*DAILY DEW 12/NOVEMBER/2023* *PRAYER--A LOVE LANGUAGE* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.."* (Mark 6:46 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ At the very heart of it, prayer is communication. It is communication between man and God; between the mortal and the immortal; between human and the divine; the less mighty and the Almighty; the fallible and the infallible; in short, it is communication between YOU and God! Anyone in love, of all class of persons, understands fully the place and power of communication. Majority of breakups and misunderstandings in relationships, especially marital or romantic relationships, is caused by breakdown or breach in communication. Simple! When I was courting my wife, for a good time it was a distance relationship. Never would a day pass by, that we won't make time to hear from each other--unless a few understandable exceptions. It was a daily routine. It was usually sometimes around 10pm. And it was so because, we would have addressed all the pressing demands of the day. Sometimes, the gist would stretch into the night. Sometimes, either of us would sleep off on the other. Sometimes, we waited to see who would end the call first. Sometimes, we just listened to the silence in between. But we usually cherished every moment of it. Jesus had a custom of making time to pray to His father daily. It was a love affair. It was a ritual to be kept. He could send people away, just so he could spend time with this special person in His life-- God, the Father. Thus, he left for us a model, a path to follow. _MEDITATION:_ *Why do we struggle to pray? *DAILY DEW 9/NOVEMBER/2023* *This Life Is Not Balanced* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"You have been put to no test but such as is common to man: and God is true, who will not let any test come on you which you are not able to undergo; but he will make with the test a way out of it, so that you may be able to go through it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ "Life is not balanced!" That is not in the Bible? Absolutely, you wont find it in the bible. So why is it important!? Well, the key thing, whether you feel like life is balanced or not, is knowing that God is on your side to make you overcome the challenges and circumstances that forces us to think or feel that life is not balanced! The truth is, God takes delight in, bringing out His glory and praise out of the unlikely situations of our lives. That imbalance, that tragedy, that inexplicable demise of a loved one whose life and presence would have made all the difference, all that messy story of your life and what not, is where God loves to bring out His praise and glory! Life is not balanced! But in the imbalance, God brings balance to everyone who trusts him. Many times we don't feel like it, but knowing that God cannot be tripped off balance is like an anchor we can we rely on. He holds us, and not just us holding him. Jesus said in the world we will have tribulations, which we can call, Life not balanced situations, but we can be of good cheer because we know He overcame this world. Inside his victory lies our victory too. Hallelujah! _MEDITATION:_ *We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us. We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don't know what to do, we never give up. *DAILY DEW 8/NOVEMBER/2023* *This Life Is Not Balanced* _Key Bible Text:_ *"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."* (John 16:33 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In all of scripture, no where did God promise a problem free life! God never did all through the Old Testament. In the New Testament, even while with them, Jesus never promised His disciples a problem free life. In fact, he prepared them for challenges and problems. "In the world ye shall have tribulation", is the "promise" we have from Jesus. Someone will ask, what is tribulation? In english dictionary, it simply means "a cause of great trouble or suffering." That is certainly a problem, a major problem even. And you know, sometimes, the problems we would have to deal with, will not be ones we think we deserve or should be facing! There are problems, we have invited by our actions or inaction, but there are those we don't even understand why we have to deal with them! So tribulation is not negotiable. When dealing with these problems, you would sometimes feel "life is not balanced." _MEDITATION:_ *Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people. *DAILY DEW 24/OCTOBER/2023* *THE MERCY OF THE LORD* (2) _Key Bible Text:_ *"But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison."* (Genesis 39:21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Mercy is not because of unrighteousness. Mercy is not only because you are not in the will of God. Mercy is not only because you are doing wrong. What is Mercy then? Mercy is a divine favourable disposition of God towards a man, that evokes from God passion to make that man fulfill all that he was made to accomplish in life. We are not looking for Mercy to solve a little problem, not for an immediate situation but for a lifespan. *Mercy is a divine evaluation of a man's strength with a view of making it up for him to meet up divine expectation.* When God calls a man or give a man an assignment, that is his mandate. However, when God wants to help the man with His Mercy, God measures the lifespan, and length of years of the man and give the man the required capacity to succeed. We only receive mercy to fulfill God's will, God's mandate for our life. No man will enter into the mandate of God for his life until he has obtained Mercy. You need to give yourself totally to God. Take the mercy, accept the help."* (Heb.4.16 (MSB)) _Bible Insight:_ The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Lam.3.22 (NLT) Every man that will accomplish what God has for him must rely solely on God -- not because they are energetic, or intelligent even though it is very good to be intelligent. Even if you are very fast or dexterious, all these are not sufficient to take you to where God wants you to go. The mercy of the Lord needs to be received for life and destiny to be what God purpose it to be. I have observed something else in this world of ours. The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise are often poor, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being at the right place at the right time.
