MEN need to be SAVED.
_MEDITATION:_
*The whole of last week, the thought of seeing men saved didn't come close to your mind. God has allowed us to enter this week in hope that we will do what we OUGHT to do. Say "Help me Lord!"*

*OUR MISSION*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus."* (Acts 8:35 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
So in Acts 10, the Angel told Cornelius what he MUST do.
The Angel also told Peter what he MUST do.
Cornelius represents the unbeliever.
Peter represents the believers.
The Believer has an exclusive responsibility towards the unbeliever.
The unbeliever cannot know what he OUGHT to do by himself.
While Cornelius has something he's SUPPOSED to do, there's something Peter is SUPPOSED to be DOING.
The reason you are saved and left here is because of those yet to be saved. We exist for the salvation of unsaved men.
So every unbeliever out there is an emergency yet to be attended to.
As long we have them out there, the work is not done, friends.
Every man you come in contact with, whether for business deal or casual reason, the purpose behind that meeting is for that person to a step closer to the cross.

*Achan and Rahab* (1)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel."* (Joshua 7:1 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
I want to tell you a story about two different people. Both
stories come from the Old Testament and provide a contrast in behavior that I want to use in describing our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Two stories. Two different people. One was hiding something, and the other was hiding someone. One had a promising future, and the other faced certain doom. One was a soldier, while the other was a prostitute. One destroyed his family, while the other saved her family. One brought defeat to the nation while the other was used to save the nation.
You have probably figured out who I am talking about – Achan and Rahab. These stories happened simultaneously in the Book of Joshua.
While their stories happen in the same place and time, these individuals couldn’t be more different from each other. Both were hiding something but what they were hiding forever changed their lives.
_MEDITATION:_
*Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.* (Joshua 22:20 (KJV))

*DAILY DEW 16/NOVEMBER/2023*
*PRAYER--A LOVE LANGUAGE* (5)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?"* (Matthew 26:40 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Love demands time, affection, care and selflessness. Prayer when viewed as a love language, compels consistency and regular, quality time.
Quality does not necessarily mean quantity. However, quality means meaningful and impactful. The time you spend before a good relationship can be built must be significant and consistent.
In the same manner, the way we pray effectively, is to create time and indulge or spend a considerable length of time. When Jesus needed prayer back up, he asked his disciple, Peter, *"What, could ye not watch with me one hour?"*
This lends us an idea of what length of time Jesus considered fair at that time and in the circumstance. This does not mean praying less than an hour is not good enough, but it does show that praying an hour or more is good enough.
However, even if we pray an hour but we are not consistent, it will still not bring about the goal-- to build a sweet fellowship and relationship with your heavenly Father. One that is strong enough to impact one's life and destiny.
We must strive to build a praying habit both personally and corporately. Personally, work hard to raise a prayer pattern or structure for your life, a pattern that has both internal strength and external strength. Internal strength being your personal prayer times and routines while external speaks of your group or church or general and even family prayer times.
_MEDITATION:_
*Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.* (Matthew 26:41 (KJV))
